This was a very interesting video for many reasons. 1) The brakes are rusty and the wheels had spider webs. The car has been sitting for a while. 2) We did not see the hybrid battery being removed; maybe it was already removed? 3) We do not see the air conditioning system degassed. 4) It is mentioned that the glass is bulletproof. This is not normal for an LS600h. 5) It has large handles on the back of the front seats, which are not normal for this model. 6) It is the long wheel base version. 1, 2 and 3 would tell me the car was decommissioned a while before it was transported to the dismantling yard. Possibly the air conditioning gas naturally leaked out of the system. I think that this car was likely a very special edition, possibly for government or VIP use. If it has bulletproof glass, it probably has other protection which makes it very heavy. So the entire drivetrain and suspension are more heavily loaded and may not last as long. Japan is very thorough about dismantling cars fully before crushing. Usually, a lot of parts are removed from the car before it is crushed. The bumpers, doors, front wings, sometimes the seats (if they do not have airbags) are removed. But - if this is a "bulletproof" car then the doors will be heavier and have no resale value, so they are left on the car. We can see that the wings, bumpers, rear lights, exhaust, rear axle, prop shaft, and tool kit(!) were removed before it was crushed. (Shame about the lights on the boot door). In this car there are a lot more ECUs and electronics that I would expect to be removed for specialist recycling. For example, the contactless ECUs in the doors, the seat memory ECUs, the touchscreen system, the amplifier and navigation computer in the back. There are a lot of saleable parts in the interior. In other countries these would be left on the car (especially the USA) but Japan is usually very thorough. So I do not think this was a "normal" LS600hL, and I would like to know more about it and why it was scrapped!
The reason this Lexus ended up as scrap could be due to excessive mileage (over 100,000 km) or serious problems with the drivetrain, where the cost of repairs exceeds the value of the car. Even if the car looks clean, it is often considered worthless in Japan and is frequently scrapped. However, any parts that are still usable are removed and may be reused as second-hand parts.
@@skyrocket9084 Given that it's possibly armoured I can definitely see there would be wear on the drive train. But, it's still a Lexus and super reliable. My LS430 has over 210,000 miles on it, and I expect it to do a least another 100,000. :) I will say tho that Japan is one of the few countries that recycles its cars properly. Other countries should follow the example Japan sets.
Why is this beautiful car disassembled? It seems that there's no damage to it.

Good luck 👍👍
