The last time I had a doggy engine on takeoff, it turned out it was a fuel flow issue. It had a small air leak on fuel line, it didn't leak fuel , but it allowed little air bubbles,to get in fuel line, once the clamps was all tight, it went to running smooth. Sometimes I'd just pull the line loose, cut it off about a half inch, and push it back on, clamp it , and boom, problem solved. Smooth sky's for ya Mike, gotta love them quicksilver's.
It was exciting. Every time the engine speed was reduced. heart began to beat... What is it? Does the engine stop? Something broke? ... and this is just a check of the engine operation))) However, I was worried))) 👍👍👍
Sounds good but which way? I adjusted the needle ring down one notch and it ran fine. A week later it didn't want to start cold. Had to prime it with a little starting fluid open choke until it started to fire. I moved the clip back up to the spot it was at before and it still doesn't like to start cold. I find I have to adjust the idle to get it to catch then once it's firing on both cylinders I can turn the idle down a little. This all started when I was trying to get my egt's down to a safe range and someone suggested I move the clip down one notch. Now she don't like to start without some help. I have a suspicion it's got to do with the season change as well.
@@jamesordwayultralightpilot I'm a mechanic and I've always been taught to never use starting fluid on an engine to start it. Check plugs, check compression and make certain pilot jet isn't plugged just never use starting fluid. It makes guys like me cringe when people do
@@jordonweets I would imagine it was a clogged jet before anything. It ran fine until the hurricanes came thru and I couldn't fly for a week and a half
@@karlschmidt7258 good to know. I did notice the fuel pump was trying to keep the line to the bowl full but could barely keep up. I then saw some stuff in the fuel filter and I'm suspecting my filter is just clogged. Probably should have changed it by now since it was new this year but the thing wasn't run in a few years the tank could have had some built up crap in it. So my new filter will be on tomorrow and I installed my old BRS onto the axle for extra safety out here in the sticks. These damn hurricanes have kept me on the ground since first week of September.
I love those short landings. made me laugh when you noticed the cow poo lol
Yeah I was waiting for him to reveal something crazy and it turned out to be cow shit. I was dyin

looking mighty good and just in time for much cooler Fall temps :-D
Ah, you make me dream with your flying machine ))) when I'll not be broke anymore, I've made up my mind to get one!
So, do people take lessons with these or just "wing it" and figure it out on their own? Looks fun as all get up!

That dirty elevator will clean right up with a little Couch-It-B-Gon
The Rotax will never be as smooth as the Hirth. 😉
How wide is your garage door. trying to figure out if i can stuff one through a 16 foot wide door fully assembly
Maybe its time to investigate the settings on your carburetor?

Run a little Sea Foam through it….does wonders for little jets and passages.
