  • Need an easy way to fix a wobbly table? Try using some adjustable furniture levelers!
    In this video, I demo how to hide these levels inside the table legs. You could also attach them directly to the bottom if you're not comfortable using a spade bit to drill into the table.

    At first I thought it was going to look pretty hacky with random feet leveling feet sticking out of a beautiful table, but hiding them inside the legs was pretty genius, and unless your floor is atrociously out of level, it doesn't seem like they're very noticeable at all.
    Of course I was looking into furniture levelers to use on the workbench I just built for my garage so I won't be doing the extra work since appearance isn't super important. I can't blame anyone but myself - I'm just not a woodworker, haha. Garage floor is pretty level.... The accuracy of my cutting might vary just a tad off.... okay, not a tad...more than I'm willing to admit. In any case, these things seem like they'll work great.

    Is there a way to ensure that the drilled holes are perpendicular to the bottom of the table leg? In the video, you can see that the holes were drilled at a slight angle. This resulted in the disk of the adjuster not being parallel to the bottom of the table leg. So the weight of the table is resting on the edge of the disk and not the full flat surface. Perhaps it doesn't matter, but for me, I'd like to know if there is a way to avoid this. Beautiful table BTW!

      Hey Bob, nice observation. I’m not sure of a way other than just to try to hold the drill as straight as possible. You may be able to use a portable drill press drill jig, if the base would fit on the leg

    • @xlmaster9298

      @@mmcc_woodshop6288 Some drills (such as the one I possess) have a built-in spirit/bubble level, which you can use to ensure you're drilling at a near-perfect 90 degrees...but then again, for that to work perfectly, you will first have to ensure that the table itself is nice and level, in its topside-down position (legs facing the ceiling)...which means what, you need to also install these levelers on the top-side of the table (which is facing the floor when you're drilling the holes in the legs)? Catch-22 'eh?
      The way I would do it is to lay the table (topside down) on an already levelled surface (I'm in the process of making such a gizmo, for epoxy resin applications to my amp chassis and turntable plinths), and then use the bubble level of the drill as a guide to get a near-perpendicular hole.
      And btw, the levelling gizmo that I am making (for epoxy resin purposes), is already utilizing these levelers on the bottom of a piece of wood, alongwith a bunch of spirit levels on the top side of said piece of wood.

      Thanks, guys, for the feedback. In my case, the legs are not yet attached to the table. But as you both mention, the problem remains as to how to ensure the drill bit is perpendicular to the flat bottom of the leg. Holding the leg vertically and level is its own challenge. Even building a contraption to hold it all together while drilling makes assumptions as to how each piece is level and positioned relative to the other parts. I'm surely overthinking this as I imagine that if the leveler is slightly askew, ultimately it will make no difference. The table only weighs a hundred pounds so it's not like the pressure on the leveler will be huge. Interesting discussion though. 🙂

    I need some advice I have a gaming Lshaped table and Im on the second floor which is carpet or shakes even tho I put it against a wall what should I do should I remove the leveling feet?

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  ปีที่แล้ว

      The leveling feet should help if you can adjust them. The simplest solution would be to just place a shim (cardboard, paper, etc) underneath the foot/leg that sits up off the ground to level it out

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a 1/2 drill bit in the video. Depending on which set you use, you just need to oversize them a little further than the width of the bolt itself so that the lock collar will fit down inside
