I love it when owners have such a passion and dedication to their cars. To spend 25 years of honing and perfecting one car really shows the owners love for that car.
I remember looking at old Wangan photos from this time period and I would occasionally see a white Pantera GT5(S?) that would race with some of the Mid Night cars. Panteras are such cool looking cars from this era, and I just love the curved up exhaust, V8, and how you can see the massive back tires. Edit: Now I need to make this car on GT7.
You guys really outdid yourselfs with the location and the car. The orange nightlights of the streets/parking bay match so nicely with the burgundy color of the Pantera. The yellow light reflections in the paint make it look like gold which in turn matches the actual golden stripes on the car. Just stunning cinematic shots. I also quite like the slight purple hue in the headlights at 4:00!
My favourite car growing up as a kid in Sydney, Australia. Never ever forgot these cars and 40 years later here in the UK still growing strong and now so happy to see you Dino in Japan showcasing a special De Tomaso Pantera! 🔥💪😎
De Tomaso, saw them as a kid, today they are hard to find and see. Yes, the U.S. V8 and Italian design, just perfect in so many ways. Thanks Dino for taking us along! 👍💪✌
You gotta get the owner to take it out somewhere with trees during the day. We NEEED to see this in all its glory. I do appreciate the night riding emotion in this vid tho. When he pulled out of the parking lot and we got to hear the deep note of the engine … perfect for a night cruise
You are correct that I would never expect it... but god damn does the Pantera always look amazing and both the car and the owner are extremely lucky to have each other.
I lived in Fujiyoshida 4 years in the early 1990’s and an acquaintance of mine had a Pantera but his one of the loudest cars I’ve ever ridden in. It was straight piped for sure because to me it sounded like it was straight out of the headers!
What an exceptional piece of 70s muscle. The Pantera is absolutely gorgeous! I’m assuming that was a 427? With what it looks like a more modernized fuel injection? I love everything about this car. From the dash, to the intricate custom piping flowing to the Borla collectors, and not to mention the Cobra Jet noises. The back drop in Shinbashi A+. Thank you again for such a wonderful video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Been awhile since I’ve watched a video on the Pantera, even more iconic is Wangan since it reminds me of this arcade game I used to play called Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune (WMMT) !
Always wondered about the midnight pantera, if there was more around. Kind of obvious when you think about the Japanese aesthetic, that they would lean towards such a neat and eccentric car style. This is a real beaut.
Love it. Always been a huge fan of the Pantera. Another one of those cars where I wish I bought one when I could have afforded it! Just like all those 930s that used to be great cheap drivers cars....
Im a huge De Tomaso fan, some of the nicest wedges ever, Canada in the 90s-every neighbourhood had at least a dude fixing one up in the garage,.....think this might be one of the cleanest versions ive seen thus far in life....and Japan!? Well done!!!!...please tell me that guy ship one in and dropped a coyote 5.0 in there or something😬...eeeeeepp!! Tdot holla!!!!!!
Dino amazing vid and like you said an unusual car for Japan but a sick one I've always thought the De Tomasa Pantera is such a great looking car especially for the time period and was definitely ahead of its time in styling and performance would be amazing to be on the highway in 2024 and have that thing fly by you great work 👍
I am glad I've been a subscriber since before 30k, if my memory serves me right. 500k by end of 2025? That's a good possibility, you are on the best way getting there.
Oooooh man, a DeTomaso Pantera! Quite possibly my most favorite 70's/80's supercar, and there is some absolutely stiff competition during those years. Do you have a link to his build process by chance?
If owned this car persay my favourite car being a lancia delta evo2 I'd drive it with passion as much as it would allow me but a pantera is a beaut. Nice to some it being used with love
I totally expect a wangan pantera. The devil story was based off of one. In fact several were running wangan and yatabe speed trials when mid night was building their reputation
What a look, what a sound, what epic night shots, just wish your camera was better at night time shots it is a bit grainy, maybe you can get a night time camera beast by a sponsor deal with a local Japanese company? Anyways this was epic thank you!

I'm 42 years old, in the USA, & it's so interesting to see the car enthusiasts in Japan of a similar age or older take care of one car for decades.
To me the pantera is almost a mix of a gt40 and a stratos. Nice car
Very true
That in-car view with just the engine sound and your voice over is great.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
4:20 This sound is one of the best V8 sounds I have ever heard.
Stunning, perfect colour we don't see Burgundy on cars enough.
Beautiful Pantera!!! Thank you for the video bro!!!

Love the colour!
Such an Awesome video Dino! Thanks so much ❤

In GT7 you can swap Coyote V8 in Pantera and also wide body it. It beats most super cars with that set up lol ❤
A very modern Pantera, I can't say I ever expected to see such a cool creation.

Best automotivw cinematographer on TH-cam. Music smacks too.

That car is practically a family member, great video Dino.
Grazie Dino per condividere sempre delle perle !

Oh man such a bery beautiful car😎.
Stunnishing
That in car view is crazy

Simply amazing build quality, great vehicle to highlight.

These cars were part of the golden era of nighttime street racing in Japan.
Always loved Pantera💪

I would love for you to do another feature on this car because it is so dark that looking at all the details in the dark do not do this car justice.
What a sound
I've driven Shuto in assetto so many kms and hours, i knew you were at Tatsumi immediately.
dino about once again smashin it latey bro Yemann she’s quality 🔥💯💪🏻
Great content man
🙏🏻

awesome 🏁
Such an odd looking rear end, general shape, and yet in a weird way, it still looks very good.
6:30 Thats Alfa 156 GTA and you should check it. Its really fantastic and rare car
Gives me the Stockholm Getaway vibes lol
If owned this car persay my favourite car being a lancia delta evo2 I'd drive it with passion as much as it would allow me but a pantera is a beaut. Nice to some it being used with love
I'd love for you to do a feature on Sohei Kakuta's SA22C RX-7! Can't wait to go to Japan next year and hopefully run into you at Nismo Fest.
Lovely car , excellent driving footage! Would it be possible to upload the full run of the loop ?
I totally expect a wangan pantera. The devil story was based off of one. In fact several were running wangan and yatabe speed trials when mid night was building their reputation

That engine is such a vulgar display of power
Love it
Not enough Pantera coverage out there
What a colour
For god sakes, hit that sub button folks, who brings this kind of quality content from Japan? NO 1 😅😅
If the chance comes up, I'd love to see some Nissan Cimas(y31-33), crowns, centuries, pretty much any true VIP builds
Wow, yeah.
Can you do a feature on the Hi-Fence cars that were also showcased at the Hotrod custom show back then? I think it was 9-10 years ago.
wow!🤩
V8 symphony orchestra
Jon Kasse V8 Ford in Japan say whattt?!
Interesting car. However, being a VW air cooled enthusiast, I think I can hear loose valve lifters in this engine. Hope I'm wrong though 😅
Trouble is TH-cam recommend vids , didn't realise that I hadn't subscribed, must have told a dozen people recently 😅
Top
A dark black blob that you can't see
Beautiful car except for those horrible "clunks" when going over those highway expansion joints.
