This is the most beautiful performance I've ever heard. I can't even describe how it made me feel while listening to it... I've since replayed it several times. This is so amazing, I had no idea that bagpipes could even make sounds like this! And this guy is the founder of my school!?! I now feel like my piping education is in very capable hands, indeed! Like someone who's never played chess being tutored by a Grand Master... 👏🤯🤩
I believe this is the only time I've got to see Andrew perform, he really is good, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it's twelve years old, let's see something new.
Anyone able to list the songs from this performance? That one at 3:20 is fantastically different, sounded kind of a minor type key, I’ve been looking for those types of pipe tunes
The tune is actually "Banjo Breakdown," played with an alternative fingering on C which brings the pitch down 1/2 step and creates an A minor scale, more or less (these are bagpipes, after all). This is tricky to do, and unless you are a very advanced piper I don't recommend it The closest thing to a minor scale on the pipes using conventional fingering is B minor, so if you look for tunes built around the note B you should find nome nice minor-sounding stuff.
I saw a new chanter that's on the market now that plays an extended scale depending on how it is fingered. I think you would have to be a pretty good Piper to get the best use of it though.

Holy moly! That was awesome 👏
Amazing performance. Very impressed, well done.
It ’s a video that was once posted on TH-cam many years ago? I was so excited to see this video. And he became his fan. Thank you!
I’ll join if you teach me this set!! I’m awestruck
what is the chanter tuned to?
3:18, the Breizh Banjo was Brilliant.

@@gordonstewart8258 It's not actually a different fingering, just chanter tape. Anyone can do it!
Wow
Can someone please tell me the name of the first tune?
Ceilidh Lines.
@@austindiepenhorst2494 Thank you! I appreciate it a bunch!
rather he can still play like this or not is irrelevant....what matters is, he knows HOW to play it, and therefore can teach it
