    Hi, excellent, great job, I would like to learn about shock absorber repair. Unfortunately here in Brazil, there is nowhere to learn. The praise remains. Thanks

    Hi, amazing video! If you can help me, I have a doubt. It's possible to turn the spring preloader to change its angulation from the top axis? From fabric, it's nearly 45 degrees, I want it more likely 90 degrees. I have the shock mounted in another model. Thank You!

      I do not remember clearly, but there is small fixation shaft on preload adjuster, it can not be rotated freely, need some machining work to change position. Also, be careful to not disassembly preload adjuster, you cannot put it back together!

    Very nice video. I like your shock spring compressor better than mine, that pushes from the top of the preloader, but is difficult to get the snap ring out. Can you comment more on how you ensure the right oil volume? I assume there is a stop in the main tube so the dividing piston can't go too low? Thanks for the video.

      You cannot overfill this type of shock absorber. If not sure, just press shock completely after assembly, if it goes full stroke, everything is correct!

      I can, but I don't want to. Lots of work on sports bike shocks.

    Hi again, could you talk about the oil you used. What is the SAE or DIN viscosity. Thanks

    • @AutospeciLvAkumulatori
      @AutospeciLvAkumulatori  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am usinga a Ipone Monoshock oil. SAE 2,5W. Also you can use a Motorex SD-1 or similar, but fork oil is not recommended.

      Dissassembly is similat to any motocross shock, nothing special here to show.

    Hello. Can you rebuild TDM850 from year 2000 rear shock? Could i send it by post (from Estonia)?

    • @AutospeciLvAkumulatori
      @AutospeciLvAkumulatori  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TDM shocks very often had bad shafts, i do not recommend to try to rebuild it. Also, you can find a new one for not very expensive money, like this (first on Google results): www.omniaracing.net/en/rear-mono-shock-absorber-hagon-for-yamaha-tdm850-19912001-p-13772.html

    hi how did you remove the spring from the entire shock?

    • @AutospeciLvAkumulatori
      @AutospeciLvAkumulatori  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am using spring press or screw to compress a spring. Then remove the circlip.

    • @jalatecompa
      @jalatecompa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AutospeciLvAkumulatori ok i remove the spring successfully, now im going to remove the top part where the piston is, to replace the seals and refill with oil, but do i need to extract the nitrogen drilling? mandatory?

    • @AutospeciLvAkumulatori
      @AutospeciLvAkumulatori  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jalatecompa you can try to press down a seal block in oil.bath, then reassembly same way in oil bath. In this case you can try to leave nitrogen pressure in place.

    Hello from Australia, I am interested in rebuilding a set of Nismo R32 GTR shock absorbers with damper adjustment. They are somewhat a rare option for the car and I want to keep them as part of a restoration. I am getting a bit stuck with finding a business who is willing to do the work here. 1. Do you know if it's possible to rebuild them 2. is it a job you would be willing to do if I send them to you (assuming I cannot get it done here)

    • @AutospeciLvAkumulatori

      Everything can be rebuilded. Whether it is worth it, I doubt. How much do new / used ones cost?

    • @AutospeciLvAkumulatori
      @AutospeciLvAkumulatori  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought here is cheaper www.gtr.co.uk/threads/r32-gtr-nismo-height-adjustable-g-attack-s-tune-suspension.570565/

    • @AutospeciLvAkumulatori
      @AutospeciLvAkumulatori  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or maybe not. Take a look at shock rod seal fixture- if it is welded, then rebuilding is expensive. If it is screwable, then maybe not so expensive. I thought they are not intended for repair.

    • @mint.z3244
      @mint.z3244 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thankyou for your reply! Yes they are not an in-expensive unit. I believe the top is screwed on. There is a cap with two flat sections that appear to be there for removal. I will have the units available for further evaluation in the new year and can then provide further details 🙂
