It's a good looking truck. But I feel like they are getting further and further away from the "affordable" market. Those trucks used to start at $23000 CAD when they launched. Now, they start at $35000. Which is littelaly 50% more expansive. Such a shame.
I saw another TH-camr (Andre from TFL Truck) going over the new Maverick today, and he mentioned that not only are they offering the option of 4WD, but also they made the electric motor stronger and more robust. I wanted the 4WD with the Hybrid when I bought my 2022 Maverick, and now can't help but want to trade up to a 2025 now that they offer it (with only a 2mpg loss in fuel economy!)
It still has the same listed torque though. They may have had motors burning out and put in a more powerful motor while not running it at a fraction of its capacity to keep it from burning out
I like the improvements overall, but I'll hold onto my 2023 Maverick hybrid XLT lux. I like the Eruption Green color, the beige interior option, and I like the updated infotainment/HVAC controls/digital gauges. I'm a little torn on the new front end because I like the grill and bumper, but the headlight change looks a little odd to me. Lastly, I really like the option for a Hybrid with AWD and a 4k tow pkg.
All of these change imho are really nice and love it. My only gripe (I wasn't holding my breath for them adding this for the refresh, maybe when they update the whole vehicle in a couple years) is a midgate. I want a midgate so bad so I don't need to pull a trailer for longer pieces of wood, Kayacks, etc. and I don't want to have to have the gate extender. It's just another piece of equipment that will take up room either in the truck and the garage. Give me simplicity with the midgate and less stuff to physically manage. Sadly, for me until someone offers a midgate option I'll be keeping my jeep Cherokee where I can put the seats down and put in several 8ft pieces of lumber without issue inside of my car without the need for a trailer. Otherwise, love all the changes they added to the 2025 version.
Ford has definitely done some things right.....I have a 2023 Hybrid XLT, and my wife has a Hybrid Rav4. My Maverick is actually WAY MORE SMOOTH in the transition between electric and hybrid modes! It is barely perceptible in my Mav, but it is very noticeable in the Rav4! I want the the AWD drive, so I have ordered the AWD Hybrid in the Lariat trim, with 4k tow. My son will be buying my 23 from me when my 25 comes in.....
I was told the same thing by a couple that had just test driven a Rav 4 hybrid and we're now test driving the Escape Hybrid. Excellent observations Steve. Thank you for taking the time to share with our community.
New tech is much appreciated. Sync 4 bigger sceen and digital dash is what it should have launched with. Finally coming into its potential with AWD hybrid. Ready to pull the trigger if Ford has worked out the kinks after several years of production.
Literally JUST bought a used 24 Hybrid. The only thing I’m not FOMOing about is the lack of buttons; I really like the buttons I have in my Maverick. That said…everything else looks perfect.
I want to upgrade. Disappointed still no memory seats and no power passenger seat. These are on the Escape and they are the same seat bottom; easy to add, make it an option at least.
I just got my 2024 XL Hybrid in Atlas Blue.....It took 14 months to get it....I like it a lot but damn I like the new Green and the idea of an all wheel drive in a Hybrid.....
Johnny, do you know if the keypad, (reintroduced) is the stick on battery version, or is it the wired version like was available on the 2022, and 2023 models?
YES I will be upgrading to the new 2025 maverick tremor, lariat luxury package green. I have the 2022 Ford Maverick, lariat cactus gray eco-boost luxury package sunroof currently.
I like that green! The front end is ugly but it is growing on me as you said. I Have a 2023 EB AWD Lariat and would consider a 2025 AWD HYBRID LARIAT. I owe nothing on my 2023 so I would not have to pay a lot. I like those wheels too
Ford USA has had the build and price for the 2025 Maverick up and running since last Friday but not Ford Canada. I guess we are a little slow here in Canada.
I would like an hybrid with 4 k towing but cheapest is $32k. I bought my 22 XL hybrid for $22,250 with hitch and co pilot 360 before tax tag title. This is alot more money for awd and 4k towing.
Hi Johnny. I have a 2023 Maverick Lariat AWD with luxury package, 4k tow package, black appearance package in Alto blue. I'm not crazy about the front end design on the new Maverick. I do like some of the other changes though. I will be sticking with my current Maverick unless the Godfather makes me an offer I can't refuse. How are your lovely wife and beautiful new baby doing? Are you back to getting enough sleep yet? Cheers Bob in Ottawa
Howdy Bob. This vacation week was all about afternoon naps and going to bed early. My brain is getting better, if only Lilly could stop being in heat ans Winston is waking us up many times per night. Marie and Baby are incredible blessings. Thank you for asking
Ultra disappointed that the AWD hybrid didn't get a torque increase. I don't expect crazy power but this will be very toothless off road and on road if towing. Even a modest 30ft lbs would have been respectable.
Still don't like the new front end. NO I will NEVER grows to like ugly. Good for AWD hybrid. BUT its up 4 grand from 2023 XLT hybrid model. I THINK 2 grand from 2024 model Seems to be 2 grand a year up. The screen is no big deal to me. I never look at mine to busy driving. This is fords lowest cost vehicle YIKES. Weird adding AWD to hybrid isn't much money . Glad they didn't do plug in. To much $$$ for not much. 500 mile range I get 500 EASY and have roof rack with one kayak on roof. I once just got 500 miles with two 17 long kayaks all highway up to Georgian Bay. Planetary gear CVT is good assuming it last. Love the way it drives.
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews I know. That was the thing I had been hoping for. Rumor control had it months ago that the Maverick was going to add a hybrid AWD. The 4 K towing hybrid was a bit of a surprise. The PEHV feature that I was watching for (Like the PEHV escape) was not going to happen. I still believe that would be a nice addition, although there are quite a few variations already. In any case PEHV Maverick would be an interesting configuration because of the increased battery and electric motor adding to H.P. and torque.
This is an AMAZING UPDATE... Drive-Train.. Great Updates.. Thanks for the review!
Thanknypu Spacetech. Tonight Duane and I will dog deep into the details such as improved oowertrain
I think the addition of the eruption green is a home run, although it appears to be for 2025 only.
Great point Duane
AWD Hybrid with 4k tow that still gets 40mpg is amazing!!
42mpg but yes it is amazing
Ordered mine yesterday, can't wait! Thank you, great video!
Thank you very much for the feedback, and for the positive comment.

yup, def not buying.. Last hope is Toyota Stout now.
Just bought a beautiful new 2024 Maverick XLT in Canada for $40k and love it. It costs you almost twice that for a used full size truck "as is".
Toyota Stout being less $$$$. Highly unlikely
Thank you for dropping a comment
They start just under 28k which is still significantly below the average price for a new car today
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸
But all of them are too expensive 🤧
The XL isnt....
@jerrycasey1635
Ok 👌🏽.
I can't afford the XL is way too expensive,
My 2022 was 19,995 for a hybrid.
I do like the way the new tremor front looks, ill buy the pieces and put it on mine, 2023 Tremor

Use to be $19,995 Base 😢
the rona years and LOTS of inflation put an end to that plan (which was made pre-rona)
That green is NICEEEEEE

wish we got rid of the dial and moved to a shifter on the wheel. but hey what can ya do. my 2023 staying here still
They should just borrow the Bronco shifter!

Agreed

ordering a green lariat AWD tomorrow:)
Great choice. Love the new interior and the color is my favorite

Great question for a parts guy once we have the diagrams. Maybe a few weeks and a parts guy can answer that.
I would love to upgrade until I saw that hideous new screen and they took away the physical HVAC controls and other physical buttons it appears.
Thank you for the feedback
YES I will be upgrading to the new 2025 maverick tremor, lariat luxury package green. I have the 2022 Ford Maverick, lariat cactus gray eco-boost luxury package sunroof currently.

I don't like the front end. Looks like a band-aid over the previous front end.

I agree with everything you said. Luckily we got a good price selling our Maverick already. Wheels and color are excellent. The interior is great

Hondainsoght thank you for the information
ayee new screen lets jack up the price 36%.
It has gone up a good amount since 2021
Still worth the money....
Still not a fan of the new front end sadly. Also the price increases and less HP doesn't help but overall still a great truck.
Tim Bartz wrote thst the loss of power on the 2.0l turbo is due to a new fuel filter they had to put in for emissions

Thank you for the support. Mike
Thinking it is going to be vehicle of the year ❤🎉. This going to sell. I can see back orders fast😅
100% agree
still fake leather? or real ? listening to the video in the background. God bless you guys
Thank you Sir. It will continue to be active, the reused, recycled plastic that looks like leather. Great question
I didn´t like so much the new design of the head lights. I prefer the actual design
Good feedback. Thank you

The amount of torque given is gas motor only. No way to know the total torque of the electric motor for certain, but I'd speculate 40 to 80lbs ft
I would certainly let someone order and then when ot comes in test drive with their trailer attached
Don't understand why they dropped that FX4 option from the Lariat.
I'll be opening up the order guide in tonight's live with Drive wild outoors
Because of the Tremor I assume.
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews Canadian order guide?
Front end is hideous, and would prevent me from buying it~ I'll have to wait for the total redesign to trade in my 2023 Lariat AWD for an AWD Hybrid.
Well, opinions are like arseholes!!!!!
Thank you for the feedback. Personally I've grown to like it and overall I love it

I'd gladly pay 4k extra for AWD IF it had a bit more torque.
PEHV
