That is not true that you loose motivation when you get money for your hobby, it actually increases. You do loose interest when you actually depend on the money to live and pay for bills. Because than you have to force yourself to do these hobbies on days when you dont feel like doing them.

I felt this way when they talked about it... but again this puts a fake pressure too. I mean there are situations where anybody can be both privileged and underprivileged. So when a situation is unravelling to become unfair you should be allowed to talk or complain about it. You shouldn't always suck it up, shrug it off like nothing's happening and get on with your life. It's like her mom's situation where she fought in courts for her husband...

It started with her mother. She refused to give up. Nor did she give in to complaining and patheticism. Had she done so, Patricia would be the opposite woman today. Most girls mode their mothers. They all are dynamic for staying together and working through what seemed impossible. ❤️

Say what you want about Patricia, but I really honor the way in which she casually mentions in various conversations that she sees a therapist. For those of us with African backgrounds, it is a good thing to have this as part of a conversation. It helps to decrease the stigma that many still have concerning mental health and well being. Keep being you, Patricia. We’re all a work in progress.
Its a shame that Patricia doesnt feel comfortable sharing much anymore because people want “relatable influencers” some of us are inspired that and we are now missing out on that. I totally see what you mean and I think Patricia has been so generous sharing her ups and downs, but I totally respect the fact that she'd like to be more behind the scenes and that she's got no particular desire in being famous. That's the sign of maturity and the sign of someone who's probably not insane. Also, my guess is that once you become a mother, things shift. It's not just about her.
It's validating that she spoke about having a finance degree and not knowing how to manage personal finance. When I graduated with my degree I was riddled with imposter syndrome because I couldn't manage my finances at all, despite being on top of things at work. I felt clueless
Wow so inspiring, such similar stories, my mum and Dad are both Nigerian, my Dad wasn’t deported....but he had to leave the country due to immigration problems (as he over stayed when he was studying), he had to go when I was 7, and he didn’t get to come back to the UK until I was 17 years old. My mum had to raise us and spent most of the years fighting for him to come back, going to court over and over, eventually when we moved homes, Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott helped with the case...and my Dad was able to come back. When he came back he worked as a College Lecturer and now he’s now semi-retired and works part time, he has always been into having faith God and has instilled faith into us. My dream now is to help others who have been through immigration issues. Thanks for this, what a great episode.🙏🏽❤️

i soooo agree with mike ! i remember when i first watched patricia's video, i felt like i was in my friend's bedroom and she was showing me what she just bought and those kinds of girl friends experience has always been fun to me. i love going shopping even if i am not buying i enjoy it. Patricia makes it feel so casual thats how i got hooked. Sometimes i was at home, alone and stressed about life and her videos got my minds of of things and made me feel better ( like a regular day shopping with your friend would do but this time I got to choose the schedule !). i think its important she shows her success as well because it feels good to literally watch someone grow , it makes "growth" so much more relatable!

I used to follow her BritPopPrincess days, I think she was one of the first/early UK hair growth girls. I stopped following as much her success but watching this makes me feel proud for her success.

Something that I get from all your podcasts is how intelligent and articulate nearly all your guests are, what an amazing and inspirational women! I'm British but my children grew up in Greece with me and their Greek father, they have all recently moved to the UK and have all found fantastic jobs and see great possibilities too, it saddens me sometimes to listen to the voices of many in the UK and politicians slagging off our great country. Something that I get from all your podcasts is how intelligent and articulate nearly all your guests are, what an amazing and inspirational women! I love that that many migrants who come to the country see the UK as a land of opportunity. I'm British but my children grew up in Greece with me and their Greek father, they have all recently moved to the UK and have all found fantastic jobs and see great possibilities too, it saddens me sometimes to listen to the voices of many in the UK and politicians slagging off our great country. Thank you once again for a great podcast Steven, better than anything on the TV 😊

this is a conversation that i needed to hear wow... i feel like ive been having this exact same conversation in my head for my whole life ' dont see reality as a definition of a limitation for yourself' and when she spoke about the different categories of privilege wow, i really think that conversation should be had more.
