      Thanks so much for watching! It's up to you what you want to sell, but I teach on my channel how to sell Print on Demand. I have very thorough step-by-step tutorials that will help you get your shop up and running and to start making daily sales. I’ve had the most success selling t-shirts and sweatshirts.
      I plan on making more digital product videos in the coming year! I will be sure to make more trend research ones as well. I hope this helps!

    You are the only TH-camr that tells the truth that Everbee's monthly revenue numbers DO NOT account for sales discounts. There are so many content creators pushing everbee that don't tell the truth about the accuracy of the monthly sales numbers. Your video shows the proper way to account for potential revenue. I will watch more of your videos just based on your honesty. Thank You.

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks so much for watching and for your support! I would love for them to be able to account for potential sales discounts, but it is tricky because seller's prices can always change and they could be running a sale for a few days vs several days so it’s a little more difficult to track. With that being said though, it is still an extremely valuable tool to be able to find top performing listings and trends! Thanks for your comment! I wish you the best this new year!

    That last store is literally a 3 minute drive from me, and I never knew how popular they were on Etsy 🤣 To be clear, they're NOT POD, they make everything in-house, are VERY attentive to quality, and excellent with customer requests. They have a brick & mortar store, they work CRAZY hours, and have a small staff, so that's def not a model that would be run out of a home and they actually end up working more time than a normal 9-5.

    Although the revenue numbers seem really high. I think some of the newer stores are using paid ads to bring in customers. They could have built a social media following or e-mail list and made organic sales but most likely they are doing paid ads somewhere bringing the total profit numbers much lower than what we are seeing in the revenue numbers.

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lindsay! That is a great point; the total revenue I calculated did not account for potential ad spend. Showing if a seller is running ads or not would be an awesome feature Everbee should add in the future! Regardless if they are running ads or not, you know that those ads are converting and customers are buying the specific listing and categories I showed. I still think the examples I showed are great digital product recommendations that you could consider selling in the coming year as they have proven data that shows they're performing well. Thanks so much for your input and for watching! I wish you the best this new year!

      Yeah, it’s the same old story, I’m afraid; it takes money to make money. I’ve been in POD for decades now (not really pushing as hard as I could have, though) and can still only dream of making this sort of money. What very little I’ve spent in online advertising in many markets has never brought in enough sales to cover the cost.

    • @iralamija

    i sell on etsy - craft supplies and jewelry
    i've had over 5k sales and im working on adding some digital products (my main focus is digital stickers, possibly a planner and notebook to go along with them - i already sell some stickers on my ko-fi and people like them, but it has no reach compared to my etsy.., hoping eventually to add digital pet portraits like the one in my profile picture - just need to cut down my painting time! that one took about 12 hours.... far too long for a one-off commission, but that one was a gift for my best friend)
    ive done print on demand (off etsy) for years already but i don't want to add that kind of thing to my existing etsy because i have 750+ physical products that i make myself and ship on my own, so it would be really confusing to customers
    i think my biggest concern with digital products is just how etsy has a file limit (5 files, up to 20mb each..) and a lot of people aren't necessairly trusting of using google drive or dropbox :/

    This is a great video showing which niches are killin' it on Etsy. I'm blown away by that digital planner example, WOW. I'm sure it's one to follow for sure. I have an Etsy store started back in 2019 but each listing is for a physical product that I paint on and ship it out myself. And as you can imagine, this takes a LOT of time to do, and the returns is not that great, though a small profit can be had.
    I'm thinking of creating a new store selling digital products, and since my love for art is high, was wondering if digital art or planners is the way to go.
    Hmm, some things to consider.

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Stuart! There is a lot of money to be made in the digital product world! You do need to create something unique and different in order to stand out and succeed. The digital planner example I shared is extremely impressive! I almost didn’t want to share it, it's so good. 😂 That is so awesome you have your own handmade Etsy shop! Selling physical products that you create is definitely more work but can be very rewarding if you don’t mind the work or use it as a creative outlet. You need to make sure you're charging for the value you're bringing! I highly recommend doing your research and figuring out what type of digital product you can create and sell. It's definitely still work, but can become very passive after you do the upfront work! As for running with digital art or digital planners, why not try both? You can see which one does better for you and then go all in. You could also consider which one you enjoy making more so you can maintain it long-term. I wish you the best! This is your year! Thanks so much for watching!

    I just got the Star Seller badge on my POD store.. good news but I’ve only made 49 sales in 1 year. And I probably make 10% profit per sale. So it’s not difficult to figure out I may as well just switch to digitals, without the hassle of print providers and customer service.
    I started another store but I simply do not have time to work full time, be a dad and run 2 Etsy shops + other hustles. So my question is.. would you suggest I just phase out my clothing and bring in digitals?
    Thanks again Brenon, I’m a fan.

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Congrats on receiving the Star Seller badge and congrats on your 49 sales! How much time would you say you have been putting into your POD store? I personally would recommend sticking with your POD store and opening a separate shop for digital products, but I do understand you are extremely busy and why you may not want to do that. I just have seen how much opportunity and potential there is with POD so that’s why I would recommend sticking with it. At the same time though, if digital products are more appealing to you because of the reasons you mentioned, then go for it! As you saw in this video, there is a TON of money to be made with digital products. This is a hard question for me to answer because both have the opportunity to be extremely lucrative but I totally understand if you don’t have the time for both. If you feel like you have given your POD store as much attention as needed and you’ve done everything you can and still feel like you’re running uphill, then I would consider switching 100% over to digital products. From what I've experienced, most people's biggest issue if their shop is struggling is not creating relevant designs that people want and are searching for. The recipe for having a successful POD shop is to create trending designs that someone wants to buy, using high-quality mockups, and using proven SEO. If you can master these three things, you will see your store start to take off. Ultimately, I believe that the business model that pays but also gives you the most freedom and flexibility to honor your priorities is the most valuable. Let me know what you decide to do! I'm rooting for you! You got this!

      @@flickwtchr Yeah, you can! I think it's important to state your terms in the listing. I also think wall art is a little different than selling your POD designs in the same listing because it's pretty typical to offer both a digital download option they can print themselves or a physical copy option, but you won't really be able to regulate whether they share or re-sell the file or not. Hopefully most people will honor the terms you set!

    Hi Brenon, these ideas are really great, thank you for your insight and your great attitude as a TH-camr! I was just wondering what you think - I started using Everbee today, and the data is provides is great. However, the one thing it doesn't show is keyword / product competition, so using the extension, you have no way of knowing how much competition you are up against. I think that is pretty essential as something like Presets looks great on paper with a high volume of searches, but in reality it might be too difficult to get your product seen because of the competition. I was just wondering your thoughts on this when using the extension?

    • @brenondopp

      Hi Joe! I agree with you that going into a niche with high competition may be more difficult, however I’m a firm believer anyone can stand out in any niche if they can create something that is unique and different enough. There are other tools out there like Sale Samurai and e-Rank that can give you more data on competition, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to bringing something new to the table in order to have success. Find what is working and improve upon it to make it better or different and you will succeed. If you haven’t watched the intro to this video I did yet, I highly recommend it. I agree, how flooded is the market is important to take in consideration.
      The other important factor, how much is being spent with online advertising? It's foolish to think simply creating a product will sell itself. This is NOT the movie to Field of Dreams - Build it and they will come (LoL).
      Advertising and Marketing is KEY to bring in paid customers. WHY is keywords, social media posting, paid ads on social media, etc not mentioned? These factors are just important (if not more important) to have a successful product.

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Clare! When first starting out, I personally recommend being willing to experiment with a handful of different products and niches in one store. After doing so and finding something that works, you can then double down on it and run with it. For example, when we first started out, we listed clothing, mugs, wall art, stickers etc. and then had some good success with sweatshirts and t-shirts so we started creating more of that. Now, we mostly just sell sweatshirts and t-shirts. Not everyone is the same though and maybe mugs will take off for you so that’s why I say to be willing to experiment! I also highly recommend not limiting yourself to just one niche because it will prevent you from designing in a lot of trending niches and reaching more potential customers. I hope this makes sense! At the end of the day, it’s entirely up to you what you would like to do. I wish you the best! Thanks for watching!

    Great video, Brennon! Going into 2023 and per your experience so far in POD, What are your thoughts on focussing on a single POD vertical like apparels(t-shirts, hoodies, socks) and then creating designs for multiple niches like sports and outdoor enthusiasts designs, dog dad and dog moms, baby & mom tees for this single POD vertical ? Or would you suggest sticking to only 1 niche rather like a POD store for dog owners and selling different POD items like tees,mugs,stickers, hoodies etc for multiple breeds and multiple designs on this store? I believe going into 2023 it will be extremely important as a store owner to go all in on presence on social media channel due to increased competition on Etsy so I am thinking if I focus only on 1 niche then it would be much better for my social media strategies but would like to hear your thoughts on the above since you have years of experience in this POD space, thanks ahead of time!

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I 100% recommend creating a general store on Etsy and tapping into several different niches and products. It is so important to experiment to find what works. After doing so and you find something that sells really well for you, then you can consider niching down and doubling down on it. We first started out with a niche specific store but then we shifted to a general store, and that is when we started to see success and consistent sales. Don’t limit yourself to what you can sell is my personal opinion. I understand your concern with it being easier for social media and building a brand, but still I think it is smart to create a general store unless you already have a niche you are super familiar with and know will do well. If you're wanting to build a brand on social media, people connect with your brand if they connect with you. If you want to run with a niche you're passionate about and can connect to your following with, then maybe you can consider niching down from the start. This is my personal opinion though, so do whatever you think is best for you! The biggest perk of creating a general store is it enables you to have endless options of designs and products you can create. After several months of selling, we honed in on what was working for us and you will most likely end up doing the same, with which you can then consider really building your brand with if you'd like. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    so im going to be starting in etsy mainly starting with digital products but i was also thinking on doing something with printify and printful as well. do you think it would be best to have two seperate shops for both digital and printify products or maybe have it all in one shop just in different categories?

      It's up to you! Personally, I would open a separate store specifically for print on demand to keep my two shops cohesive and make it easier/cleaner for me to run them both, but that's just my opinion. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    I was shocked with how much Etsy take per sale, sold my first digital item for 4.50 only to receive 0.70 after all the deductions

      Hi! Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee any time your listing sells, a 6.5% Transaction Fee, and a 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee. It’s important to know your total fees before deciding on what you want to charge to ensure you are making the profit that you want. There are a few great profit calculators you can use that will account for all Etsy fees to help you price your products correctly. I've been using Everbee's calculator if you want to check it out! Here's a link: www.everbee.io/?via=brenon You'll be required to make a free account in order to use it, but the calculator is free to use and very useful. All things considered, I think it is well worth the fees to be able to sell on a massive market place with 40 million + buyers. I hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching!

      Hi! Yes, you are able to use the Everbee tool on an iPhone! To use EverBee on Mobile, you need to go to EverBee.io and then sign in to your account and from there you can do research with their Product Analytics tool. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    Is there a way to find out if an Etsy seller uses ads to promote their product and how much they spend on advertising?

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lee! As of now, there is no way that I know of. This would be a great tool to create though! The only way you can know if they are running ads is if you see it in search results with the “Ad by Etsy seller” beneath the listing. This won’t tell you how much they are spending on ads though. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for work, I was wondering if corel draw and corel draw photo work for creating digital products beside illustrator and canva.
    Thank you

      Hi! I’ve never personally used Corel draw but it looks like it is a more technical design tool like Illustrator. If that’s the case, then yes, it should work great! Thanks so much for watching! I wish you a successful 2023!

    Question: I just bought an iPad and downloaded Procreate. If I need vectorized art to list (without the pixels), do I need to use Illustrator for my ipad?
