It's from the remnants of a lake that used to be here that dried up. The salt and other minerals became hard packed over time once the water evaporated. There's a part of the actual Great Salt Lake that's pink though because they built a railroad bridge that blocks the flow of water from one side to the other.
Welcome to Oblivion. After the nukes have died down, all that's left is the freeway. Worse than Illinois and Kansas in the winter; that's not snow on the sides and the median is never that wide. The haze, compounded by the wildfire smoke out west, give it an eerie, surreal view. There's always one moron who has to do 110, and not a trooper in sight. Then there are mountains and 'civilization' again, and a needed pit stop. It's only been 90 minutes; feels like twice that.
Despite there being nothing to see (literally), this is the one I was waiting for
It's quite the drive
Incroyable paysage ! Il ne faut pas tomber en panne d'essence sur ce trajet 🤔🤪. Thanks Mike !
The pics you'd posted to IG were really great too! ☺️
One of the only drives I kind of enjoy in Utah, give or take an extra hour since Springville is about an hour south of Salt Lake.
i wonder where exit 94 takes you can you drive on that highway in your next video
You get no service for miles out there I heard until you get to Nevada in which your in Nevada right now
Noice highway
What causes the different salt colors

The person in the Suburu who kept cutting you off and then slowing down should NOT have a Drivers Licence. Very poor, rude driver.
Yeah that's one of the worst driver behaviors I hate on the road.
@@MileageMikeTravels considering the speed limit is 80 mph down that stretch of road that isn't surprising
Of course that bozo had CT tags, southern New England drivers are a different breed
