Here is an article that will help explain Etsy’s current fees to sell on their platform: www.etsy.com/legal/fees/#fee-types Using Everbee's profit calculator and plugging in $6, it shows the total Etsy fees as $1.02 ($0.20 listing fee + $0.39 transaction fee + $0.43 payment processing fee) leaving you with a $4.98 profit. question: how you do the wall art mock up frame? (with 3 frames) It looks cool.

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! You make the 3 frame mockup the same way you do a single frame mockup. You can use an automatic mockup generator program like Placeit or Kittl to make it, or you can download a blank mockup image from a stock image/design resource site like Creative Fabrica, Creative Market, or Shutterstock and then manually add your designs using a design program. There are tons of mockup options to choose from! This specific one I got from Create Fabrica and then manually added my art in a separate design program like Canva. I have links in my description for free trials to both of these if you want to check them out. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

    Hi Brenon, do you offer the 35$ Free Shipping Guarantee in your shop? I do and I'm struggling with that. When I offer a 15% discount on my items, then once people order 2 things (above 35$) and get free shipping I make hardly any profits, considering 6.5% Etsy fees as well, and the 10$ shipping I have to pay. And if I price my items even higher I end up way more expensive than the others. Considering I'm a new shop trying to grow this is tough! What do you suggest and what is your personal experience?

    • @tastycooking27
      @tastycooking27 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't sell t-shirts, but handmade ceramics. When I started out I added shipping fees to each item and was doing well. Then with more reading about free shipping, I decided to give it a try. After I had gotten many sales and reviews, I decided to try out the free shipping. I increased my product prices to include the shipping fees (about $4.85) and made each product free shipping. Sales have slowed since, but still come in. However, I cannot blame the slow in sales on the shipping change 100%.

    Are Etsy customers really that tech savvy that they’re buying digital downloads to have printed on canvas or whatever by a print shop? I just have to highly doubt that. What’s really going on here?

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Yes, 100% they are and this is an extremely valid business model. It is a very common process on Etsy and I personally know plenty of people who have done it themselves (including my wife and mother-in-law 😆). You can go and look at top performing digital wall art shops and see their total sales/reviews to help validate this idea. A lot of customers like to purchase digital downloads rather than physical prints so they can have access to the print file immediately. They can then use their own printer or send it to a local printer for quick printing without needing to wait for a physical print to be shipped to them. They can also make as many prints as they want and it tends to be more affordable in the long-run. I hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching!

    The market is so saturated now, especially with all the videos like this coming out, that there's zero sales now. I've worked 18 hours a day for 3 months and the sales are next to nothing. This is great for TH-cam video people like this guy to get people to make money through his affiliate links, but be prepared to waste a lot of time on this venture.

    • @brenondopp
      @brenondopp  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and feelings on this! I've seen a lot of individuals enter a saturated market and still find success, myself included. Will it take more thought and strategy? Yes, but there is still so much opportunity on Etsy if you are able to set yourself apart enough, follow trends and find winning niches, make something different, and/or improve upon what is already working. I've seen a lot of shops that have started fairly recently that have found success because they were able to find their niche in the digital product space and create something of value that customers want. I'm very impressed by the amount of time and effort you have put into your business and you should be proud of the energy you have put into it! That's a big commitment and requires a lot of discipline! With that though, I would be willing to bet that the reason for not making sales isn't because the market is too saturated, but because you are missing a part of the formula. This could be anything from not creating what people are searching for and wanting to buy, not creating high-quality listings with proven SEO, not using professional mockups that stand out, etc. There are a lot of factors that go into creating a high-quality listing that converts.
      I promise there is still so much opportunity on Etsy, especially in the digital product space! I'm sorry you feel the way you do about this tutorial I created. I want you to know that I only share ideas and tools that I think are valuable or that I'm personally doing/using and I would never share anything just for "clicks." Yes, this is a sponsored video, but I recommend Kittl to my community because I find value in the tool itself and what it enables you to do as a designer and seller. It saves me a lot of time and allows me to create designs at a higher-quality level than if I were to make them completely on my own. My advice for you is to keep with your shop and don't quit too soon because you think the space is too saturated. You could be just one design away from changing the course of your shop. I wish you the best and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on my video!

      You definitely have to like creating AI more than the expectation of making a lot of money. If not, it could be seen as a waste of time. Some would argue that you’re not creating anything. There are alot of haters. Several shops, from what I’ve seen, selling AI art are limping along. It’s really hard to figure out what people would like & do you want to go that route. I saw one TH-camr demonstrating Outer Space imagery that seems to be selling posters exceptionally well, according to the stats. Do I want to put my energy into that…not really.

      Hi Lezzi! Are you asking why a customer wouldn't just generate the art themselves? It’s just like any service or product; a customer will pay for convenience and to save time. Also, some customers have no idea how to go about the process of creating a print or a digital download. It’s a great question, but trust me, there are extremely successful digital download shops on Etsy with plenty of paying customers. Thanks for watching!

    So when you create the largest size in each ratio aspect, you don't need to specify what the corresponding ratio is...because Kitll does it automatically, because it already knows? This is the part that I find confusing. I am an artist (watercolors) and I would like to take my own art and turn them into digital downloads. How do you do all this without using Kitll?

      Hi! I hope I'm understanding your question correctly, but when you make the canvas the largest size in each aspect ratio, the canvas will automatically adjust to be the correct aspect ratio for that size and can also be used for each smaller size within that ratio without losing any quality. The idea is you only need to create 5 files (1 for each ratio) and make sure you properly name each file so that your customer knows what ratio it is. Within the downloaded files, you can include a PDF explaining what print sizes fall into which aspect ratios and how to go about printing the file on their own.
      Unfortunately I’m not positive on how you would convert your own watercolor art into a digital download because I’ve never personally done this before, but here is a good article I found that explains how to do it and it seems pretty straight forward. You either need to scan your artwork or take photos of it and upload it to your computer, and then you can resize/create the different files for the sizes you want to offer. susanchiang.com/blog/how-to-digitize-watercolor-paintings This person used Photoshop to crop/edit her art.
      Kittl is not the only design program; there are many others you can use like Canva. I just like that within Kittl you can specify the DPI. I hope this helps and I wish you the best! Thanks for watching!

    Just wanted to comment that if it was easy to make 19k a month you wouldn't have a youtube channel as a side hustle but happy for you, like and subscribe etc etc
