More like, that one friend who's able to do everything on a car, and the second one who's doing all the talking and saying "whew, we did a great job" haha
Enjoyed watching this build. No groups of 60-100 people watching and taking videos/pictures.. Just purely Nakai san doing all the work at RWB HQ. Love it.
As someone who prefers narrow-body cars, I don’t get upset about RWB builds, and I doubt true purists do either. The argument only holds if you're more into preserving 'purity' than enjoying the car’s use. Honestly, thinking repro fenders won’t exist or that a good body shop can’t reverse it is unrealistic. The only people who’ll never understand are those who see cars purely as investments. But let’s be real: cars are just metal we assign value to. I love the Porsche vault with its matching-numbers, low-mileage gems, but cars aren’t meant to sit hidden, undriven, or give you anxiety about damage. They’re meant to be driven, enjoyed, and made your own.
That extremely well written statement doesn't just apply to RWB's or Porsche's, but _all_ vehicles.... nothing is more painful to see than a beautiful vehicle left to collect dust and slowly dry up, deteriorate, and atrophy from the lack of regular exercise.... that's what they were built for, let people see it _in motion_ .
This felt refreshing honestly, not like the spectacle almost circus level we westerners tend to make Nakai San builds seem. This though chefs kiss 👍🏽 just a couple of homies waiting on the finish product!
Hands down the best RWB build I've seen on TH-cam. No posers, wannabe's, or groupies hanging around. A nice guy and his kids, having fun together with their friends. So cool. Not to mention a seriously cool car... Good on ya, Mr Carbonara!
Dino, this made my day!!! The joy you are experiencing is the joy we all hope to one day achieve with our car builds! Congratulations, your RWB turned out incredible!
Literally just watched a video talking about Nakai-san and RWB's origins on Hunter's Moon channel, and then this drops. Perfect timing and congrats on the new mods Dino! P.S: Nice to see Nakai-san let your son help out with the process. That's pretty wholesome to see. 😄
I had the pleasure of visiting HQ a number of years back with my uncle. I don't have a Porsche but my uncle does (he's a purist) but I've been a huge fan of RWB for decades and thought it'd be great to visit. Long story short, Nakai was exceptionally kind and we spent a few hours just talking and him showing us different projects and tidbits from around the world. He didn't have to sit down and talk to us the entire time but he did. I told him that it was just an honor to visit and talk to him and he never made it feel like we were じゃまing. Luckily he wasn't actively building anything the day we visited so I'm sure that helped. Congrats on your build Dino! I hope you'll be able to attend an Idler event in the near future and vlog it for us!
I found myself anxiously checking the video progress bar after I had inhaled 40 minutes, thinking "don't let him do a split into two videos now, I want to see it finish" and was very relieved when 20 minutes left were displayed. Very likeable video, great editing. certainly a chunk to digest when the saw blade goes through the rear fender, but well worth it. ✌️Nakai-san is still down to earth - after all these years. Very sympathetic. Congratulations on your new classic RWB finally!
He is definitely a humble master at what he does!! 32:40 I knew he’d have the garage door all the way down while working on the rear L/P…😂 but he knows a guy 😉
This was really special. A couple of years ago, I was visiting Japan and I decided to look up his shop and stop by to see if I could get a T-shirt and a sticker. I found my way there, knocked on the door and he let me in and I sat there with him while he worked on a car, just me, him and the beagle. We chatted for a couple of hours, I bought some merch and I walked off into the Tokyo night. I don’t remember walking to the train-felt like I was floating. Really special. I feel like I’m a bit of a purist but his work takes me right back to my childhood where I would draw cars and always had the freedom to modify them. His cars are gorgeous because each one is an expression of this one person’s soul shared with the car owner. Thanks!
Wow, I feel like I was a part of history just watching this. Thanks for taking us along for the ride, thanks to Nakai-san and his helpers for allowing us to see and document the art. I have a whole new respect for his work. Simply Stunning.
47:48 I got really emotional. This content is truly a dream for me. MEGA awesome edit, amazing music, and my most beloved JDM people (you Dino, Akira Nakai San, Nojima-san). There is no better JDM content. It’s truly a Christmas gift for me. Thanks, guys. I love you. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Keyboard warriors will always have an opinion and this man's work will always speak for itself. He shows us what owning a vehicle truly means, making it your own and he has done this for many using Porsches as a medium and you can see he applies the utmost respect to the carmaker and the customer alike which is why Porsche has never sent him orders to stop what he does because he pays homage to the brand and it's racing heritage. RWB now and forever!
What’s wild to me about this is…he is so sure of his work and where to align the body panels that it only takes him once. Not too many mistakes or no mistakes at all. A master. He’s just amazing.
Hello Dino, Just wanted to show a bit of appreciation for your build. RWB Europe has its workshop in the village where I grew up. In fact, I drive past their workshop every Friday when I take my two-year-old to visit my parents. My local specialist that maintains my 986 Boxster also does several RWB cars. As a result, I have been exposed to quite a few Nakai inspired cars over the years. In recent years I had fallen out of love with RWB a little bit. Many builds nowadays are just wide with big wings and an outrageous paint job. Shiny Disco cars for fame and attention and the videos to match. Your build is so refreshing. It’s almost like if Porsche did a 964 3.0 RSR from factory, but turned up to 11. Low wing is great compared to the GT2 style items. The Speed Yellow and black touches give a good period correct feel, plus some nice RUF Yellowbird vibes. This is much more a love letter to Porsche as a brand and Nakai’s work. The raw / simple video is also very fitting. This reminds me why I (did) have a soft spot for RWB. Hope the car remains naturally aspirated. Different exhaust with some 964 RS engine bits (flywheel, intake etc) to make it sound and rev nicer, but keep it somewhat reliable at the same time. RS steering wheel and some leather buckets. For wheels I’m rooting for some concave Strosek style wheels with a painted center and a polished lip for a nice retro Fuchs / Teledial throwback mash-up (bit biased as I have standard 17 inch Stroseks on mine). Looking forward to future updates. Donation is for burning some fuel with the 964, making memories with your kids in the back. Regards, Erik
Erik, I appreciate you taking the time to give a very well laid out series of reasons why you liked and then didn’t like RWB. I makes sense to me. I just decided to keep things as simple as possible and most importantly of all balanced. I’m so happy to see this build has resonated so much with people out there and hopefully it helps you appreciate what Nakai has always done. At the end of the day he builds and fits overfenders; color choice, wheels, spoilers, interiors and engines are all the choice of the owners. Nakai’s own style is expessed in cars like Stella Artois and Rotana. And many thanks for the donation, that will be burned up in premium high octane fuel 💛🙏🏻
I'm so happy to see this and in one bumper video no less! I hope this blows up for you because you really documented it in an honest, interesting and personal way. You definitely took the drama out of it and just made it feel like something special and significant for you. Obviously Alec's superb b-roll always helps. Have been massively enjoying your content so it's great to see you get a big win like this, and get to live vicariously a little bit via this video. I love that you didn't go crazy wide; the presence is fantastic without feeling comical and your choice of spoiler is great. I actually think dark wheels with all the black hardware looks fantasic.
Good work man- I’ve seen so many over-produced videos on his work… when the car, the man, and his garage and watching the process unfold is enough. Simple and elegant, clean shots… beautiful video.
I dont think I would be able to watch my own car get cut up like that, but the end result is absolutely incredible!! This and the r34 makes for one killer garage
WOW I can't believe what I've just watched, the attention to detail, the utmost professionalism, and all done by one man only, you Dino must be frothing with the outcome ❤
Welcome to the family Dino!! I love seeing all the positive comments from the private build. THIS is how builds truly are. The public build videos are great, but don’t capture the true essence of his work like this one. Great work. Welcome to the family!! 💛
congrats dino! car turned out super awesome! 49:56 that money shot! the "borrowed" wheels do look good too! as with engine, stay NA but with bigger displacement (3.8), with ITB and manual swap. golden! definitely living the dream dino!
Congratulations Dino ! It must be a dream come true ! I couldn't stop smiling watching the video, your channel really has become a monument of japanese automotive content over months. I can't wait to see what's next, wish you the best man !
What a great build. Didnt feel like i was watching a grand spectacle. Just a dope car being built! Remember being a kid in the earlier 2000s seeing these in magazines
Amazing! I was a bit skeptic that you went for a RWB build, but this is stunning. The new wing is amaing, long and flat. Props on the build! Can't wait to see the final ver. ort the 964
I am loss.. of words. Of all the RWB builds, this one humanizes the way Nakai-san builds cars. It’s like they want back to where it started. No loud music, no cinematic reel, no noise, just the master, the owner, and the car. In your previous video there was comment posted that the guy who deserves an RWB finally gets an RWB. I am going to also say it, you deserve this car. You deserve this build. Wow. Please cherish this car. Don’t let go of this car.
Best RWB video ever ! I don’t like RWB but this build is different. Is more real and with family. I can feel the emotion when you mentioned “no going back now “ and how you turned your hard earned cash into something you like. Keep up the good work. National TV show level.
Nakai San truly creates masterpieces from simple sculptures and I love how they finish the whole car off with a paint correction polish. What people often don't realise is that even with the oversized body pieces bolted on, you can still see that it's a 964. Nakai San has perfected this art of a seamless transition from the classic 964 silhouette with the RWB addition.
My favorite part is watching you get your kids involved and seeing how happy you are after waiting such a long time to make that dream come true. super happy for you man :D
Sceptic at first, as I truly adore the original narrowbody shape. However, the final result is simply stunning. For me the rear spoiler is the piece-de-resistance. Why we don't see them on more RWB builds is beyond me. Enjoy your work of art!
Love your storytelling and overall production. . Random note, at 53:02ish the windows appeared metallic yellow tinted. Congrats on the build, she looks so good.
39:11 that was cool. I must admit I share your doubt when he first cut the fenders "should" came to mind but the enjoyment, handshake and end product made it all disappear. Enjoyed the build and congratulations to you all.
Finally a full build video, 🙌 🙏 now everyone can actually see the work being done and how good that man is with kids. It's not chewing gum and tape that gets these together, it's definitely hard work and friendship that make this a good build and a good video.
Such a relaxing cinematic expression of his art. I truly enjoyed this and I am glad this was shared by you. Congrats and looking forward to the completion of this build!
Congratulations on a fantastic looking car. I much prefer the second set of wheels. Really nice to share such a great moment with your son 👍 I will be waiting to get a 1:18 scale model of this car.
You made me understand and appreciate how Nakai builds his cars, this video is one of the best video about RWB and how it’s done. A lot of hate on Nakai is mostly bad interpretation on his work and how it is being documented.
Out of all the RWB videos I have seen out there, yours was the only one that humanized Nakai-san with footages of him taking your car apart and teaching your sons. Needless to say, most videos out there portrays him as an insensitive king having the commoners do the dirty work as he sits down on his thrown smokkng and eating tropical fruits. 👍👍
Guys, this video is absolutely incredible. All those drone shots, the scenes in Nakai-san's garage, and that moment with the kid at the end - it really brings so much life to the video. I truly enjoyed watching it, you guys are awesome!
Dino absolutely amazing vid and what an opportunity to document and have your sick Porsche turned into a RWB masterpiece by a true artist and legend in the automotive industry looks amazing now you gotta make the engine match the body with either a built motor or fat turbo great work as always 👍
Not too wide and nothing crazy with the wing. I really prefer the clean looks to it. The wheels also look great on this simple RWB build. Congrats on your lovely RWB build.
Such an honest and ‘raw’ view of one of a Master of his craft at work. The best build I’ve seen yet. And while the car looks glorious at the end and is a special moment, the real moment was when Nakai San was guiding Goya through helping him remove the tape. That moment will be in your son’s head and heart for the rest of his life. And when the boys (and you) finished removing the windscreen strip….. and they asked ‘what does it say?’ 🙏🏻 You must be so proud of the car and the process you’ve been directly part of 👊🏻
My favorite video of yours! What a special experience to be able to share with your kids. Congrats on the beautiful build and I can't wait to see it progress.
First off I'm so happy for you!! The car looks amazing and honestly is my preferred extent of a kit I myself like. The wideness doesn't look extreme and is the perfect look in my opinion.
Awesome to see a legend at work. I don't know why, but I loved that he did it all in his Scooby-Doo pajama bottoms. Awesome that your sons helped out and that you have a unique car that is one of a kind. Very happy for you Dino!
truly an amazing dude working on your car, saw him a few times in canada and he’s truly a awesome gentleman. remember he built a vert 993 for a buddy of mine. was pretty insane seeing him work on it. can’t wait to see what wheels you decide to get on this car. cheers dino!!
Congratulations Dino, I'm so happy for you and grateful for those 57 minutes well spent to kick off my weekend. From one enthusiast dream-builder to another; enjoy the ride. Much love from California.
This is probably the coolest series I've ever seen. It's very nice and motivating to see that you're doing something you've dreamed of :D This is the coolest. And haters will hate without understanding anything. Congratulations Mr. Dino
You just got to love that Nakai is building your RWB in his Skooby Doo pyjamas haha! Your 964 turned out great and the yellow color really pops and adds to the widebody!
Nothing better than completing a dream and the history with you and RWB is very cool. So happy he could squeeze you in! Purists will always be there, but builders and dreamers only come once an while. Enjoy it, well-deserved, and beautiful car!
I've seen a lot of RWB videos and this one is the best by far, no annoying music or effects and Nakai looks to be having fun building the car, in other videos he looks almost annoyed by the stuff happening around him. It was neat that he made the kids feel included too.
I’ve seen RWB builds on TH-cam with cinematic reel but your vlog build with nakai is like two friends just working on a car
I appreciate that!
More like, that one friend who's able to do everything on a car, and the second one who's doing all the talking and saying "whew, we did a great job" haha
sure
Yeah i agree. Some years ago These cinematic rwb build were very cool, but now i am kinda fed up by them
True ✊️
Enjoyed watching this build. No groups of 60-100 people watching and taking videos/pictures.. Just purely Nakai san doing all the work at RWB HQ. Love it.
Don't think I've seen Nakai san interacting with kids before, seems like a wholesome soul
He’s awesome!
He amazing, which is why it get under my skin when people put him down for no reason.
does he have kids?
As someone who prefers narrow-body cars, I don’t get upset about RWB builds, and I doubt true purists do either. 1st time watching non cinematic Nakai's built
💛
the best one.
Dino, this made my day!!! The joy you are experiencing is the joy we all hope to one day achieve with our car builds! Congratulations, your RWB turned out incredible!

Congrats Dude! Having your little one actively helping with the build is wholesome! Came out amazing!
Thank you!
Only a true artist can get away with working in Scooby-Do Christmas pyjamas.
a true artisan!
I’m truly happy for you! Welcome to the Rough Club! See you real soon brother!

He is definitely a humble master at what he does!!
32:40 I knew he’d have the garage door all the way down while working on the rear L/P…😂 but he knows a guy 😉
Idk why people hate so much. Your car looks 10x more special and amazing with the RWB kit.
It’s ok everyone is entitled to their opinions 👍🏻
Thanks!
Your car looks beautiful. I like how your kids were involved. Enjoy your drive!!!

after over 200+ cars you get muscle memory how to do it.
Hello Dino,
Just wanted to show a bit of appreciation for your build.
Regards,
Erik
Thanks so much that means a lot! Happy so many out there love the video 🙏
Good work man- I’ve seen so many over-produced videos on his work… when the car, the man, and his garage and watching the process unfold is enough. Simple and elegant, clean shots… beautiful video.
Simple is always best. Glad you thought to!

To have Nakai San bless your chariot is a true honor. Congratulations!
congrats dino! car turned out super awesome!
Thank you so much! 🙏
What a great build. Didnt feel like i was watching a grand spectacle. Just a dope car being built! Remember being a kid in the earlier 2000s seeing these in magazines

“went back” sorry for the typo.
Wow truly beautiful work and what a wonderful man. Congratulations
Thank you for all the raw footage, no music or overproduction!
Congrats looks amazing man!😍
Thank you! 🙏
You made the best video about a RWB build, specially Nakai-san interacting with children. The 964 looks amazing. Enjoy it 964 with health!
you should have got yellow glasses
I do but they are sun glasses lol
yes but it would have added to the cinematic effect
This was so amazing and touching, I was in tears at the end, Dino & Alec. Thank you so much for all your hard work, passion and creativity.
💛 And thank you for all the support 🙏💛🫶🏻

Congratulations, Dino. Truly a build for the history books and having the kids around makes it that much more special. Living the dream!
Appreciate that!
Damn! Sick! 🔥🔥
Nakai San truly creates masterpieces from simple sculptures and I love how they finish the whole car off with a paint correction polish. LMFAO 😂
The areas he cut on the body wont they rust? Or is something sprayed over it.
My favorite part is watching you get your kids involved and seeing how happy you are after waiting such a long time to make that dream come true. super happy for you man :D
It was a very special weekend that’s for sure. 💛
wow you even got scooby doo christmas pyjama pants
Absolutely stunning. Can’t wait to see it with your choice of wheels
Auto garage Tbk in my opinion has the best looking kit
He dropped the ball. Could've made something different, yet he wanted to have the middest treatment for his 911.
@Franface31 his car he can do whatever his heart desires don't give sht to him, personally I don't hate his rwb dino has taste
Prefer the TBK setup 964 that was featured months ago by Dino's channel: th-cam.com/video/X4rbE-QfiPI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VKhgXpiBhpdIwCPz
Sceptic at first, as I truly adore the original narrowbody shape. However, the final result is simply stunning. For me the rear spoiler is the piece-de-resistance. Why we don't see them on more RWB builds is beyond me. Enjoy your work of art!
No rust protection on the cutting lines???
Love your storytelling and overall production. . Random note, at 53:02ish the windows appeared metallic yellow tinted. Congrats on the build, she looks so good.
I'm very happy for you due, still feel sorry for the death of ANOTHER narrow body.RIP .
Nah dw narrow bodies are plentiful
39:11 that was cool. I must admit I share your doubt when he first cut the fenders "should" came to mind but the enjoyment, handshake and end product made it all disappear. Enjoyed the build and congratulations to you all.
Haters are jealous af
Finally a full build video, 🙌 🙏 now everyone can actually see the work being done and how good that man is with kids. It's not chewing gum and tape that gets these together, it's definitely hard work and friendship that make this a good build and a good video.
Really cool to see Nakai-San working in his own workshop environment for a change. You must be so happy with the build.
It was a dream come true! 🙏
The fenders killed me and it’s not my car 😢
Awesome to see this Dino! See you in January!
Thanks Angie! See you next month 👍🏻
Such a relaxing cinematic expression of his art. I truly enjoyed this and I am glad this was shared by you. Congrats and looking forward to the completion of this build!
41:30 Melted my heart … they will remember this forever !
💛💛💛
Lovely to see an unfiltered RWB build video like this.
Happy for you, enjoy it! 💛
That is like the most wholesome and personal build i saw from nakai-san! She's a beaut! Congrats!
Congrats Dino!!! That's all we live for, family, friends and cars.
Thanks smiled the entire time
Thank you so much 🙏
Congratulations on a fantastic looking car. I much prefer the second set of wheels.
Really nice to share such a great moment with your son 👍
I will be waiting to get a 1:18 scale model of this car.
Thank you so much 🙏💛
Beautful build, Dino. And captured so well also. Love watching Nika-San just do his thing haha. What a moment with your young blokes, too.
Yep that couldn’t be further from the truth. He’s literally the nicest guy in the Japanese automotive world.
Guys, this video is absolutely incredible. All those drone shots, the scenes in Nakai-san's garage, and that moment with the kid at the end - it really brings so much life to the video. I truly enjoyed watching it, you guys are awesome!
Thanks, appreciate the kind words! 🙏🏻
Dino absolutely amazing vid and what an opportunity to document and have your sick Porsche turned into a RWB masterpiece by a true artist and legend in the automotive industry looks amazing now you gotta make the engine match the body with either a built motor or fat turbo great work as always 👍
Well deserved build! And this is such an intimate setting. Proud of you!
Not too wide and nothing crazy with the wing. I really prefer the clean looks to it. The wheels also look great on this simple RWB build. Congrats on your lovely RWB build.
Thanks!
That yellow . RUF and RWB in one . Best of both worlds. 🎉.
Congrats. It transformed your car. It took a somewhat vanilla yellow car to the next level. You have to be very pleased.
Sure am!
And when the boys (and you) finished removing the windscreen strip….. and they asked ‘what does it say?’ 🙏🏻
You must be so proud of the car and the process you’ve been directly part of 👊🏻
Special moments indeed. I’m forever grateful ☺️
My favorite video of yours! What a special experience to be able to share with your kids. Congrats on the beautiful build and I can't wait to see it progress.
Thank you 💛💛💛
Congratulations! Wonderful video. Happy to see another beautiful creation by Nakai.
First off I'm so happy for you!! The car looks amazing and honestly is my preferred extent of a kit I myself like. The wideness doesn't look extreme and is the perfect look in my opinion.
Rough World indeed, my man in there workin in flip flops and Christmas pants. Legendary ❤️
Shirts look great d00d
Thank you!! 🙏🏻
Awesome to see a legend at work. I don't know why, but I loved that he did it all in his Scooby-Doo pajama bottoms. Awesome that your sons helped out and that you have a unique car that is one of a kind. Very happy for you Dino!
Appreciate it! 🙏🏻
This is such a great way to watch these builds, better than the other build videos I've watched. Cool presentation in his home shop. Congrats!
💛
Yup, especially thoughs that have been edited to manipulate how he builds them.
I enjoyed watching the process. It came out sooo clean!! Thanks for sharing with us.
I love that he got it done for you ahead of schedule and at the HQ, what a special build! Looking forward the wheel reveal!
Yeah so grateful!!
You were right, the wing makes all the difference in terms of the looks. Amazing
truly an amazing dude working on your car, saw him a few times in canada and he’s truly a awesome gentleman. remember he built a vert 993 for a buddy of mine. was pretty insane seeing him work on it. can’t wait to see what wheels you decide to get on this car. cheers dino!!
Congratulations Dino, I'm so happy for you and grateful for those 57 minutes well spent to kick off my weekend. From one enthusiast dream-builder to another; enjoy the ride. Much love from California.
Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
Congrats man. Looking fwd to the WORK wheels. See u next month!
Thank you Jon!! And see you soon! 🤙🏻
This is probably the coolest series I've ever seen. It's very nice and motivating to see that you're doing something you've dreamed of :D
This is the coolest. And haters will hate without understanding anything.
Congratulations Mr. Dino
Thank you 🙏
You just got to love that Nakai is building your RWB in his Skooby Doo pyjamas haha!
🫶🏻
It's an honour to be on this journey with you Dino !and what a RWB !!!
🙏🏻
I've seen a lot of RWB videos and this one is the best by far, no annoying music or effects and Nakai looks to be having fun building the car, in other videos he looks almost annoyed by the stuff happening around him. It was neat that he made the kids feel included too.
I’ve already commented in the vid before the yellow and the rwb mod just looks incredible. Congrats on the wonderful masterpiece. Big Love ❤❤
Thanks a ton!
Congrats!!! Black wheels for sure
My oh my! That is awesome 🤩🤩 So good seeing the boys work on your own car with the master . Life long memories . Enjoy 🙏🙏
So grateful!
What a Day! What a Lovely Day! I want a ride in a few weeks Dino!
