As always, phenomenal views going west out of Denver, especially from the Genessee interchange. The tunnels are something, considering there's a couple, three thousand more feet of rock above you. Might want to invest in some chains if you're gonna be staying out there much longer.

As a local…yes the highways always get priority and the best snow removal efforts and are for the most part always clear for travel. There are some sections that do get closed during a bad storm but will always be cleared promptly after the storm is over
I’m driving this way in January, honestly I just baked an extra day into my trip, if things get too bad I’ll just wait another night in Denver. Nothing to worry about though, Colorado kicks ass with snow removal.
