Glad you're okay, even with that painful road rash. Hit from behind is insane. Sad about the bike though. I'm all gear myself, great to see your gear took the brunt of it but I can't imagine what your dulcet tones were exclaiming when you got hit from behind. Glad you're out there again, keep good stories and happy days happening mate.
Wowser glad your ok, and appreciate you sharing your experiance as to what happened split second impact riding gear exposure points and upgraded gear. Ride on
Glad you were ok, I gotta get some gear, getting my vtx this week for sure. Down south it's so humid, I just have regular boots, after watching this I feel like engineering boots won't make the cut.
I wear Aerostich and a Shoei Neotech. For boots I wear 5.11 lace and side-zip duty boots. Glad you're okay. (a fan from northeastern Minnesota (formerly of Kirkwood and Ballwin))
I’m so glad ur OK! I’m not gonna lie these last couple rides I’ve taken have been so hot. I stripped my jacket mid ride. I think I’m gonna keep it on now! Thanks for the reminder. I can’t wait to see the new bike.
I crashed that bike over two years ago. I’m not sure if the gear is still available. But I recommend Alpine stars for the gloves. And Dainese for the jacket. I hope it helps. Check the ratings online. Thank you for watching.
Vstrom is totaled it is bent completely upward. I was doing 65 miles an hour on the highway and got hit from behind from somebody who was going way faster. He was not paying attention and he hit me. I flew over the handlebars and slid. The bike is totaled. I’m looking for another one.
Your gear was basic, but did a passable job this time. The tone of the video is that you are upgrading to mid level gear- better coverage for a crash like the one you just had. Your next crash might be worse, so the smarter move would would be to go directly to top line gear. 1. Quit screwing around with work boots- get real 12" motorcycle boots like the Sidi Performer Gore-tex. 2. Get a Klim Badlands Pro jacket and pants- go to their site and read about the tech in them. Plenty of vents so you can wear them all year round, triple layer Gore-tex so you don't need rain gear, (and when it starts to rain you already have it on) State of the art textile shell and D3O armor 3. Get a top line Arai or Shoei helmet. I find the Shoei GTAirII to be comfy & quiet as well as providing excellent protection. 4. Lots of choices for gloves, which other posters have addressed. Go to the top line stuff the next time you update your gear- the only thing you'll regret is that you didn't do it sooner.
I appreciate the comments and suggestions I’ve been looking at a lot of different gear and I’m still making adjustments. I do have laceless motorcycle boots, it’s just not always easy to bring two pairs of shoes every day. I ride every day and on the weekends, and when I go to work it’s good to wear something that I can jump off the bike and go straight to work on. I do appreciate the suggestions I will look into Klim. Thank you for watching.
@@tgmotorider.narratinglifeo3480 A friend of mine wears an Aerostich Roadcrafter one piece suit. It has two zippers- one zips from the neck to one leg cuff. The other zips from the waist to the other leg cuff. When we stop for lunch or a break, he unzips the two zippers and steps out of it. Might be the ticket for commuting where you wear work clothes underneath. In my younger days I used to wear my motorcycle boots at work all day.- just wore the pants cuffs on the outside. Am retired and wear full gear whenever I ride, but only ride when I can do a hundred miles or more.
just discovered your channel this evening as I am looking to start a journey on two wheels. I scrutinize everything I watch. I heard you mention Yahusha (Jesus Christ), that was more attention getting than your accident and the video you done on the VTX1800. If you are professing Messiah be bold! Glad you ya made it out that relatively fine.
Thanks man, I appreciate that. Need to find a replacement for that one. I’m down to three cruisers.

How about the vstrom ? what happened to it? How it took the crash? What went wrong, and what is fixed? Is it totaled?

@@Akramsh thank you!! I’m still riding my other bikes.
Glad you're ok, but HELMET?
A little scuffing on the back I got a new one anyway. I actually kept my head tucked pretty well.
Hire an attorney immediately. These distracted drivers need to be punished financially. Cheers.
Rip Strom.
Loved that bike.
