    Would you happen to know if these are the same teardown for the E45? Also, do you know where I can get a new internal battery? My sons scooter seems to be having an issue with the internal battery. The external battery is showing fully charged.

      Hi, yes, from search results it looks like internal battery is the same. But take it apart to make sure if you need to change it anyway. Buying a new one will set you aside of 150 - 200 USD. I don't know a shop in the US that sell these, but a search on google on "battery for E45 e-scooter" should give you some google shop results in your area.

    I have the Segway Ninebot P65E and have done less than 160 miles with it. It's just over a year old (about 20 days over). The battery is now discharging at a rate of around 20% per mile, where I used to get about 20 miles per full charge (extrapolated - I'd ride it 6 miles, charge it at work, ride 6 miles home and not charge it, then repeat, so it was only ever about 35% at its lowest). It's stored indoors out of direct sunlight, in our living room (no space outside). Used the original charging cable always. Temperatures are good at around 17 C according to the app. I hope they help, because I don't want to risk messing with the battery pack, despite me being an engineer (mech, not electrical)

      If you can get it changed under warranty, then it's the best way if you don't want to mess with it. To me it sounds like you either have some strings that have a few dead cells, lowering the capacity of that string, or the pack became unbalanced. Either way you have open it, measure the voltages and get your pack in good shape again if you want to use the full range.
      If you take your time to open the pack carefully, you will learn something new and probably fix others scooters in the future as this is a big problem on majority of lithium batteries after they get some cycles.

      @@thecelldoctor8890 thank you very much for replying!!
      The scooter has an app which shows the voltage etc of the battery. It shows quite high, at over 53 V fully charged. The power readings on charge make sense as well, as do the capacity readings of 12000 mAh on full charge. It just discharges so fast! Could it be something to do with the calibration of the battery?

    • @thecelldoctor8890
      @thecelldoctor8890  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@herrzyklon Most of the e-scooters run on 13S . That means you have 13 strings of 4.2 volts. So the fully charged voltage should be around 54.6 V.
      Trouble is that you see overall voltage in the app and by measuring the charging ports leads, but some of the strings can overcharge to 4.3-4.4 to compensate for the other strings that are too discharged. That will depend mostly on the BMS used in those packs. Some packs use some cheap BMS'ses that don't balance cells at charging and overcharges strings as well.
      Try to get at least to the balancing leads of the battery and measure individual strings to know for sure what's going on.

    Can you tell me the battery orientation. Starting with the top right looking at the long bms board to start, working from left to right top to bottom. Then the small bms board. Left to right ,top to bottom, please. I took them apart without recording what was what! Thanks.

      The Long BMS board has markings for each cell. Positive to negative and which cell number goes where. It's a 10S pack. I recommend understanding how series and parallel works first before redoing the pack. It's 10S 2P. Once you understand this, you will figure out how to assembly them back.

    Hey, what is this module that you have connected to the laboratory power supply and use to charge the battery section separately? 21:40 🤔

    So why did you disassemble it all the way to the cells? It seems like a whole lot of work for nothing when all you have to do most of the time is to get the battery out and charge through the discharge line at the battery and then apply 12 volts to the white plug.. The black and red wires after connecting the charger then the bms will start blinking red showing it's accepting a charge? Im just curious as to why you did it this way??? For me I let 4 of these scooters sit for 2.5 years and they all went dead into deep sleep mode so I was just waking them up

    • @thecelldoctor8890
      @thecelldoctor8890  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Some of the cells were discharged and some not. Applying voltage on the discharge lines might wake up the battery, but it will not balance the cells. Charging individual cells from the series will ensure that all cells were fully charged and the pack is balanced.

      @@thecelldoctor8890 Yeah those cells that discharge like that are weak ones and proably bring down the rest of them by not being able to charge fully to 4.2, replacing one could bring back lots of capacity. I have an e45 i found in the dump with an error, turns out the internal one just wanst charged, because the external one wasnt making connection to it because it got loose. Taking off the external battery and charging the internal one fixed it but getting the external battery was the trickky part, i see I wasnt the only one with issues heh, i had to use a screw extractor to get it out, probably another reason it was thrown out, it looks like they also tried to get in there, eventually stripping it. Anyway i only get 12km range with this battery pack, sure its not going to be the full 22km like it was new but i think replacing a weak cell or 2 may bring it back closer to 20. So this information is very valuable thank you, even to build a new one from scratch, lots of good info here thanks.
