Great vid as always - would be good to see this boosted and the end results. Btw gotta ask did I miss the cameo from young Jordan - he’s usually creeping under an engine bay or ducking under the camera 😀
Great video! Shame about the block, but helpful information in your explanations. If I may ask, what are typical compression numbers you’ve seen for healthy Gen 1 V8s in the 30-40k mile range?
Hi Ricky, I read that the "service limit" is 9 bar,...So if you for example had a psi of 10 to10.5 across all 8 cylinders would you consider this an issue on the V8?
Not good news , go for the rebuild if block can be saved , don’t twin T , stick a simple blower on then restore the entire car it will make for a good series , stick with her and save it 👍 Oh and pick a decent colour - PLEASE 🙏🏻
@@jonesywebbles3708 i had a cupra type r (2005) one day i lost a huge amount of power, almost felt like i had no turbo (was 270bhp and felt less than 200), took me weeks to find a broken vac pipe but thats what it was.
A vw beetle engine will drop straight in and some fruit decals will go with the paint scheme.the super in super car means super prices.tip of the week.when you go to buy a car like that take a real mechanic with you even if it costs £300 for a few hours.maybe rename you channel, sheds are us.
Great seeing the detail of this having watched Mat’s version on his channel. Good luck building your channel guys 👍🏻
Thanks!
Oh no! Feel for Matt A. on the results there. Hopefully it's back to full health soon! Great content! Really nicely put together!
Thanks for the comments!
Be great to see this progress
The start was like watching Jay & Silent Bob. Great upload.
Thanks.
Aldi " using a bit of oil" now that's an understatement ( the dealer will tell you it's standard )
As long as not more than 1 litre every 1000km it’s fine.
The costs sounded quite good and competitive for a "supercar"
Rick: “technical…mechanical…technical…mate……so ya…”
Matt:”yaaa…yaaaa..uh huh….how much?….”
Me: already lost 😂
For the nerdy petrolhead this stuff is just ace. Love it.
Thank you for watching.

Thanks! Jordan was busy working on a Porsche 992 - we'll get him back in the next one!

Gutted for you, I sold a BYH with 50k onit for £5500 a couple months back . Not the end of the world , still got the manual box if you need it 👊🏼
Thanks!
how am i just seeing this now
What ultimately happened to this car? Don’t think i saw a follow up. thx.
Did it get rebuilt/repaired before it was raffled off?
I think the new owner has taken on the project!

10 psi is basically zero. You mean bar?

Why didn't mat explain this on his own channel?
probably so they would look it for free
Think it’s what youtubers describe as “content” and he’ll be keeping stuff for another day 🤷🏻♂️
He did. He showed the compression check and the cylinder camera footage. He also teased the rebuild with either a supercharger or twin turbos.
Interesting that after this he went on a trip to Scotland in the r8 ,amazed me that a vac pipe fixed the car!

Surely cylinder leakage test would be more be eficial and tell you more
As described in the video, we carried out a leak down test which goes hand in hand with the other tests. Cheers
I hope you don't just pay Matt to stand there😉🙈
Subbed great interesting content.
Looks like a Bmc Allergro beige
Mistake, wasn't my fault but....
2nd chicane at Combe on your track day, put a wheel on the curb and lost it into the wall, dho!
Twin turbo’s the way to go
Agreed!
Who owns the Charger and is it a Hemi or Wedge?
A client and it’s a Mopar.
The colour would be a start
Can somebody tell me where I can get that wing protective film from?
It’s low tack carpet film from eBay or Amazon Chris!
@@REPerformanceUK awesome 👌 thanks
Damn, they don't use liners as standard. Surprised.
I would 1st look for a second hand lump.. Its a sports car so people do tend to crash them.
A new engine is surprising value for the V8 too.
Sorry but thought it was a v8? When he was talking about the rebuild.
Yes, it is V8 engine.
Why the music... We want facts. 😊😊
So how much does it cost?
Horrible colour.
So did it get fixed? 😊
On an ex track car you wouldn't expect excess carbon build up
On those V8's its a killer no matter what the use of the car.
So it's completely shot.
Call it as it is boys. LoL
Everything can be fixed!!
Sleeve it!
Would be the answer on this!
German engineering eh!
Bought a ticket to win it 🤷🏻♂️
good luck!!
Hmmm burning oil... so difficult to figure out... TH-cam mechanics...
