She is so polite in person, I went up to her at a party gushing about her and she was so gracious.

I love her. She makes you want to give her all the respect you possibly can just by being there and being who she is. I don't even like the way she dresses or her hair but she makes it all look amazing just with the way she carries herself.

Wow!! I know now why I love her. She is so unique and just lives her life so naturally and organically. So inspiring to anyone who wants to live life in the moment.

I really don't see the negative things some of you are saying about Katie. I'm British, and this seems just a simple conversation between two people. I think Tilda is such a generous person, so completely unself-conscious and seems to listen and engage with Katie so naturally. I don't see this jarring difference. Maybe we all need to take a leaf from Tilda and not be so judgmental. That's why I love Tilda!

I am absolutely intrigued by her outlook on life and film. I feel like she is so humble and has such a gentle and elegant presence. her voice is quite hypnotizing, and i adore it. however, it bothers me a bit that katie spoke over her and sort of put words in her mouth.

I do find some flaws here and there in the interview, but this interview did gave me almost 30 minutes of hearing Tilda speak about herself. And I love to hear her speak. Her whole presence and aura and her personality, it is all very intriguing. AND HER HAIR MAI GAWD :O
    Love it :)

I loved her in "Orlando" too, and I told her that when I met her in NYC on the set of "Okja" a few weeks ago. She thanked me and looked so touched. Such an incredible being!

Not so much an intelligence difference as a cultural and class difference, I think. Nothing unusual in the language Tilda employs or the ideas she espouses, for her class. We've just witnessed Ms. Swinton managing, quite artfully, to wrangle a lengthy series of compliments from Katie Couric. She is quite aware of the quakings that her plummy tones can produce in an anglophile. I suppose this would have been more interesting had she been interviewed by someone less awestruck.

funny I can't name one American actor/actress who is so articulate. Why is that?
and regarding the polite Katie Couric. Umm honey you asked an intelligent actress several times in this interview is she 'had fun' working. I think you need to learn a bit about the acting world and film world in general. It is a job. It takes incredible hard work and skill. Rarely is it fun in the manner you referenced it.
Sadly...I don't see KC as an intelligent interview. But rather quite generic.

Tilda is completely bored with Katie. Catie is a tedious bore of mediocrity and Tilda answers as if she were talking to a child or some unsophisticated midwestern cheerleader who's trying to appear intelligent. She has 30 minutes with Tilda and all she can come up with are the same mundane, self-evident questions and unaware pedestrian responses, Entertainment Tonight could have pulled off in 2 min. Never has Catie appeared so dull, an insult to her profession.
