2009 to 2013 was the first gen with the redesign coming in 2014 with the exception of some 2014 and 2015 special editions being first gen body's. I own a 2013 with 196k and having the tranny replaced at 192k. My wife.picked up a 2012 with 36k 4 months ago. Do not buy a new Nissan, resale is horrible. If you look you can buy a used one fully loaded SL model for 15k+ less than a new one only 2 yrs old with less than 30k. CVT in them is still garbage and I wont buy one, the only reason I let my wife is because she hardly drives and it had super low miles.
I consider myself a car enthusiast. I’ve always owned cars with RWD bias like an Infiniti G35 and Dodge Charger. However, with a stay at home wife and two children, I got my wife a top of the line pathfinder SL for the family and a Rogue for my commute across state for work. I am pleased with the flatness of the Rogue, the comfort, space, value, and excellent gas mileage. Yes, it does not accelerate like the 300 horsepower cars I’m used to but it’s smooth enough for my day to day commute. I was looking for value when I purchased this vehicle not necessarily fun. I will try to baby the CVT. I have a 2020 model so I am hoping they fixed most issues. The Pathfinder is heavier and feels more luxurious but it’s literally double in price. I am looking forward to getting as much value as I can out of this vehicle. It is larger and cheaper and better looking than a RAV4
@@occckid123 she's one of the few exceptions, my girlfriend has had 2 of them replaced both under 50k miles... Nissan is a mess right now. Buy Toyota, Honda or anything Korean.
i love this SUV. i have a 2019 and it's handling, economy and power is so much for the asking price. i have driven mine thousands of miles without any problems. it is just that good.
brian centi I work in a service department and I’ve seen 2014 models used as cabs and ubers with over 200,000 miles still going strong. Routine maintenance and these cars last a long time. Most customers are extremely happy with them. I’m excited to see the 3rd gen rumored for next year.
I have a 2018 Rogue that is much more comfortable than my spouse's 2017 Rav4. The Rogue really shines on the highway and in a head to head cross country drive, got slightly better mileage than our Rav4, as well. Both vehicles have been 100% reliable.
A TH-cam Channel with no name i have a 207 rogue as well and my CVT seems to be doing fine! Im trading it back in though because i’m sure it won’t last
A TH-cam Channel with no name I clicked this comment to ask the same thing. I know all cars can break no matter what, but the cvt scares me. I like some of Nissan designs but the cvt is just not working for me. I had a 2012 Sentra and that held up fine. Even did a cross country move from California to New Jersey just fine.
This is my 3rd Rogue and I absolutely love it. I dont think I would be happy with any other car. It is good on gas, driving a Rogue is very comfortable. I also love its style. Very classy.
We're on our third Rogue and have loved EACH one. They're GREAT cars! I don't understand "automotive professional's" issue with it. Like you said, they're overly critical and I feel they've lost the connection to the real world. The Rogue may be due for a redesign, but it's STILL a great car that has GREAT features, looks good, is spacious, very comfortable, nice ride, great on gas, great AWD system that's killer on snow (way better than CRV's AWD), it's reliable (we haven't had any issues with any of our 3 Rogues), and on top of it all they've all been priced cheaper than their competitors. Like, DUH! No wonder it's such a hot seller and why they're everywhere, much to the bewilderment of "professionals." Great review, BTW! (Our current Rogue is a 2017 SL AWD w/premium and platinum packages, coming off lease next month and we love it so much we're deciding to keep it!)
While I agree with almost everything the reviewer states, he missed the back seat cupholders. He stated there were none, but mentioned the armrests. The cupholders are IN the armrests! Just fold the armrests down. My husband and I have noticed since we purchased my SLWD, in 2016, that the Rogue is by far more popular than the pricier Murano. We got an excellent deal with everything that is on the Murano, but for less money! The only thing I do not like is the V-4 engine. I previously had a V-6 and loved the get up and go. Everything else is an A+!!!! I think Nissan is making a mistake to discontinue the Rogue. Why would you discontinue your best seller???
A lot of people put the Rogue down, but we bought a 2017 and immediately camped coast to coast in it and back. In 77K miles the only casualties we had were a dead battery and needing a set of tires. Regular transmission fluid changes are they key to longevity of the CVT. Unfortunately, they can't handle a 12 point buck impact at 35 MPH.
There is a Dealer accessory option to add two USB charging ports to the center console for the rear seat passengers. My '19 Rogue SL came equipped with them.
The 2020 Rogue drops the Platinum Reserve Interior Package which offered the tan leather seats with quilted leather inserts, which are more comfortable than the regular leather seats in the SL.
I got exact same model and same color as this one. I've driven 4500 miles so far and has gone on a 2 weeks road trip to canada.. There was one issue with the censor on front glass and had to replace it other than that, it's been very good. Good fuel economy and its safety features are awesome. Recommended.
I own a 2017 Nissan Rogue SV. It isn't a sports car but I think a nice v6 would fit under that hood as easy as the 4 cylinder does I think it is low on power. My mileage over the road interstate driving is about 30.5 not bad. The seats boy all seats should for the human body like these do I have never adjusted mine. The sound package was not real important but the Premium Bose is good to go. If I could only get around the personal property tax in Virginia I would buy the 2020 model.
I just got my 2020 Nissan Rogue sl awd yesterday. It looks really great. It has so many electronic things. Maybe too many. Certainly more than I'll ever use. I gave my 2013 Kia Sorento ER with a six cyl. I loved that car. My older son needed it for his growing family. The only really bad thing about the Rogue is that it's underpowered. Living in NYC doesnt allow me to go too fast so it won't be a problem. I expect to have many good auto years from my Nissan.
Did you buy it from a dealer who offers lifetime Powertrain warranty? Many dealers offer lifetime Powertrain warranty on Nissan Rogue. This means that you won’t never have to worry for your engine or cvt transmission.
The Rogue's suspension is kind of special. If you push it down from the trunk, it feels very soft and the vehicle sinks immediately with a slight push from your fingers. But when you drive it, you kind of feel it's relatively stiff and doesn't generate a lot of body roll when you make a turn. It's kind of a combination between softness and stiffness to handle different road conditions. Also I hate the usage of the word "droning" by the critics. It's just the engine noise when you rev it up, even from a non-CVT transmission. It happens to every non-EV vehicle when you push the accelerator to the floor.
Well, CVT's have a certain whirling sound when pushed and its not good IMO. My BMW X3 with 7 speed ZF is only a 2.0 liter but does not sound/feel like that. Not even remotely so. Also has 80 HP more. Yes I know it costs ALLOT more but my point is OEMS use CVT because the upfront costs are MUCH lower but the maintenance and repair cost of CVT cost significantly more for the owner. Performance wise the CVT is garbage compared to many of the newer multi geared transmissions. ZF being one of the best IMO. Also many of Nissan's Jatco transmissions have had years of reliability issues with extended warranties and lawsuits and class actions to prove it. Much of that has been fixed but even some of recent models were still having failures. This is why Nissan has a bad reputation with many buyers now. Also know you will need to pay more to service it. Fluid changes are expensive and you need to do it every 30K miles. IMO, its just not worth saving money on the upfront costs. You definitely don't want to be owning one outside a power train warranty. Make sure you get the extended warranty.
“line trace control” is a cool feature, i like how light and nimble it makes the power steering while driving. Makes for a great smooth cruise and it can minimize body roll when cornering using the electronic brake distribution system. With it off, it seems the power steering is stiffer and feels more in touch with the road. EBD is pretty sophisticated and instantly responsive. The EBD in combination with the AWD system makes a very effective and dynamic traction and chassis control formula. Been driving a ‘15 rogue for over a year on dirt roads and new england winters and its a great small SUV 👍
Mi esposo me regalo uno y es lo máximo estoy feliz con mi auto 🚘 súper cómodo y práctico para el uso diario. Espacioso y económico en gas. Selos recomiendo 😁
Beware: Airbag light turns *ON, for no apparent reason, after 100km, it cost $150 for diagnostic and then more $$ for repair. Mine was a 2015 rogue, and the airbag recall apparently covered upto 2014 and not 2015. There are many other frustrated Nissan-rogue customers that have this same issue.
Great review! I think reviewers are too harsh when reviewing CVT transmissions. When you get used to it, it can be a lot smoother that a traditional transmission; especially in city driving. I drive a 2018 Rogue and my lease is up in a few months.....so I've been test driving all of the competitors and their transmissions are jerky when hunting for gears. I love the rugged looks of the RAV4, but I was shocked at how bad that transmission was. The Escape just seemed to be searching for the right gear at lower speeds.....same with the Equinox. I drive 90/10 city/highway miles, so I think CVT's work great with the type of driving that I do. Any incline will highlight the shortcomings of the CVT by exuding a loud groan when you make it work a bit.....but I'll take that over the whiplash jerk that the RAV4 exhibits on the same incline or intersection. I know buying a Rogue or any SUV with the CVT can be risky because of the cost to replace them, but I think all of the competitors newer 8 and 9 speed transmissions will have as many problems as the CVT's in time.
Only thing I don’t like is the engine, on ECO mode the engine “lugs” at slower speeds. It sort of groans or growls I guess. It’s like driving a stick shift sounds like your in too high of a gear for the speed.
BEAVIS I never use the Eco seeing on my 2017 Rogue. It has no throttle response at all, like 2 cylinders have disappeared. I didn’t get any better mileage than from the standard setting anyway.
Going from a 2017 Rogue SL black to a 2020 SL white and I am happy as can be. Even with some of the cons, the pros totally outweigh them and I got the best deal saving me lots of money compared to the lease deals Subaru and Toyota were offering for their SUVs.
I have a 2017 Rogue and love it. I did my homework on the CVT, most of those problems were before 2015. Since then the problems have seemed to be minimal. I love the hidden storage feature, thought that was genius. Also agree the interior is not outdated like some people think for some reason. Agree with the complaint on lack of power outlets, especially in the back, and also would point out that he power outlets do not stay on after the key is turned off, at least in mine. So, you can’t leave your phone in the car when you go in a restaurant or whatever and charge it. Biggest problem I have found is that the vehicle has terrible blind spots in the rear view mirrors, the worst I have ever seen in any vehicle I’ve owned. Blind spot assist is a very important option for the Rogue.
Everytime I rent an SUV, I always make sure we get a rogue. That’s how much I like them! And I drove just about all models; S, SV, & SL. Even the redesign one the SV w/leather and sunroof. Great vehicles! That’s why you see so many of ‘em on the road. I’m thinking about getting a use 2020 SV w/sun & sound package. (If I find a orange one I’m in). Best SUV for us.😌👍🏾
I like the Rogue, have rented them a few times. One of my issues with it for long road trips is, it's a little narrower than the CR-V and the Cherokee. For some reason, I am sensitive to that, and it feels like a smaller space to be confined in for a long time. That's the same reason I don't like the Forester, which is even narrower. The only other complaint is it has kind of a cheap feel to the interior, and the engine/performance seems a bit weak.
Im conflicted on if i should get a 2020 rogue or wait for the new design next yr... I absolutely love the 2020 and im scared I wouldn’t like the new design
@@pitbullmom213 I agree. Too boxy and rugged. Current Rogue is just a great car inside and out and what a bang for the buck, the best bang for the buck imo in that class. Acceleration is a bit slow, but that can be adjusted using the sport mode. I had a black model and now getting a white model and I am excited! Love the Rogue in white!
ARMundra im getting a caspian blue SL trim, i love the white, my current pathfinder is pearl white, my titan white, and my sentra 😂 but they don’t have a white one at my dealership in that trim
I bought a 2016 back in February. The dealer called me yesterday to let me know they may be able to get me into a newer one with a lower interest rate due to the pandemic.
Great vid. I am currently in a 2017 Rogue SV lease about to expire. My 2017 model includes Nav, bird's eye cameras and heated seats. With a slightly bigger budget, I thought I would treat myself and went to Infiniti dealer to attempt to lease either a QX50 or QX60. To my shock, neither of these models had base options anywhere near the humble Rogue. To get navigation AND heated seats you had to go up several levels in packages with a huge price increase . I could not believe that Infiniti offers leather seats only in an upgrade package and does NOT automatically include heat option - you have to pay extra for heating leather seats? And yeah, Infiniti offers ventilated leather seats - but again, you gotta pay extra for this. In the end, even with incentives, Leasing either Infiniti model with Nav & Heated Leather seats ended up with a higher deposit requirement and a higher monthly payment compared to the well equipped Rogue. My biggest complaint about 2017 model is unimpressive seats. Yeah, engine is a bit noisy and not as powerful as Infiniti. But for me these minor issues not worth the extra money. Even though 2020 may represent end of a model series, with all them options AND Zero Gravity seats, it is probably gonna end up being my 2nd Rogue. Thanks for the great review!
Thank you! Yes the Rogue offers a lot of options that even some luxury cars don't have. Its a very nice compact suv and there is a reason why so many people buy it.
I liked this review, just a comment. When you are saying things like “it gives you much more ...than it’s rivals “, you should try to give examples of what you mean. In regards to safety features, for example, a CRV will give you lane keep, adaptive cruise, so will the Rav, but they don’t offer 360 camera or rear braking. That’s the stuff you may want to expand upon. Otherwise great review and I like how you give your opinions-such as others overstating the negative attributes of CVTS. Keep up the good work!
My dealer sells a gillion of these. They have their own lot with probably over a hundred of them. Most don't care about the CVT I guess. Your right the CVT is best when driven normally. Once you push it the sound/feel is horrible. But honestly the real reason many people don't like the Jatco made CVT is they have had many years of reliability issues. Rogue being one the most affected models. Although I think for the most part, they have fixed allot of the issues. Just do the maintenance and change the fluid often. Like every 30K miles and make sure you have a Nissan dealer do it (it ain't cheap) . Another glaring fact about CVT's is they offer a cheaper upfront cost to the maker but will cost more to maintain and replace for the owner. I personally won't own another CVT.
The fact that you had to type all that babble to try and defend this gynormous shit box, is just more proof of why I'll never buy one. My girlfriend hates hers, and is going to trade it for a Hyundai. Better quality now than nissan and you get the 10 years warranty to boot. Nissan can lick my ass
At 250$ a pop for transmission fluid changes once a year the cost of ownership isn't worth the cost savings upfront. Add in horrible electric problems and poor gas mileage this car should be discontinued
@@MrDuceOwen people just buy these because they're cheap upfront. Probably has the lowest MSRP for a small unibody SUV type piece of s*** on the market. Plus Nissan will do a lot of discount just to move it.
Hey, I have a 2019 rogue sport SL AWD as of june 28th. It’s November 5 today. 5 months and 4900 miles so far. Here’s what I have to say so far. The rogue sport and the regular rogue are not too far different in the interior department. Same exact interior. Also note I have the Bose sound system. About a month ago, I noticed that while playing music, I would get a rattle in the car. It sounded like a speaker was just vibrating, but it turned out to be the accessory buttons on the top. I had glasses in there, and when I removed it it got quieter, however, it still rattles. I need to push up on it to make it quit rattling which is quite annoying. The sound system itself honestly sounds subpar at full volume. At mid volume, it does well, but when you want to crank out full volume, the rear view mirror shakes to the point where you can’t see through it, the bass is hard to hear, and the highs go missing. It’s more enjoyable to play it moderately or not at all. The drivers assist is very, very useful. I live in nyc where there’s tons of traffic. It’s very easy to use. It’s a little jerky with braking, and at higher speed corners it feels like it’s drunk. It dances from the left to the right side of the lane, but I love it reguardless and can’t see going back to living without it. The traffic assist is very helpful because sometimes the car can see something before you do. The blind spot monitoring beeps at the right times, there’s been maybe 2,3 times where I was about to merge into a lane where I didn’t see someone coming and it alerted me. The brake assist is always on check, the cross traffic alert is cool. If you can, definitely get the 360 cameras too, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it to get into tight parking spaces. THE BRAKES ON THIS CAR ARE PHENOMENAL. Although it does feel underpowered, the greatest feature to me drivability wise is the brakes. The car handles INSANELY well. Now this may be a rogue sport thing, as it’s quite a bit different, but I’ll say it here anyway since the suspension systems are the same. My girlfriend’s sv has 215mm tires. I have 225s, and the same 19 inch rims. The car has a trick awd system that constantly splits the power from the front wheels to the rear depending on the car’s pitch, if it’s accel/decel arating, the body roll. I’ve taken this car to windy roads quite a few times and it definitely feels underpowered in a straight line, it is superb in the corners. It definitely understeers, but whatever corner I throw at this car it just eats up and doesn’t get upset. It handles very, very, very well. So the cvt. Personally, I love the responsiveness of it. Very quick shifts, if i want it to kick me in the back of the head I downshift into 4000 rpm and floor it. It works very well and I only wish it had paddles. It’s a very good transmission in my opinion. The fuel economy. Now I won’t lie, I tend to drive a bit on the faster side. Combined, my fuel economy is 19.9. My best was 36.6 2 months into ownership. I think I could have done 38, but that’s if you try to do a basic hypermile. (Neutral on downhills, use brakes only when you need them, light accelerations). Eco mode is useless because you end up flooring it more. It makes it unresponsive. It’s not a quick car, but it sure is fun. I unbolted the resonator from the cat and it burbled and even cracked and popped sometimes. It was so obnoxious I loved it. If you’re looking for a great car, get it. This serves as something for you to think about from a person who has it for almost a year now. It has no electrochromic rear view mirrors, the side ones aren’t like that either. They blind you. Water from rain stays on there almost rendering the mirrors useless, and the driver assists don’t work in bad weather like pouring rain. Overall, if there’s a dirt road I swear I have more fun than I thought I ever would. This thing is tail happy with traction off, awd lock and some slippery surfaces.
I have the 2019 Rogue Sport SV Awd and wanted to ask if you had the recall on the front cameras and safety sensors. Mine started glitching before hitting 5k. That a few other minor glitches in the key fob and the radio freezing between FM and CarPlay. Oh not sure if you mentioned but in the system you can step up the steering from normal to sport steering. I found that putting the steering into sport mode steps it up a touch. As to mpg, mine varies but so far I’ve been averaging 29.6 on occasion the mileage history bounces up to 40 rivaling what RAV4 gets to. But overall it’s a better upgrade from a Juke S though I will miss that turbo 6.
xanth987 I wasn’t aware of the recall on them. So far my front camera is working well and without issues, and I didn’t come in for those recalls. I personally don’t notice any changes in steering in that sport setting. It doesn’t seem to get heavier to me but I also came from driving an RX350 with much heavier hydraulic steering, so maybe There is a slight difference I believe you. My guess is you have the car in long distance drives like on the highway usually, and that’s some damn good mpg. I definitely have issues connecting to CarPlay. Many, many times. While I drive, It just stops playing audio, sometimes it just fully disconnects. A few times I even had to pull over and reset the infotainment to get it to connect to my phone. It tends to go to fm by itself sometimes for whatever reason which is super annoying.
Salie Vabayer yeah I had mine in the repair for a week after taking it in on an oil change. It seems there was problems with front camera and lane departure laser stuff. I found that due to front emergency brake warning sensor flashing every now and then while driving at night on empty roads. And just today it appears another recall is out on the backup camera programming so you may see it. But yeah most of my driving is usually downhill and freeway driving at nights when freeway traffic is nonexistent. As to CarPlay freezing, I found the easiest way to fix the problem is not plug in the phone before starting the engine. Rather start the engine, let the radio stay on fm or satellite for about 30 sec while you are warming up the engine then plug the phone in before dropping it into drive. So far that has cut down on the freezing of the screen when swapping back and forth especially if you also have a cd in the player and satellite radio
xanth987 yes I have the same thing with waze. I let the car start up for a bit, and first put my destination in my phone. If I plug my phone in and try putting in a destination, gps doesn’t work and it’s basically useless
You forgot to point out that the all-around camera also features a front camera while in drive at slow speeds, which is great for parking, or pulling into a garage. Also, pressing the Camera button toggles the right camera to a down-view so you can see the curb while parking.
I have a Serra Nissan 2017 Rogue. bought it in 2018 brand new for a year and my first week of driving it the brake system gave me problems. Later the roof leaked. Steering wheel makes noises lol windows make noise when letting down or up. Smoke came out of gas entrance. Oil Leak in engine. Smoke comes from exhaustion pipe. Glad to hear about new and improved rogues.paid 27,000. So disappointed.
Everywhere i go people say nissan makes checp, unreliable vehicles...plus their transmissions fail frequently. I keep wondering why the nissan rogue sells so cheap in my country and it only adds to my suspicions.
This video (th-cam.com/video/ovIOCVp2m0w/w-d-xo.html) shows the 2020 seems to allow you to adjust the angle of the driver seat, which is not on 2019 and I hate that. Better check it out yourself.
I have 2020 Nissan Rogue. Does it have a speedometer? I just want to know and show the speed on my screen while driving because there are places that has speed limit.
In comparison with my 2023 Subaru forester Premium, my wife's 2020 Nissan Rogue SLawd feels like in the escape pod. It is horrible! The seats were designed for very short people. If you adjust them higher they move forward to an amazing extreme, removing any legroom. I should add, in the interest of fairness, that I'm 6'1" tall, and I'm built like a spider (all legs). I'll concede the luggage arrangement is excellent, the flat-bottom steering wheel helps what ever legroom the car does have! The sunroof is better than my Subaru's sunroof. The window's are like the slits in a tank, adding to the claustrophobic feel of the car. Also, the car's forward-facing mirror is great for parking. I like the placement of the coolant temperature, which is directly in front of the driver, instead of in the information pod on top of the dash.
I bought a brand new 2019 rogue sv last year. I love it except for the fact it vibrates during acceleration usually between 25-45 mph. I took it to a dealership and they said it's just the torque. They also said all of the rogues do it, so nothing can be done to fix it. I haven't noticed anyone else with the same complaint. I feel that I'm not being told the truth. Any ideas or is it normal?
Hum I did not feel that but my test drive wasn't too long either....maybe go drive another one from the dealership and see if you notice the same problem.
Also take it to another dealer. That can make a world of difference. I have two dealers in Albuquerque. The one on the westside (reliable) is worthless. They can't fix anything correctly. The other one is amazing. Also the Rogue has had many years of CVT issues as well as other models. They have a bad reputation and many avoid the brand like the plague. Just google NISSAN rogue CVT problems and you will know what I mean.
I did take it back and they could also feel the vibration but said it's normal. I have to take it in for a braking recall, so I plan on asking to drive another 2019 model like mine to see if it vibrates. I find it hard to believe that it's normal. I'm leasing and was planning on buying it at the end of the lease but now I doubt if I do!
I work for Nissan and I agree 100% with you the vibration is annoying when you are accelerating. But I’ve drove a lot of the new Rogues and every single one of them does it. Just the design Of the engine I guess.
@@joannfelters8198 Yeah, after I got my 2017 Rogue a few weeks ago, I'm noticing Nissans left and right. The front end is very distinctive, esp. the day time running lights shaped like an arrow. Smart thing to make the front the same across all the models.
Look at all the other SUV's in that class prior to Nissan introducing this model. Nothing stood out until Nissan brought the 2104 Rogue out. It set the styling bar very, very high and Toyota and Honda scrambled to find something to compete. It took Toyota over 6 years to figure out they needed to just change the entire look and try to push the design in a different direction. Honda still hasn't figured it out and continues to keep the same style they've had. In my opinion, Nissan seems to set the auto industry on it's ear when it introduces new models. (Maxima, Altima, and new Sentra) I'm pretty confident that the next gen of Rogue will once again set the standard for this class of SUV. If you just do not like CVT's then nothing Nissan does will make you like them so keep looking.
This is verry nice but a lill under powered id think..that comming from a 2006 murano owner..once ur used to the awesome power or that 3.5 ltr v6 this would feel somewhat sloppy for me power wise..but would i buy one ?..hell yeah i would 👍😉
Anyway, I am not an American or Canadian, but to say that Nissan should merge with Honda so that Nissan would change its name back to Datsun at the same time Nissan/Datsun too would become great again. But, prior to that, Honda would forge a tieup with Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries (where the Kawasaki bike company is part of it), and even India's Mahindra & Mahindra (which makes cars in a cheaper method) as well, as India's cost of labour is inexpensive than the rest of Europe, UK and Ireland, US, Canada, Australia, and NZ. (especially both Honda and Nissan/Datsun deeply struggle in the Indian market as India preferred to overtake China as a workshop for the rest of the globe) Thus, when Honda already forged engineering deals with Kawasaki and Mahindra, therefore Honda, so do Kawasaki (unless when Honda buys Kawasaki Heavy Industries), would take over Nissan. And in the end, Acura and Infiniti would cease to exist. Mitsubishi Motors on the other hand, would merge with utility vehicle expert Isuzu instead... (sorry for the words)
2018 Volvo xc40 has more storage everywere and under the front seats and under trunk, grocery holders, and u can divided storage on the back cargo. Air subwoofer technology with harman kardon sound system.360 backup camera. The new 2020 volvo xc40 is pure electric.
Obviously something was wrong with that specific vehicle. Its not supposed to break in a couple of months. I mean I'm sure it can test go 50k miles before something happens so it was just something crazy in that car.
Do you know that many dealers offer lifetime Powertrain warranty? I bought my 2019 rogue with lifetime Powertrain warrant. I won’t never have to worry about the transmission, engine, differential replacement, or timing chain replacement.
@@bogoss3178 That's awesome. Not too many of these dealers out there though. And you should make sure they are not overpricing their sales and always read their fine prints about labor and parts coverage and also exceptions.
@@occckid123 That's the point. A car that the quality is hit or miss is called unreliable. Especially when those mishaps are heard quite frequently. You can be lucky even with the most unreliable cars, point is not everyone will be lucky!
I went with the RAV4 haha But yes the Nissan Rogue was a really nice car all the Bells and whistles who knows mite drive this car for a while switch lol we will see great vid by the way thank you

I have landed on this video, because I just purchased a Rogue 2020, I upgraded from Kia Sportage 2011. I love it so far 🥰
Same bro but had a Honda
Just got rid of my 2015 CRV for a 2020 Rogue and I am in love. I have so many more features in this car and it cost LESS than the CRV its insane
Congrats and nice to hear. There is a reason why Nissan sells so many Rogues. :)
Good luck when the CVT fails lol
Johnny Michael or good luck when the gas dilutes with the oil like what’s happening with the CRV.

i love this SUV. i have a 2019 and it's handling, economy and power is so much for the asking price. i have driven mine thousands of miles without any problems. it is just that good.
Nice Brian! I also think the Rogue provides incredible value.
brian centi I work in a service department and I’ve seen 2014 models used as cabs and ubers with over 200,000 miles still going strong.
Have 2017 Nissan Rogue, I love it, no complaints.
How’s the CVT doing?
A TH-cam Channel with no name i have a 207 rogue as well and my CVT seems to be doing fine! Im trading it back in though because i’m sure it won’t last
A TH-cam Channel with no name I clicked this comment to ask the same thing. I know all cars can break no matter what, but the cvt scares me. I like some of Nissan designs but the cvt is just not working for me. I had a 2012 Sentra and that held up fine. Even did a cross country move from California to New Jersey just fine.
Universal Energy As long as you don’t drive like a maniac and do regular maintenance, the CVT should last
I just bought mines too sliver bullet outside sl platinum edition.
Good video. I just got a used 2017 Nissan Rogue and I am pleased that it has most of the features of the 2020 model and looks almost identical.
I have Nissan Rogue 2014 and still runs very smooth. Haven't encountered any problem since I bought it. It's been 6 years already, very reliable car.
Yours was probably made in Japan.
Thanks and I agree. Rogue is a great SUV!
Just purchased today Nissan Rogue 2020🥰 I had a 2009 ford escape! I love it !!!
Why would you discontinue your best seller???
joann felters I don’t think it’s being discontinued it’s being redesigned.
at 6:48 he said you get a cupholder in the middle arm rest.
Giovanni Funaro - yes, you are right. I missed it! Thank you
They are not discontinuing them. As Janine P said, it's just a redesign.
@@Dazlidorne I thought I had already acknowledged that point! But thanks

Really bad blindspots, doesn’t hold a candle to other suvs. Everything feels and looks cheap.
@@roccotaco87 what would you recommend?
JAISOUL honestly most other brands are a better deal with more features and better reliability. Honda, hyundai, Toyota just for a few
Yeah there’re pretty good my sister has one
A lot of people put the Rogue down, but we bought a 2017 and immediately camped coast to coast in it and back. In 77K miles the only casualties we had were a dead battery and needing a set of tires. Regular transmission fluid changes are they key to longevity of the CVT. Unfortunately, they can't handle a 12 point buck impact at 35 MPH.
There is a Dealer accessory option to add two USB charging ports to the center console for the rear seat passengers. My '19 Rogue SL came equipped with them.
I need this car very badly my old rouge is in need of so much work 2011 is my car but l been praying for the 2020 Nissan Rouge

Have a 2015 Nissan Rogue and I can attest how amazing it is... whenever I need a new vehicle I wouldn’t mind getting a new Rogue... love them
I've read the CVT transmission for 2018 and later have had no issues.

Nice, thanks for the feedback!
Just got mine today!! Love it!
Buy the Murano, that comes standard with the V6.
Nice! The Rogue is one of the best selling compact SUVs for a reason. I was impressed with it after my review.
Did you buy it from a dealer who offers lifetime Powertrain warranty? Many dealers offer lifetime Powertrain warranty on Nissan Rogue. This means that you won’t never have to worry for your engine or cvt transmission.
How does it do on the highway on the long trips?
I agree. Love the comfortable ride and great seats. So many features included, a big bang for the buck.
Nice, thorough review. Very helpful. Thank you.
At 18:44 you see the inside dual color leather, brown/black interior...but on the website there is nothing like this in the gallery on any model??
The Rogue's suspension is kind of special. If you push it down from the trunk, it feels very soft and the vehicle sinks immediately with a slight push from your fingers. But when you drive it, you kind of feel it's relatively stiff and doesn't generate a lot of body roll when you make a turn. It's kind of a combination between softness and stiffness to handle different road conditions.
Also I hate the usage of the word "droning" by the critics. It's just the engine noise when you rev it up, even from a non-CVT transmission. It happens to every non-EV vehicle when you push the accelerator to the floor.
Thanks for the input!
Agree fully with this comment. I own a brand new 2019 X-Trail ST-L 4WD (Australian nameplate for same car) and agree entirely with your comments...
@@HiPlains1 its every 60k miles not every 30k miles. I have a 2016 Altima with the the cvt with 225k miles and I change the cvt fluid every 60k miles

My Sentra had the same issue. Not to mention the transmissions are trash.
Everything you said about the cvt and critics, I agree with you 100%. Its a really good crossover
Nissan Rogue 2020 design is better than 2021
Only thing I don’t like is the engine, on ECO mode the engine “lugs” at slower speeds.
Chandler White Interstate driving might give us a little better gas mileage but it’s not a big difference,
i am a gm car guy...i am buying a 2018 rogue they are well made an i just love them ,,,yes the cvt is its weak spot but change the oil an it will last
I like my 17. No real issues so far at 37k miles. They have a real nice style I think 🤔 NMAC gives you a really good APR as well.
does the 2020 rogue have a digital speedometer on the dashboard?
No, sorry
Unfortunately no. However, the Newly Designed 2021 Rogue Will have the Digital Speedometer.
Only complaint Is why the infotainment display look like it’s from 10 years ago.
I have a 2019 SV Rouge and love it, it looks identical to the 2020 version.
Your details are impeccable, good Job. I have a 2018 Modell..European Spec and i would say....I JUST LUVVVVVV it
Everytime I rent an SUV, I always make sure we get a rogue.

Have they got rid of the foot parking brake. I’m too tall and it’s placed in an uncomfortable position for feet.
Yes, he pointed out the brake had a button in the video.

I bought a 2016 back in February. The dealer called me yesterday to let me know they may be able to get me into a newer one with a lower interest rate due to the pandemic.
Have you done a review of the Rogue Sport SL?
Not yet but just got done uploading a review of the Kicks!
Thanks for the feedback and the support :).

What does the base trim go for?
CVT is main culprit for most transmission breakdowns on most of these vehicles
@@HiPlains1 I think the Mitsubishi outlander sport might be cheaper but it's basically the same car just even worse because Nissan owns them
Hey, I have a 2019 rogue sport SL AWD as of june 28th.
Wow thanks for that real world feedback! :)
Good info....will be getting a 2020 Rogue SV so this helps a lot
You forgot to point out that the all-around camera also features a front camera while in drive at slow speeds, which is great for parking, or pulling into a garage. Also, pressing the Camera button toggles the right camera to a down-view so you can see the curb while parking.
Stronger than ever? It’s the same powertrain since 2009.
Is there a huge difference between the 2019 and 2020?
No pretty much the same.
That definitely makes my decision on the vehicle quite simple. Thanks for the informative video and response. Keep up the amazing work
This video (th-cam.com/video/ovIOCVp2m0w/w-d-xo.html) shows the 2020 seems to allow you to adjust the angle of the driver seat, which is not on 2019 and I hate that. Better check it out yourself.
No not much they are both terrible. Some have had a defect where they come to a complete stop as your driving causing accidents
I have 2020 Nissan Rogue. Does it have a speedometer? I just want to know and show the speed on my screen while driving because there are places that has speed limit.
I don't know... I liked this CVT transmission a lot, no problem whatsoever.
My 2020 doesn’t have 360 or a sunroof. What the heck
If you ask me it is better looking than the recently redesigned crv or rav 4!!
Totally agree. Beautiful suv
Just the design Of the engine I guess.
do the new awd Altima's also vibrate like the Rogue? That could possibly by my next vehicle when my lease is up.
Whats the price on this?
16:54 Mark
The front of nissan is been the same forever they need a change
Its called brand recognition
I love it. As AYates stated, it is brand recognition. I absolutely know when I see a Nissan.
@@joannfelters8198 Yeah, after I got my 2017 Rogue a few weeks ago, I'm noticing Nissans left and right. The front end is very distinctive, esp. the day time running lights shaped like an arrow. Smart thing to make the front the same across all the models.
Dazlidorne Jenkins Like the triangular headlights on the Murano and Maxima for example
Great review. I would just upload it 1.25x. It was perfect.
Rival rival rival rival.
Rivals.
I have been driving Nissan vehicles for 10+ years now, all with CVT. I can't see myself going back to a "traditional" automatic vehicle.
@Bjorn Ironsides you put more faith on my versa note, hope last me long
Wow so nice 😍 I have Nissan Murano 2009 I want to trade in to rouge sport 2020 love Nissan
Still good first used Nissan Rogue I can buy.
Great Nissan.
I have a 2015 rogue I have no problems with it
I know how you feel. I love my 2015 Rogue
(especially both Honda and Nissan/Datsun deeply struggle in the Indian market as India preferred to overtake China as a workshop for the rest of the globe)
Thus, when Honda already forged engineering deals with Kawasaki and Mahindra, therefore Honda, so do Kawasaki (unless when Honda buys Kawasaki Heavy Industries), would take over Nissan. And in the end, Acura and Infiniti would cease to exist.
Mitsubishi Motors on the other hand, would merge with utility vehicle expert Isuzu instead... (sorry for the words)
How is their cvt in reliability?
Depends on how you drive, but the drive belt will eventually break. But not before your warranty ended.... expensive fix.
Looks like a 2015 Nissan Rogue just new interior
And a lot more safety and convenience features.
2018 Volvo xc40 has more storage everywere and under the front seats and under trunk, grocery holders, and u can divided storage on the back cargo. Air subwoofer technology with harman kardon sound system.360 backup camera. The new 2020 volvo xc40 is pure electric.
Yes the new XC40 is quite good but why post that in the Rogue video? The two are not in the same class. :).
Volvo is shite
Subaru and Suzuki (but its already not in AmeriCanada) are winners
My friend had a 2016 model. It’s transmission broke after couple of months. It was covered by warranty but god knows what will happen after that.
@@EpicEternal2 1 dealer near me also does unlimited powertrain warranty. I had it on my 2008 nissan versa cvt. I didnt have to use it though.
Nissan cars will be very good if they have a direct shift AT. Nissan needs to discontinue the CVTs AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
180,000 miles and still going so that proves u don’t know what you are talking about
David Pelzel what year?
I went with the RAV4 haha But yes the Nissan Rogue was a really nice car all the Bells and whistles who knows mite drive this car for a while switch lol we will see great vid by the way thank you
Thanks!
What about the CVT transmission??????????
My 2020 Goal is this Suv 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤❤
Why not wait until the new model debuts? I can't imagine getting the last year of a design, unless it is a really good price.
@@Dazlidorne true, I guess I can atleast wait to see what it will look like....
Are the door handles still s***?
