  • I'm playing the Roland Rd 2000 through the KC 220 stereo amp as a demo to what they sound like together which is actually better than what your going to here on the recording . I kind of like the sound of the RD 2000 and KC220 together live .

    Nice demo, I just ordered one today. My daughter moved back in with me and I had to take down my PA (Mackie/Crown/JBLs) and setup in a smaller room. I mainly practice on an older RD-700GX with SuperNatural expansion. The 6.5" drivers in the KC-220 give me pause, but we will see. This amp will not see the road.

      The piano I used on the RD 2000 was the modelded stage piano, it sounds much better when I use the 2015 RD 1000 sampled piano other wise known as the Elton John piano, it should sound good on your GX because they are a bassier sounding piano and the 220 brings out the tone. I have a lot of keyboards so I have two KC 220 stereo amps they are nice sounding and lite weight.

    Hi Mike. Nice touch! I have a Dexibell Combo J7 and use a whole range of its sound capabilities and looking for something compact like the kc220 for mobiluty and one stop shop. Would have liked the Roland JC 40 but it's only good for the electric pianos but so so only for all the other sounds. You mentioned the kc sounds crap with your Dexibell indoors but ok outdoors. I wish to use it for home practice but also as monitor in worship environment. At church, it's going through line array active speakers but the electric pianos sound thin and weedy. So hoping to find solution like this for acoustic piano, strings, trumpets, wind instruments and both B3 organ sounds and pipes. Your thoughts are invaluable.

      Hi SC, I had a Dexibell S3 but it did not sound good through the KC 220, I needed to use a pair of Zxa1's to make it sound good.

    Yes, thanks. Nice playing. Do you think its strong enough to use as a stage monitor?

      Thanks, if its not a noisy bar it would work, you can run chords out the back if you want to another speaker or a mixer, when I played at the bar with a guitar player I ran cables out of the back into the mixer and the P.A. speakers and used it for a monitor.

    Good playing!
    Is this amplifier power enough to play with a band ?

      Thanks , I use it for a monitor but but it has stereo line outs you can run to a mixer if your in a band .

      If your in a loud band you will need something bigger , this is only 30 watts .

    Good demo. Hard to get through with the breathing on the recording device though. Haha

    This demo sounds thin on the low end. Are you able to EQ more bass into it, and does it just get boomy if you do?

    • @pianomikeoct
      @pianomikeoct  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats about as bassie as I could get it , the piano sounds better playing it through my EV ZXA1 speakers, I have two because it sounds better that way and you can get plenty of bass through them , but for a light weight easy to use practice amp that will handle multiple keyboards , I really like it.

    what's going to sound better for playing at home, an amp like this or monitors?

    • @pianomikeoct
      @pianomikeoct  ปีที่แล้ว

      Monitors will sound better especially if you get the high end brands like Genelec ,Focal,, Adams, they have cheaper brands that get a decent sound like Yamaha, maybe M audio ,Pre sonus.I use the amp because its only 30 watts and sometime I play in bands and use it for a monitor along with my EV ZXa1 monitors, which I use for playing out.

      @@FourthWayRanch See the mail could not find your address, so the short vision , I would not get the Behringer , get a cheap set of powered speakers , you probably have a stereo keyboard and they sound much better in stereo , my Kc 220 is stereo but powered speakers make it sound fuller.

      @@pianomikeoct OK, thanks, I want to spend around 500 bucks so getting monitors sounds like the way to go for my synthesizer (home use), thanks again.
