Donald if you're out there: Thank you! Fumbling around on the internet trying to find my first full Piob to play and stumbling upon this. I searched high and low and couldn't find sheet music for this, so I thought maybe just email the man himself and ask if he knew where a person might find a copy of this awesome tune. He sent me an email back that simply said "give me your address and I'll have one in the mail to you on monday." I replyed a big thank you and to let me know what a letter across the pond would cost but no reply. Instead a few weeks later an "as of 2012" copy of Donald's hand written notes with a little message about all Richard's accomplishments with the FMM band and a signature that said "Enjoy Playing the tune, Donald." Very nervously after running myself through Jim McGilvery's book of Piob Fingerwork, I made a best as could be "monkey see monkey do" recording for my would be Instructor, referencing this video . He'd been impressed at what I'd accomplished on my own but was quick to hone in on the trouble spots that could lead to bad foundations and long term bad habits. Although I have yet to compete with it listening back to it again I remember the inspiration it gave me to really dig into this tune. Fast forward 4 years later to were I'm more developed with the music, however by no means a master, and there's so much more to get out of it now. My instructor has brought this one up a few times and has even suggested trying to compete with it as well! To which I might take his advice!
Thanks again for the lovely tune, AND a signed copy in the mail Donald. Also thanks to the Channel for posting.

Hello, Sir. Would you be able to email me a copy of this sheet music? I’d be so appreciative. My journey with the big music sounds very similar to yours, lol.

I am a 'senior starter' who transitioned to the pipes a couple of weeks ago. My goal is to be able to play piobraireachd. Playing like this inspires me to strive for that goal.

As a piper, I can appreciate the work it takes to do something like that. Bravo!

Brother, I am a piper aswell and I fully agree. To produce a sound like this, the steady blowing and the finger technique takes at least 15 to 20 years. Donald is a great player. Well done.
