    I have recently purchased a KC110 for the just that reason of portability...and NOW, after seeing your video, and knowing I can extend my play time, my batteries, AND my wattage...well schukey darn...I'm a happy camper !!! Thanks Chuck.

    Loved this review. The power supply is a great idea. The 20w vs. 30w makes a lot of sense. But, I have also seen a frequent critique of the of the KC 120 is the limited volume. I have one and I have seen that too. However, the other night I was playing with some pedals that offered a strong boost to the signal. The KC tolerated this well with little distortion other than an occasional clip on the bass and delivered a lot louder volume. I'd be willing to bet that some boost reduces the battery life, but louder is more good 😄 Try one at a store and see. I've also noticed that the batteries start delivering lower volumes all the way to being too drained. Fresh batteries are key. The boost pedal solution makes sense because you're pushing 20w into an amp that can handle a lot more volume without overload and clipping. The Tab is a solid solution but it takes more work than adding some boost pedals.

    It would be really nice if you could do a comparison side by side of your keyboard with Roland KC-110 and a grand piano as far as quality of sound and volume of sound. Nobody on youtube has done anything like that yet.

    Thanks Chuck. Hope it's available in the UK. I'm picking up a KC-110 tomorrow.

    BTW, I appreciate your vids. They sold me on the Casio PX-5S. What a beautiful I instrument. I've never owned a Steinway, but now, I have a close faqsimile.

    I've used an Anker battery pack for years powering a Roland Mobile Cube at 9volts. The Mobile Cube requires negative tip at the plug so I needed to chop the cable and reverse the wires.
    Anker Pro Series also has 12volt output, but will not supply 9v and 12v simultaneously.
    If I busk for 4 hours the Anker only uses about 6℅ of it's capacity.

    Hi, What model did you use in this video of the RaVPower and is it still available? I recently pushed my roland FP7 around our neighborhood with my 93 year young sax player. I used a APC 1000 watt battery backup unit. It worked, because the beep was disabled. We did 10 mini concerts of maybe 10 minutes each I was thinking of buying a dedicated UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for my keyboard and a powered speaker. The Roland KC sounds great on your other videos (comparing the cube with the KC). I miss my KC-550, but not the weight. Thanks for what you do.

    Aloha buddy, what Output Voltage do you need to select on the Ravpower bank to power this KC 110 Amp. Also exactly what tip do you need to Use for the Amp? Did you find a better PowerBar since doing this Video? . Thanks and Aloha.

    Hello, Thank you for sharing. I just purchase the Roland amp. Can you help telling me how you connect your RaVPower power to the Roland KC-110 please? Where can I purchase that cable with the right connector to the KC-110? Thank you

    What do you think of the Roland Cube Street EX in comparison to the Roland KC-110 for street busking? Both are priced quite similarly, but the Street EX has 50 W compared to the 30 (available through your method) on the KC-110. Would love to hear your opinion on this and whether you think the KC-110 is good enough/better acoustically for a keyboard/piano. Thanks!

    I don't know if you got my post, but I liked the KC-110 so much, I bought a second to add to my setup for a modest PA system with my Zoom R24... that with my Casio PX-5S and WK-7600 make a dream setup for me. The KC-110 might be improved by using 10" woofers, instead of 6.5"...

      +Howard Collingsworth - Awesome setup! The beauty of that is that everything is battery operated, so you're all set for power failures, or recording/playing anywhere where there's no AC power. Congrats!

    Thanks for the tip, Chuck. Is the correct adapter included with the RAVPower package, or did you find/purchase that separately? I've lost my original power cord and adapter for my KC-110 and have had no luck finding a replacement.

    Will a single RaVPower power BOTH a Roland KC-110 and a Privia PX-360 at the same time or would you need 2 RavPower units?

    Out of the box, the RavPower does not connect to the KC-110. Can you tell us the brand and model of the adapter plug or cable you are talking about? Thank you.

    • @PianoManChuck
      @PianoManChuck  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +GrassRootsMusicTV - Check the many adapters that were included in the box, only one will fit. If you didn't get a bunch of adapters, you either ordered the wrong model, or you'll need to contact the folks at RavPower.

    The RavPower RP-PB14 is no longer produced by RavPower. Is there another RavPower Model which can do the same or in other words is suitable for the Roland KC 110 and the KC 220? Thanks

    • @PianoManChuck
      @PianoManChuck  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No... unfortunately they're getting away from these models. My new recommendation is the DieHard 1150 (which supplies 400 watts and can power a lot more than just your Roland speakers). Tradeoff: size/weight. Check out my review here: th-cam.com/video/TWB6zSgaFSY/w-d-xo.html

      Vinster Thai You don't, and it does not run on usb either.
      The Ravpower is like a portable AC adapter that powers the Privia.

      PianoMan - Do you know if the Rav Power pack will work with the Roland Juno DS 88? I believe it is DC. Based on your videos, I am thinking I will buy the KC-150 and 2 x Rav Power packs. I know this review was done a few years back; are there any newer powerpacks, amps or keyboards you would recommend for busking without a power outlet?

    I got the amp and I am sorry I did! It's got a muddy bass sound and it's definitely not suitable for live performances, period. Unless ran through a p.a.

  • @voltageconcepts3807
    @voltageconcepts3807 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great way to fry your gear and void your warranty on the amp, keyboards and charger.. The charger is just that -- a CHARGER... it is meant to charge cell phones and tablets, not power a high drain device like an amp. You should only use the included power supplies -- stuff like this works.. until it doesn't and then you are left with thousands of dollars worth of fried equipment.

    • @PianoManChuck
      @PianoManChuck  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Paul Hill The KC-110 operates on AA batteries, that's one of its selling points. Last I checked AA batteries are not for high-drain devices. And Ravpower is not limited to charging - it is also a DC Power Supply which is one of its selling points. Get your facts straight.
