Does the new CFMPA (or whatever the academy is called these days) also teach about bread and butter or did they leave that phrase with the old building?
While the CFMPA has certainly evolved over the years with new training techniques and facilities, the 'bread and butter'-those core skills that every military police officer needs-are likely still a major focus. Even if the building or the language has changed, the fundamentals that make a solid MP haven't gone anywhere.
So they still believe that ironing, memorizing who The Branch “leadership” are and marching are still core values of a good police officer then? It’s nice to see somethings are left unaffected by time and environment.
damn man that is a cool job , if I could go back in time 10 years I would enlist for sure , but the cool thing about MP is that they can probably transfer to city police quickly if they wanted to change jobs , I always thought they wear camo uniforms but it looks like they wear regular police uniforms
Lamo you have no clue what the military is these days do you. Before the purges tampons lower standards and female chief ... Maybe was half decent. But now 😅😮😮😮 all that plus no guns ammo planes or boats.... We are soo done.
Yeah, MP would be the most applicable job for any police force in Canada. You could totally enlist as a reserve, it's never too late to do something you think you wouldenjoy. It sure as hell would be hard but you may end up regretting it if you dont.
@@TrueNorthDefender Okay thank you so much! I am keeping my options open I wanna go into policing but at the age of 20 civilian police departments will not take me.
Q. Can you do security with help for other military members who arrive at your doorstep, maybe to do military excerice's or to help with guarding other M.P'S OR P.M.'S?? THANKS
No. You just police the bases/installations. Nobody likes you, you deal with alot of seriously fucked up individuals, you're guaranteed to be dealing with at least one domestic dispute/abuse call everyday or so, you get to be the first on scene when a service member/vet kills themselves. It really isn't a great job, I'd just join the RCMP if you want to be a federally employed LEO, or try and join your local police service if they're hiring. If you really want to be in the CAF, there's a hundred other jobs you could do, pick any of them except MP.
I got hired to do this in 2015. 3 day MPAC at CFB borden. Spoke to MP's there who told me to run..dont do it. I went municipal police in the GTA instead. Every MP told me to run and dont do it 😅
I've heard the same as well. In general cops are treated like shit here in Canada, we don't nearly have as much drama and issues as the US cops but still. Especially as a MP the treatment may be worse lol, but someone has to do it. I have tons of family in policing so thanks for doing what you do.
I totally agree. Mental illness is a huge issue in Canada, and there definitely needs to be more support and resources for those who are struggling. We need to keep pushing for better access to mental health care and more awareness to help everyone get the help they need.
The absolute worst trade that you could go into in the CAF. They screw up their investigations on a continuous basis. Not respected by anyone and they eat their own. Glorified door checkers … at best. Ask the 14 Wing Greenwood MP Detachment about the incident where they found a Zamboni driver dead in the arena. The MP’s were supposed to do their nightly security checks on all the buildings on the Wing. Yet, for whatever reason they didn’t check the arena. The guy had a heart attack and laid there *all night long* (between the door bench and the ice) when they finally found him in the morning. They of course covered it up, nothing was said. 🙄
It's true that the CAF's Military Police, like any organization, can have their challenges and areas for improvement. Mistakes can happen, and it's important that they learn from them to do better in the future. Hopefully, with ongoing training and accountability, things can improve and ensure better outcomes in their investigations and duties. Fingers crossed 🤞
We all got vacinnated when we were kids to go to school, vacinnated from polio and the works, why is it such an issue that COVID vaccinations are required, is it because it's a new vaccine or do you feel as though they shouldn't tlel you what to dow ith your body? Just curious. I trust the institutions in place and the doctors, but would be cool to hear your opinion.
@@TrueNorthDefender I take issue with false science and fake propaganda. Soldiers, nurses and doctors were fired for not getting inoculated because people believed the vaccine would stop the spread of the virus. This is not true and it was never true. One should never be forced to pick between there job and a unproven vaccine. I have all vaccines I am not against them however this covid vaccine is not what it was sold as. We discriminated against Canadians and allowed the vaccinated in restaurants and the unvaccinated were not welcome. This discrimination was based on fake propaganda. Those soldiers fired should have never lost there jobs and the people in power will never be held accountable. Out of curiosity are you aware of how many Canadian soldiers died of Covid?
Lol no wonder why they got their right to investigate sexual assault within the Caf taken away. They don’t serve us fellow soldiers many will ticket you for going 1kmh over the limit and pretend like they did something.
Thank you.

This does seem like a common trend, especially in the comments. I am not in the military myself but it's for sure not a occupation I would go into.
