Sure no one is indispensable, but good managers know how to hang onto good staff, especially those who go the distance for you. Losing Graham with no warning can only make for more work and headaches. By the book, insensitive and callous, but not too bright in people skills, this general manager.
What great staff, the unflappable Manager has great thoughtfulness! How kind to paint the portrait himself, unfortunately the little dog hasn’t the best of personalities! I adore dog’s but that’s one little beast of a dog lol 😂
No laundry, 60 departs between 5/of them? No wonder the rooms are filthy. I’ve been a housekeeper in hotels, all my life. That is disgraceful, expecting her staff to do all that, then moaning that it’s not up to scratch. A depart takes 30-40 minutes if it’s done right. Guests don’t leave until 10-11 o clock in the morning, so 4 hours to do them....disgraceful owner. 🤬
Did no one think to go to Graham's house and apologize, offer belated thanks, and ask him to come back? I think it's part of what's wrong with the hotel - that the staff are given the impression that they are not valued, are replaceable, like so many Lego blocks.
What kind of gross inefficiency is it that 1) runs out of toilet paper 2) forgets there's a corner shop that sells it 3) forgets to bring bags to carry them all home in?
Bet the unflappable manager doesn’t have to ever do 20 hour days in a stressful hot kitchen!?……so no wonder he’s baffled!……sits and reads management books, and that’s it!……clueless.
I'm not surprised Graham the chef left. No appreciation shown to him for the long hours he put in. The GM was incredulous to why he went, said he was a hard worker and appreciated, perhaps it might have been a good idea to tell him that instead of leaving all the mess for him to clean up after everyone had left. And who is the kid, only looked 12, what does he know about being a head chef, looks like he should be a school still? The Housekeeper could do with a few more brain cells, why go to the shop in the poring rain and not take any bags with you for the toilet rolls, or at least get them in the shop. No wonder the hotel is going down the pan, ( pardon the pun ) That lot couldn't run a church raffle, let alone manage an hotel? Btw, what happened to the other son of the boss, seemed like he disappeared too like his brother?
Stayed in this last year...was not impressed. Lift wasn't working and we were on floor 6 with 7 flights of stairs to climb, food was distinctly average and the dining room smelt of boiled cabbage, the bar, though open had no staff serving and the staff that were all foreign and seemed overworked. The so called cabaret consisted of one bloke singing over backing tracks and the advertised bingo was cancelled. The lady on reception though was a little gem and ended up rushing backwards and forwards between the two bars and the dining room...poor thing totally overworked. Non of the staff in this video were working there and i'm wondering is the place under new management, the place is now looking shabby and needs a makeover. The room we were in was acceptable though and was worth the (low end) price we paid for it.
When the owner takes over the hotel for her own birthday meaning the guests are put second tells you all you need to know. Oh and strippers. How classy.
Dont blame Graham. Staff need to be shown that they are appreciated. He worked so hard for the party. Best of luck Graham!
16:56 never thought I'd see someone panic buying toilet roll prior to 2020
This programme is hilarious. The comments are nearly as funny. Cheered me up no end..
love these programmes.

Only just watching this now..I love dogs but blooming heck..that dog needs good balance and guidelines in his life..blooming spoilt brat of a canine
12:17 the dog in the shop was lovely 🐕
Mark, the 10 year old head chef......Hillarious...........unless you're staying there !
This reminds me of the bloody awful hotels I trained in around 1977……grubby, grotty, and grim
nice metaphore with the stone!

7:33 That would look great on a table in the 1970s. Pity this was filmed 30 years later.
That bloody dog!🤣

I dread to think what the staff retention is like in this hell hole
She realt tried to carry al that toilet roll with no bag in the rain 🤦♂️
First thing i thought off pure numpty
She's not the brightest spark in the fire...seems to be a good worker though.
That 💩 present from Alan to Lady Mrs Walsh 🤣
When u realize you booked your weekend at Castle Dracula 🧛♂️
Well yes, her birthday dress is pretty much mortician Adams.
dog rejected the GM. hehe ;)
No shopping bags for the bog roll is insane 😂
What kind of gross inefficiency is it that 1) runs out of toilet paper 2) forgets there's a corner shop that sells it 3) forgets to bring bags to carry them all home in?
If she looks back and see s herself with that toiletroll run 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What happened to putting toilet roll in carrier bag especially when raining lol
No toilet paper the question is what is the GM doing in this establishment?
Dream Boys... more like giggling girls.
Edit... and WHAT they don't have bags at the store to put the toilet paper in???
that dog has serious anger issues
Where is Mr Walsh?
17:12 No harm done. People don't mind soggy bog paper that's probable got dog sh*t on it.
Mr Manager take those flowers to the kitchen yourself. The staff are busy. Maybe you could check the buffet at the same time.
The bog roll....nooooooo !!!!
They ought to stuff biggles in a birthday cake box with a couple of fireworks...
Force him through the bars at the lions' cage at the zoo, I'd think. Something useful!!! LOL
Up his ginger jacksie...horrible creature.
Really weird comment

Where was Graham’s help. Poor guy 😐

Even when this was first broadcast Blackpool were still 10 years behind the rest of the UK.
Mrs Walsh and Allan would be great together.
Mr biggles needs to be shaved and booted down the promenade!
Ginger rat.
Why doesn't the GM be useful & go & buy the toilet paper!
I’m surprised every single one of them staff haven’t walked out
The dog doesn’t care less that it isn’t going to the party. People are so weird with their dogs when they act like this.
Steph makes a much better looking woman than a man!
Typical in your face gay bloke who thinks he's better than he is.
Goodness me, such a tacky place and such tacky people. The owner didn’t seek out the chef to say thank you ? Tackiness from the top down.
OMG. That dog.
Mrs. Walsh was trying on dresses a size too small for the party, thereby making her a tart!
Mr Biggles is one ghastly dog!
Thank goodness these people do not work in hospitals!! People may die because of their lack of stress levels
16:56 shop sale toilet papers like that
That dog needs some help
...off the end of the pier, preferably!
....woof 🐕
Needs kicked to death
Anyone know what happened to Alan after this series?
Alan died in a Car accident unfortunately 😢
that nonsense with he toilet paper, what ineptitude.
Les the chief is my uncle
I thought Mrs Walsh was arrested for growing weed in the hotel
You have to treat your staff with respect no workers no business bosses should remember that
Mrs Walsh is so lovely lady, please get tough with your staff and tell them to tidy up the place, hire a proper GM
I don’t blame him

That Steph guy really is a joke, looks terrible
He died apparently...

That dog is so annoying
18.21 water filthy mucky cow
Her obsession with that nasty little dog is very annoying……not to say unhygienic as well!
in south we better. - is it satire
Pure cringe 😂
