It's actually perfectly valid in this adventure. Most of the bosses are weak, the only one you have to build to beat is the Plague Lord, to try and finish it in one run. Unless you have the other elixir that shuffles copies of minions into your deck, you need as much value as you can get.

Then spends turn after turn keeping every card in his hand so he's guaranteed to mill cards.

Yeah, I find unless you have small low cost or mana cheating, zoo or some kind of combo plan, Vim is a trap.

Me the first time i fight a plague: That was easy.
Me any time after that: WHY DID IT SUDENLY BECOME SO MUCH HARDER!?!?
Don't know what it is but for me it's usually I either die at boss #3 or #4 or make it to the Plague Lord and either kill them in one attempt or at least bring them into third phase. It's really wonky how strong the variance is.
@@Zakading For me it's usually boss 7 right before the plague that ends up being a super tough fight that I either lose to or just barely make it out alive.
The strongest combo I've found in Tombs of Terror so far is Jr. Navigator, any buff card and enough discounts to reduce the buff to 0 mana, and Gnomebliterator makes the combo even better. Delay one of the easier bosses long enough to get it all in hand and you can accumulate 300 plague lord damage in a single turn.
Jr. Navigator is super strong, I got an infinite combo that took down the third plague lord from 300 to 0 in a single turn with it, the Starseeker hero power, a Radiant Elemental, and Barkskin.
I got the your spells cost 1 less treasure and earthen scales with jr navigator and went to 25k armor and oneshot the last boss in act 2. Its crazy how many cards just break this one.

I find it hard to watch those runs with the draw cards elixir. It kinda frustrates me seeying all those cards getting discarded

I'm glad I watched this run. I refused to take gnomebliterator because the card description makes no indication that the damage to the final boss is cumulative, nor that it is dealt as soon as you reach the fight. I never would have picked it before. I might now. Thanks trump for the memes.

At 1:02:15 if he had played the beast after he played his first pick pocket he could have played pick pocket 2 more times and gotten a discount on everything he played because the discount would hit the pickpocket making it odd every time.

You can do much better than that with Finley. He actually gets Krag'wa and Grumble offered a lot and you can get them with your Discover Hero Power.
Once I copied Gnomebliterator so often that i completely skipped the Plaguelord at 300 health.
