Just a heads up, the best way to protect red bottoms is to take your shoes to a professional cobbler and have a rubber sole placed on the shoe. Not only does it keep the soles red, but it makes the shoes less slippery (and easier to walk in) Runs about $40, but well worth the investment.
BRILLIANT!!!!! I DONT WEAR THEM OUT I PLACE MY SHOES IN MY TOTE THEN PUT THEM ON WHEN I GET TO MY DESTINATION. I MAKE IT A HABIT TO ONLY WALK ON CARPET. NOT FOR DANCING. IM A PRACTICAL DIVA.
Stop counting someone else's coins. It makes perfect sense to preserve the bottom of the shoe. The paint scratches off quickly. Those shoes are not cheap. If you can't afford them then don't worry about it. Payless, Shoe Dazzle, Shoe Carnival and DSW have sales going on right now. smh.
This is why I love you Meg!! Purchasing my first pair of CL's this week and i swore I was going to find some tape or SOMETHING to protect the red sole.. I mean that really bothers me when they're all scuffed up.. I didn't even think to use a screen protector lol Thanks girl.. I knew I wasn't the only one! 👀
lol megz i give you sooooooo much credit for taking the time to respond to these trolls. but kudos to being really polite and killing them with kindness!
Omg thank you so much for this video it just helped me out a lot.. I just purchased my first pair of red bottoms and didn’t want my paint to scratch yet thanks again!
thisheadofmine ever been to a department store, tried on a nice dress, and smelled old deodorant? you'd be surprised at what people do to impress others for ONE night man
ulovemegz Oh, could you please upload an video of replacing the zaggs? Everyone in the interwebs is saying that the color peels off when you take the zaggs off!
+ulovemegz i would like to see that in a video. i have yet to see someone even comment after they removed the protector after wearing them. the people that have tried have all said the red peeled off.
Hi Megz, I just saw that someone already asked the same question I had previously wrote... You answered the question about slips . Thank you!!!!! Great video!!!
hi I just want to know if the screen protector is 100% safe. when it's time to replace the clear screen protector and you peel it off will the red paint come off with it? and how do u remove the screen anyway?
I don't own any red bottoms, but I love to take care everything that I own, this tip comes in handy. And to those who comment on the price of the shoes saying that it's stupid to buy a pair of shoes for that price needs to shut up because if she work hard for her money she's entitle to spend it the way she please if you have a problem with that then your a natural ass! And besides that you didn't even had to watch the video! That's my two cents..
I honestly have No idea why I watched this.. Knowing DAMN WELL I'm not about to spend that much on no shoes so my lil $30 heels don't need this lol. Good idea though Megz :)
And the fact that ppl break their necks (and bank accounts) to purchase these shoes that they can't even pronounce correctly is a little baffling. Couldn't be me!
Compton Queen I accidentally thumbs upped your comment and I can't thumbs down it instead like I want to ... She pronounced it like every other person that can't truthfully afford to wear such extravagant shoes pronounces it. WRONG...
the opening things struggle is always real!! 😂😂 but great tips! one day when the good Lordt blesses me with my red bottoms I'm gonna put screen protectors on them 😁😁
Vicki you will have a pair soon enough sis! No good thing will God withhold from His children. Love you and your channel. Just watched your 2015 video last night. ☺
Thank you for this! I was overjoyed to get a pair as an anniversary gift, sadly my red wore off quite a bit, so I will resole them, but the next pair- (oh yes there will be a "next pair" ) I will totally do this!
Have you ever thought about using vibram soles? They have grips on them. And if you're concerned about reselling them down the line, I don't think the bottoms are the #1 thing buyers who are Louboutin lovers or collectors care about. They know the color is going to wear off the bottom regardless of what protector you use because its a normal wear. The real judge of the quality(depending on the shoe) is the sole and the leather lining.
Awesome tutorial. I wish I saw this before I wore my red bottoms for the first time haha does the protector come off easily without damaging the paint Id you ever need to take it off?
Seems like it would be easier on a counter top or hard surface to press down and maybe studier with contact paper or something meant for more wear and tear
I have a question -- what can you do to protect suede CL pumps? The liquid spray will ruin the suede if it gets on there. I can't tape the sides of the suede without ruining it a bit either.
Hi just wanted to know if you have tried to remove the protector after a few wears? Can you do an update video showing your removal experience, please? Would like to know if it removes the paint. Do you have to replace the covers of so how often?
I wonder if it would have been easier to place the shoes on the protection screen trace it cut it out and then apply it to shoe. That would avoid cutting and I know i would be the one who nicked my shoe with the scissors.
Hi, thanks for the turorial, can I change the protector to a new one when they get dirty or wear off? I heard you're not supposed to once they go on.. Thank you
The spray is NOT a glue it is a soapy water to help you position it correctly before you squeeze it down smoothly! That and you Cut it over size before you peel it off the backing and wetting it!
I wouldn't worry about the bottom of my shoes.they're supposed to get worn.u can still tell the color of the bottoms in the arch area, where the shoe elevates your foot.protecting the bottoms is ridiculous,IMHO.
Ariel Lee nobody's going to c the bottom of her shoes.I don't think their life will extend anymore either BC they plastic sheet will scrape away, almost immediately from the friction of sidewalks.but..whatever,her shoes, and time...and it IS personal preference...
***** Thank you. I believe in the resale world the better the bottoms are preserved the more money you will receive if you wish to sell. This helps with reselling or if you just choose to preserve the red years down the line. The plastic doesnt come off the shoe immediately from wear but it also depends how often you are wearing your shoes. I've worn them multiple times and the plastic is still intact. I do believe that the plastic would need to be replaced eventually just in the same fashion as you would need to replace the bottom of the sole from continious wear.
Damn I will have to get mine repainted to do this to all of my shoes not just my Loubs. Anything I paid over $300 for. But they make a red bottom shoe protector online and at the Loub shoe doctor leather store. Planned on purchasing when I got mine repainted but this might be cheaper.
Take them to the shoe doctors and have them put a red rubber bottom on it. They will last much longer and it's the same price as the screen protector your buying
Please what size did you get for the screen protector for example the ipad air or pro?? and which option did you chose when purchasing it for example there is a chose of standard screen/ back, back or standard screen? Please reply as I want to ensure I am buying the correct protector. Thank you :)
I just have a quick question have you found anything to make your Loubs easier on the feet? Mine are very uncomfortable I love them but they hurt sooooo bad😔
I heard of women getting pain relief shots in their feet, or wearing Lidocaine patches before walking in their very high heels. Seems like a costly endeavor to wear very expensive shoes that cause more harm than they are worth. Such is the price of beauty.
you have to break them in properly and buy the shoe that works with your foot shape and toes. either the so kates or the pigalle follies will work well, but i have yet to see someone find both comfortable. there is also the matter of proper mechanics for walking in heels, most women have very poor mechanics, so the balance, weight distribution, placement and lack of foot training are the reason for the pain on most cases.
Thanks for the video Megan. I was looking on purse forum for a way to preserve the sole and this seemed to be the preferred way but their was only one video and it wasn't as informative as yours.
are the shield spray purchased seperately or did it come in a package along with the Invisible Shield? Just trying to get the Invisible Shield on Ebay however alot of the listings did not specifiy whether or not the spray is included thanks in advance!!
Hi! It’s been a few years since you’ve posted.. how long did the protector last? And what do you do once it gets dirty, since you said it will peel the red off if you try to take it off. Also is it slippery??
i put these on my gf louboutins, and put another layer of thin clear gel for traction. no need to ever replace the zagg on the sole, they stay as a base to apply kung shoe grip or some clear gel ipad case cut out and spray glued on top of the zagg. great traction, great protection and no wear.
They sell shields at 5below. Also, there's actual redbottoms guards. They're a thick rubber material, and it's pretty much the same color red as the shoe, but just matte. A shoe cobbler can install them
Megz love love your videos, gal , we work hard for this high end or whatever we buy ,some of us appreciate your hard work to give advice and ideas on these videos, gal I have been following you for 2years before knowing I had to subscribe, but trust me my husband like my makeup thanks to Megz, all negative comments ignore hone, we love you all the way from Canada
Louboutins I love the look of my 7 pairs of Louboutin, but after anywhere from 2 to 4 wearings them the red sole under my foot gets damaged, and I have to smothered out the soles and repaint them, which is not cheap the alternative is to find a store I ship mine to NYC where they can glue on a not so very pretty red sole protector that is a bit off color and with fedex shipping both ways and insuring $800'to $1200'shoes or boots it gets costly! Shoe hospitals have a red protector that they put on for you while you wait. I'm in San Francisco, but I know this is true for other shoe hospitals also.
Great idea! Oh, and it's taut (pronounced tot), not taunt. I don't mean to be the grammar police, but that one scratched my ears lol. #noshade just helping a sista out.

Noel P amen... See my disaster on my channel
That's actually not true. They shave off the red and then put that protector
BRILLIANT!!!!! I DONT WEAR THEM OUT I PLACE MY SHOES IN MY TOTE THEN PUT THEM ON WHEN I GET TO MY DESTINATION. I MAKE IT A HABIT TO ONLY WALK ON CARPET. NOT FOR DANCING. IM A PRACTICAL DIVA.
Very helpful video. I don't even own any red bottoms yet but when I do this is a great tip! I'm sure this would be helpful for other shoes too!

Hey lol! I work at payless! What's that supposed to mean :P
Haha yassss
😂😂😂
I agree with your statement I have 3 pr of CLs, but I love DSW too 😂😂😂
why ya'll so mad about how much she spending on shoes? It aint your money. people just always hating for no reason. stupid.
This is why I love you Meg!! Purchasing my first pair of CL's this week and i swore I was going to find some tape or SOMETHING to protect the red sole.. I agree! People are so mean and disrespectful!
This is legitimately such a good idea, especially if you want to resale.
Girl when I tell you this is beyond creative. I'd have never thought to do this. Thanks for the tip!!!
Omg thank you so much for this video it just helped me out a lot.. I just purchased my first pair of red bottoms and didn’t want my paint to scratch yet thanks again!
Do you know if this method ruins the paint if the protector is peeled off?
You can also use clear packaging tape it is a very inexpensive option and works well i did this anytime i bought shoes and planned on returning them
You buy shoes, wear them and return them??!! 😯😢
thisheadofmine ever been to a department store, tried on a nice dress, and smelled old deodorant? you'd be surprised at what people do to impress others for ONE night man
I literally got two pairs of worn CL from department stores where a person put tape on the bottom and returned then. what is wrong with ppl lol.
Are you able to remove the shields and reapply them? Or does it peel off the red sole?
sabbrinaxo Hi! Yes, I am able to remove them and the soles are not damaged at all.
ulovemegz Oh, could you please upload an video of replacing the zaggs? Everyone in the interwebs is saying that the color peels off when you take the zaggs off!
+ulovemegz Do you just peel off the sticker and redo the process or do you have to remove any left over adhesive with something first?
+sabbrinaxo I have not heard that you can peal them off without damage.

Vicki you will have a pair soon enough sis! No good thing will God withhold from His children. Love you and your channel. Just watched your 2015 video last night. ☺
Barbara Watson But why must red bottoms be considered a "good thing". Over priced shoes with red paint? sounds great
I was struggling!!! lol I wish they would drop down from the sky!
Pictur3Perf3ct Because some people like that I believe.
Thank you for this! I was overjoyed to get a pair as an anniversary gift, sadly my red wore off quite a bit, so I will resole them, but the next pair- (oh yes there will be a "next pair" ) I will totally do this!
Does it make the bottom slippery to walk in?
Hi, I didn't experience any slipping.
Lol right that was a big concern of mine. Glad to know there's no slippage.
This is such a great idea!! Thanks for sharing. And i LOOOOVE the So Kate's!! They're gorgeous.

Thanks. Great job. I was thinking of painting my red bottom soles with clear polish. This is better route to take!
Hey, have you tried removing/replacing the screen protector? Did it damage the red at all? 👠💃
Awesome tutorial. I wish I saw this before I wore my red bottoms for the first time haha does the protector come off easily without damaging the paint Id you ever need to take it off?
Great idea. I will def do this with my new C L that I purchase from here on out. Did it make the shoe slippery on carpet.?
Seems like it would be easier on a counter top or hard surface to press down and maybe studier with contact paper or something meant for more wear and tear
What an awesome idea! Does the screen protector make the shoe slippery when walking on certain surfaces like wood or tiles?
I have a question -- what can you do to protect suede CL pumps? The liquid spray will ruin the suede if it gets on there. I can't tape the sides of the suede without ruining it a bit either.
What an awesome idea... I am thinking to get the Topy overlay done to the bottom of mines. Either way hun love the video. Keep doing what you do... :)
Hi just wanted to know if you have tried to remove the protector after a few wears? Can you do an update video showing your removal experience, please? Would like to know if it removes the paint. Do you have to replace the covers of so how often?
Any recommendations on keeping insides clean? The where the bottom of the foot goes
Hey Megz, I love this ideal of yours because I to have red bottom shoes and I was just waiting on this review thank you so much!💋💖
I will be doing mine. I have the black so Kates in suede. Haven't worn yet because didn't want to mess up the soles... thanks megz☆☆☆
Are the shoes slippery to walk in After application, and how do you remove the shield when you are ready to resell without peeling the original sole?
That is very neat, I would like to use that technique on my shoe, where can I get that protective film
Is it slippery on tile and wood flooring??
I wonder if it would have been easier to place the shoes on the protection screen trace it cut it out and then apply it to shoe. That would avoid cutting and I know i would be the one who nicked my shoe with the scissors.
ROSHAWNDA DENNIES I did it that way and this way seems easier
Great idea and tutorial!!! Does it also prevent slipping too?
Or you can trace the outline of the shoe on the protecter then cut it.
Please do a tutorial on your hairFinity update
Good idea, much better than the other idea of repainting it LOL.
Hi, thanks for the turorial, can I change the protector to a new one when they get dirty or wear off? I heard you're not supposed to once they go on.. Thank you
Have u made a bedroom tour video yet? I also would like to c ur twin!
Hi, I am wondering...what is the spray? How do you make the TPU stick on the bottom?
Does this work with sneakers? I got them louboutin louis junior low black calf. Havent unboxed em yet, but I dont want to mess up the soles
The spray is NOT a glue it is a soapy water to help you position it correctly before you squeeze it down smoothly! That and you

Thank you! I believe its all in a persons personal preference and how they choose to treat their shoes.
that's true.
It just makes it look "newer" and to have a crispy red. Plus those shoes are expensive so might aswell protect from damaging as much as you can.
Ariel Lee nobody's going to c the bottom of her shoes.I don't think their life will extend anymore either BC they plastic sheet will scrape away, almost immediately from the friction of sidewalks.but..whatever,her shoes, and time...and it IS personal preference...

thx... i know this is old but good info still. plz update
When you take the protector off does the red come off with it, or is it easy to remove?
I think it is a great tip. What insole do you purchase. I've been trying all different kinds and I find my feet hurt more with the insole. HELP!
Hi, these a foot pedals. You can find these in Target.
I will be using that method soon on all my name brand hills thanks Megan
Love it Megz. Can you use a protector that already has adhesive?
How do you protect your heel???
Nice! On your nails do a black top and red on under side
Damn I will have to get mine repainted to do this to all of my shoes not just my Loubs. Anything I paid over $300 for. But they make a red bottom shoe protector online and at the Loub shoe doctor leather store. Planned on purchasing when I got mine repainted but this might be cheaper.

I'll stick with red bottom flats
Dont they shoes come with a protection thingy
The*
Hi, no they don't sadly.
Would you say that they fit true to size?
I believe the pump runs a little large.
Thanks for the video Megan. I was looking on purse forum for a way to preserve the sole and this seemed to be the preferred way but their was only one video and it wasn't as informative as yours.
this was the preferred way???? Not using the red vibram soles?
Where did u got the clear pad...what go inside of your toe shoes?
I don't have red bottoms, but I got these school loans though lol ;( Good tips though.

U could also use 3m

Megz where can I buy a pair?
have any shoes to sell?
Great idea. Thank you for sharing.
Wow i wish i saw this before i had protection on and went threw first time i wore them smh 1,400 boots
Did this make your shoes slippery? Also have you tried to replace the shield?
i put these on my gf louboutins, and put another layer of thin clear gel for traction. no need to ever replace the zagg on the sole, they stay as a base to apply kung shoe grip or some clear gel ipad case cut out and spray glued on top of the zagg. great traction, great protection and no wear.

Great tip and idea.
Megz girl that's a great idea thanks for sharing.
cool video , you should check out the way we protect red bottoms
It won't last especially on rough surface, its best to see a cobbler specialized in designer shoes.
Beautiful shoes Megan and this is a great idea. :)
Are they uncomfortable to walk in I saw the insole in them
After a while they hurt since there isn't a platform.
Yes I can't go over 2hrs in mines
Extremely
Hi Megz, how comfortAble the shoes are?
I really wouldnt say they are comfortable because they start to hurt about 3hrs in. I believe it has an average wear before it starts to hurt.
