According to the actor who played as the Priest, when they are going to shoot the last scene 'which is the girl apolozing' the director asks almost all of the crew to go outside the venue leaving only the Director, the two actors and camera men, the director instructed the two to just say whatever they want to each other genuinely since they didn't have any proper closure in real life when they broke up. There's no script to be memorized there and all of the lines was adlibs. I think the reason why this hits so hard is because we can feel the pain of these two, they are not acting, they are broadcasting their own life using this music video

When joshua said "kailangan ko" it was one of the most painful scene-word in this mv. Precisely letting go of the person you have never imagined losing and yet coming to into it's dead end. The pain is unbearable. Relinquishing and giving up someone you have dreamt with you in the future. And when moira said " Pinapatawad, pinapalaya, pinapaubaya" it reflects to the art of letting go. Life things And people around you are either temporary or lasting. It may be too painful to but at the end, no matter how we try to accept the facts, the willingness to spend the rest of our lives with the one person if he's not in God's plan it will never be. We could say that moira is the LITERALLY the soundtrack of their life right now 😢. The couple is close to moira that is probably why they said yes to the MV
- their first dance together was on the girl’s 20th bday & it was Moira who sang it (Perfect by ed sheeran which became the couples’ song for each other)
- their first movie together that made the couple as well as moira’s career succesful is love you to the stars and back has a remake song called Torete which was sung by Moira(she was their personal pick for the themesong of the movie)
- and now for their moving on song Paubaya. Reading the lyrics & having tidbits of their reltionship makes you really think that it is their story.
Although people are saying that there was cheating, i really don’t think it is. More on bad timing that is why it looks like cheating. My point of view from their dialogue:
- The girl said sorry she was lost and in the end had no more energy to go on. Real talk, it was her first project outside their loveteam. probably lost because you get into the character and as much a good actors they are, there will always be a part that they get affected from their scenes that is why you need to learn to shake it off (i remember this from sarah g interview if she had feelings for jlc 😂). I do think she fought that attraction that time, BUT when the rumors started the guy got jealous and the girl got tired of defending herself from his accusations that is why she ended it and just tried to be friends again.
- The guy said sorry because he was jealous. He probably did not talk to her and such so he was not there when the rumors piled up on her & it was viscious months really, especially when the other couple had a public breakup as well, talk of the year. I think he was overwelmed with jealousy so i think he was sorry he gave up on their relationship without giving the time to fix it.
- the guy forgiving her, probably because after 2 years she still ended up with the guy he got jealous with.
- the girl forgiving him, probably because he gave up without a fight. I have a feeling they could still have been together if they tried more, that’s the difference. ✌🏻😅
What you said really hit me. It makes sense why Josh keep apologizing in this video. No one knows what really happened between them and if the issue of her alleged cheating is true(considering what you say about bad timing) To think she faced all those issues of her linked to the guy(which was not true at that time maybe)and the harsh bashing from their fans(you know how die hard filipinos are for their love teams)and her bf having no patience to deal with it and just leaving her to face the issues by herself. I swear, all Filipinos felt the story more than the actual song. Although the song gives so much justice to their break-up because to be honest, their break-up was so messy. It's like, it happened very fast without clear reasons and all are circulating within the opinions of people especially their fans as they are one of the famous loveteams here in the PH. all people were shocked. Me myself, all I know was Julia cheated. (that's my speculation) since Gerald and Julia were reportedly dating before and after JoshLia's breaking-up. But now that this happened. MJ interviewed them and both admitted that there was no third party. Now, why can't you believe them? Yes, it was a shock because both are amazing actors, and their chemistry onscreen and offscreen is undeniable. Moira also changed the lyrics of the last line. On the original song, it was "pinapaubaya, pinapaubaya, pinapaubaya ko na sa kanya."
Which is translated as "I am leaving it all up to her (the new girl)".
The new line was " pinapatawad, pinapalaya, pinapaubaya ko na sa Kanya (Notice the capital letter K)".
Which translates to "forgiving you, setting you free (pertains to the guy).."
Note: Our pronouns such as 'kanya' or him/her is gender neutral. And if you change its first letter to a capital, it will pertain to God.

Back story:
Josh and Julia were actually reel to real couple (aka Joshlia). They have been together for more than 3 years. Everyone loved them for their great chemistry but when Julia got casted in a movie with a different leading man (Gerald Anderson) everything went 180° and people started hating Julia. Apparently, Gerald and Julia developed romantic feelings for each other while they were still both in a relationship with Bea Alonzo and Josh, respectively.
When josh says that he didn't even got to protect her, he was referring to that time when Julia got bullied by people on social media for allegedly ruining Gerald and Bea's relationship and not giving Josh closure.
These all happened over a year ago. So this is essentially the closure people have been wanting Joshlia to have.

so their break up was very controversial. Even though they did broke up in a healthy way and in good terms, bunch of rumours pop off the reason of why they broke up, the worst one is third party, it even involved some actors. It got out of the hand to the point where Julia received so much hate, she even left social media for a few weeks, that’s why Joshua said in the video “im sorry i wasn’t able to protect you”. Because of the controversy, they become distant and awkward to each other. I think that they would still be good friends if the rumours didn’t happened and i still believe that they still love each other, just right person in wrong timing.

Actually Moira was very close to the two coz she witnessed their love story from the start that's why they said yes to this and it's for their closure and somehow an answer to the fans to a very hot topic before. She was even the one who sang their official theme song on their movie way back entitled "Love You to the Stars and Back" and the song is "Torete", you could check it here in youtube and it's available in their official trailer. I think it was 2017. Just a quick backstory of the two. They're relationship was on a rough road when Julia was rumored then to have a third party which is also an actor whose name is Gerald Anderson. There were many issues and evidences about that and it leaked on social media specially on instagram and facebook way back then. Add to that Gerald Anderson was also in a relationship that time as well to a famous actress whose name is Bea Alonzo. It's like people were watching them on social media throwing shades and so on. Coz apparently Julia and Bea that time posted shady status and stories on socmed. And Bea liked some of the evidences by their fans showing photos of Julia and Gerald together hugging and doing some stuff that made a conclusion that yes those two were cheating on Joshua and Bea.
