Today I want to share the strongest Pokémon for attacking with each type of move. I prefer to have my movesets include two moves of the same type so they're both super effective against the same types of Pokémon. In this episode, I'll break down the top 3-5 Pokémon of each type offensively.

    Hi all,
I wanted to suggest a fews ideas that would bring back some people to the game, and keep people interessed into that game at least 1 or 2 hours a day:
    Niantic needs to create mini-daily-quests:
Those "missions" would reset every 24 hours,at midnight for exemple of your local time.
These quests could be either gym/fight oriented or pve/farm oriented:
1st quest idea: Decrease 2k prestige of an ennemy gym (it would intensify activity around gym and it would push and reward people to fight gyms) Even the 50k gyms would fastly be decreased by thousands with a fews people doing their daily quest) (also pushing beginners to try gyms and familiarize them with it)
2nd quest:Capture 25 pokemons (people would at least walk around and play for an hour or so for this daily)
3rd quest:Spin 25 pokestops (pushing people to move around and rewarding them, can be accomplished while doing the 2nd quest)
4th quest : Perform 10 "great throw" (would push people to increase their accuracy, and add a reward for being a good thrower^^ )
5th quest : Capture 2 evolved pokemons in the wild,it could be pidgeot, golbat, raticate or dragonite w/e (there would be a bit of luck involved on this one,but you could accomplish it in half an hour or try hard 1hour+ to finaly find this 2 evolved pokemons.Who doesnt like a bit of RNG involved ;p )
You would have each quest in progress and reseting every 24 hours like i said.
Like eggs interface, you would have 1st quest : 0/2000 2nd quest 0/25 etc and it would update according to what you do in game.
For each quest accomplished you would be rewarded a "merit badge" an other form of currency, that you would not be able to buy with dollars.
You would earn a maximum of 5 merit badges per day .
The merit badge store would include for exemple:
-10 merit badge exchange for : 1 lucky egg or 1 encens or 50 pokeballs or 1 lure
    -15 merit badge for : 1 incubator
-25 merit badge for :1 10kms egg or 20k stardust
-50 merit badge for : 1 item that re-roll the dice for an attack of your pokemon
(its just what come out of my mind, infinite possibilies there!)
Some rewards would fit the low lvl ,willing to boost their exp (lucky egg/lure)
Some rewards would fit the people willing to complete their pokedex (incubator/10kms egg)
And some rewards would be more end-game oriented (stardust/re-roll the dice on some beast pokemon attack)
Niantic could even put a new 6th daily bonus quest, that would be different every month
There is so much to do with that game.
They accomplished the most difficult part collecting all those datas during 10 years and pulling out a big game like this. Now that they earned billions,i think its time to hire a fews more guys that only work on this type of things, and developpe this game to give GOALS to the players.
Sry for my grammar and stuff, english is obviously not my mother tongue -(
Like this comment,so Nick can see it and suggest those ideas in some videos.Maybe it ll come to Niantic ears :)
    Moins

its a combination of your strongest pokemon. most likely they will have super effective attacks or resistances against the enemy pokemon. ive noticed it takes the stronger pokemon into account when generating the 6 pokemon and not so much the first ones you encounter at the bottom of the gym. so in some cases you might not even have a good counter for the weakest/1st pokemon you fight

Anyone else sick of seeing the same 7 Pokemon in gyms? Snorlax, Lapras, Arcanine, Exeggutor, Vaporeon, Flareon, and Dragonite? And sometimes Vileplume, Victreebel, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur or Aerodactyl? I wanna see more variety. Pokemon like Machamp, Gengar, and Alakazam are way too weak for the Pokemon they are in the real Pokemon games. In the real Pokemon world, the champions and gym leaders always had more Pokemon. If there was an Elite Four in Pkmn GO they'd all just have Dragonite and Snorlax and it would be as boring as gym battles in Pkmn Go are. We need more potential in Pokemon like Raichu, Dewgong, Cloyster, Weezing, Porygon, Omastar, Kabutops, Rhydon, etc. to make the game more interesting. And when are the legendaries going to come out? Let's admit it: unless they ban legends from gyms like the real games, all we'll see in Gyms are the legendary birds and Mewtwo once they come out

    • @Mr1152451

CubexGaming same sentiments man, but unfortunately for my part, I needed the coins so I have no choice but to put my Snorlax and Dragonites for it to last longer while taking down other gyms. I would love seeing the likes of Rapidash or Sandslash atop gyms, they look so majestic compared to the lazy looking egxecutor.

CubexGaming Totally feel you here man! I live in Philly and it's hardly diverse - even here. My original goal when I started Pokémon Go was to troll people with powerful bug Pokémon at gyms but, as it turns out, that's impossible lol. We need more flexibility in our Pokémon and the ability to play more strategically.

Powering up a Pokémon gives it higher defense stat?? Mind blown. I thought stats were static.
A video about what actually happens when you power up a Pokémon would be so awesome!!

    • @Icewolfnector
      @Icewolfnector 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Powering it up increases it's level. Thats why all it's stats go up, not just defence.
The base stats (which indeed are static for each "race" of pokemon) are basically a sacling factor for the pokemon how high his stats are on each individual level compared to other pokemon on the same level.

    • @Raqtor96
      @Raqtor96 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Icewolfnector .. That sounds cool. Read up on it on TheSilphRoad. Seems they figured out that level does affect the stats. Just not easy to see since a lvl 40 Pokémon isn't even twice as high as a lvl 9 Pokemon.

from my experience as a professional Pokemon go player(ex hacker). i would take down any gym with dragonites only, and i would only power up dragonites and snorlax(only for holding gyms). vaporeons/arcanines at 2k arnt worth powering up if you evolve eevee, and growlithe at 800-1k cp btw im level 31/32/31/28

disclaimer: this is about bug type, we all know its not great.
you have parasect listed 3rd in your ranking of bug types, and justify parasect being your go-to because its not weak to psychic, meaning its more useful against exeggutor.
however id recommend a pinsir instead, and heres why. Amoung bug type pokemon, pinsir has the highest max cp. It has x-scizzor just like parasect, so it can attack between each of exeggutors attacks. And of course, it is a bug type only pokemon, so it wont take super effective damage from psychic. I know you didnt go into extreme detail because of time and, well, who are we kidding, its bug type, but this is for anyone else who cares :)

    • @Eillwinnas2
      @Eillwinnas2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

No, Pinsir's Fury Cutter is worse in every way than Bug Bite. Neither Pinsir or Parasect take super effective damage from Exeggutor's Psychic quick attack, so not sure what you're saying there. Parasect double resists Exeggutor's Solar Beam if he has it, where Pinsir only has one type that resists it.

    • @jaredtami6738
      @jaredtami6738 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you, i was looking at incorrect info in regards to bug bite and fury cutter. I didnt take into account a solarbeam exeggutor, but that wont make a large difference given it is still resisted. The approx 400 cp difference in the long run of comparable parasects and pinsirs still makes the pinsir more desirable in my opinion. Not that it matters much in attacking an exeggutor, but pinsir doesnt have nearly as many weaknesses as parasect either.

Parasect is actually weak to psychic. Scyther's bug buzz can be safely used between any of Exeggutor's charge moves, so I don't see how Parasect with x-scissor is better.

Now with trading. How I believe they will bring it in is this , by matching up the cp of both of the Pokemon or trading a Pokemon that has a similar cp of the Pokemon that is being traded to you

Victreebel is a better Poison-type attacker than Muk according to the Excel sheet with Moveset damage calculations. Victreebel with Acid + Sludge Bomb has higher Gym Offense than Muk with Poison Jab + Gunk Shot. This would make Victreebel the best Poison-type Pokémon.

    • @Eillwinnas2

You're right, I overlooked Victreebel for Poison types. It is the strongest Poison type with Acid+Sludge Bomb. Charizard ranks slightly lower than Magmar with Ember+Fire Blast, though.

I just want to clarify that best attacker does not mean the best to use while attacking an enemy gym or training up your own team's gym for that matter. What Nick is rating them by is highest DPS. Which gives you a sense of which is best, but some pokemon have more balanced overall stats with health and defense, and even though their attack isn't the highest of all of them with the highest DPS move set, the stronger overall stat pokemon such as Vaporeon will WAY out perform pokemon such as Golduck.
I have come up with a better list based on the overall stats + move set on which is most effective in actual battle while controlling the pokemon (attacking a gym).
    Following the video's types:
    Normal - Snorlax w/ Lick+Hyper Beam
    Fire - Arcanine w/ Fire Fang+Fire Blast
    Water - Vaporeon w/ Water Gun+ Hydropump
    Electric - Raichu w/Spark + Thunder
Grass - Venusaur w/ Vine Whip + Solar Beam
Ice - Lapras w/ Frost Breath + Blizzard
Fighting - Machamp w/ Karate Chop + Cross Chop
Poison - Muk w/ Poison Jab + GunkShot
Ground - Rhydon w/ Mud Slap + Earthquake
Flying - Pidgeot w/ Wing Attack + Hurricane
Psychic - Exeggutor w/ Zen Headbutt + Psychic
Bug - Scyther w/ Furry Cutter + Bug Buzz
Rock - Golem w/ Rock Throw + Stone Edge
Ghost - Gengar w/ Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball
Dragon - Dragonite w/ Dragon Breath + Dragon Claw
Dark - Arcanine w/ Bite + Fire Blast
Steel - Dragonite w/ Steel Wing + Hyper Beam
Fairy - Wigglytuff w/ Pound + Play Rough
I also have a 2nd and for some 3rd top picks (either different pokemon or same pokemon with just a different move set) for each category cause I know not everyone can get a Muk.

      2nd/3rd tier choices
*Note that I include charge attacks for some of the types that aren't for that charge move because when fighting, using charge moves will still be more effective than the fast attack move that may be super effective with the type advantage*
Normal - Snorlax w/ Zen Headbutt + Hyper Beam
(3rd is a toss up between Snorlax w/ Lick + Body Slam and Wigglytuff w/ Pound + Hyper Beam)
      Fire - Arcanine w/ Fire Fang+Flamethrower
      (3rd Flareon w/ Ember + Fire Blast)
      Water - Blastoise w/ Water Gun+ Hydropump
(3rd Vaporeon w/ Water Gun + Aqua Tail)
      Electric - Jolteon w/ Thundershock + Thunder
      (3rd Electabuzz w/ Thundershock + Thunder)
[Raichu is only #1 because it's quick attack is Spark which has better DPS than Thunder shock, but it's stats are slightly lower.]
Grass - Venusaur w/ Vine Whip + Petal Blizzard
(3rd Venusaur w/ Razor Leaf + Solar Beam)
(if you really can't find Bulbasaur)
[4th Victreebel w/ Razor Leaf + Solar Beam]
Ice - Lapras w/ Ice Shard + Blizzard
(3rd Lapras w/ Frost Breath + Ice Beam)
[4th (actually still Lapras with Ice Shard + Blizzard, Lapras' stats compared to Cloyster is op) but Cloyster w/ Frost Breath + Blizzard is a worthy meantion]
Fighting - Primeape w/ Low Kick + Cross Chop
(no 3rd worth using, most fighting types against normal types usualy is already bad, Nick explained this in a vid about Snorlax)
Poison - Muk w/ Poison Jab + Sludge Wave
      (3rd Weezing w/ Acid + Sludge Bomb)
Ground - Golem w/ Mud Slap + Earthquake
      (3rd Sandslash w/ Mud Shot + Earthquake)
Flying - Pidgeot w/ Wing Attack + Aerial Ace
(Tied for 2nd Pidgeot w/ Wing Attack + Air Cutter)
      Psychic - Exeggutor w/ Confusion + Psychic
      (3rd Hypno w/ Zen Headbutt + Psychic)
Bug - Nidoking w/ Furry Cutter + Megahorn
(I know Nick will be mad at me but.... 3rd
      Parasect w/ Bug Bite + X-Scissor)
Rock - Golem w/ Mud Slap + Stone Edge
(3rd Omastar w/ Water Gun + Rock Slide)
Ghost - Gengar w/ Shadow Claw + Dark Pulse
      (No 3rd)
Dragon - Dragonite w/ Dragon Breath + Dragon Pulse
(3rd Dragonite w/ Dragon Breath + Hyper Beam)
[4th Gyarados w/ Dragon Breath + Dragon Pulse]
      Dark - Gyarados w/ Bite + Hydropump
      (3rd Aerodactyl w/ Bite + Hyper Beam)
Steel - Aerodactyl w/ Steel Wing + Hyper Beam
(Note: Steel type move sets DPS aren't that good I actually recommend any strong pokemon that counter's Ice, Rock, Fairy with other move sets instead of Steel type moves, even Dragonite with Steel Wing + Dragon Pulse or Hyper Beam isn't good)
      Fairy - Clefable w/ Pound + Moonblast
      (3rd Wigglytuff w/ poind + Dazzling Gleam)
Hopes this helps everyone become better trainers.

Thank you for going through the trouble of compiling this list and putting it on here, definitely appreciated! I have a small question, which Nick may well have addressed before, but because his videos are quite long and there are a lot of them I don't always get to watch everything he had put up ^^; If you had two of the same pokemon, and one had perfect IVs, but not the best move set; while the other had, say, 82% IVs but the best move set, which one would you recommend investing in? As I sometimes find myself faced with this problem and end up choosing the lower IV one with the better move set (so long as the IVs are above 80%).

    • @ayerstfamily6982
      @ayerstfamily6982 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Rainy Jane the 82% one as 82 is quite high and if the perfect IV one had the worst possible moveset then definately the 82% one.

    • @loljustice31
      @loljustice31 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Ayerst Family Thank you, definitely appreciated; I guess it's still a bit hard to decide when there's a perfect IV pokemon but with a move set somewhere in the middle... ie, not the worst one, but not the best either XD

I find Wigglytuff to be incredibily good. I have difficulties fighting against Lapras because my Jolteons and Raichus have low CP and die immediately. Then I used my Wigglytuff, thought I already lost the battle, but it killed the Lapras amazingly fast :)

REVIVES: In a gym battle you can always switch to the next pokemon when a pokemon is about to faint. When your 6th pokemon is about to faint, simple run away. That way you won't need revives. If a pokemon did faint you can power them up, that way they will slightely heal, because their HP increases and you also won't need revives. I'm sure Nick already knows this, but perhaps some of you didnt

I'm a instinct player too, and have only recently found your TH-cam page, here's a another Tip that I use as well, when taking gyms, if you ever run out of revives, Power Up your dead Pokemon, it will add 1+hp to it, then you can just heal it ( no rivive needed) also do use ever battle the gyms together? (at the same time) much much faster.

    • @Syndravarium
      @Syndravarium 8 ปีที่แล้ว

I believe it's caused because the data in your phone is different from the data that is stored in the servers.
For example I'm from team valor, today I beat a mystic gym, then I put my own pokemon and trained it once, but before the training was over, someone from mystic took it back. After that, my phone tried to increase the gym's prestige, but the server can't accept it because it is now a mystic gym. So, I think the phone keeps trying to send that information, but the server thinks it's invalid.
I would also like to know more about this bug, because it sometimes makes me lose more than 10 coins (getting out of range doesn't work for me :( )

when battling gyms I think it's best to not let you're pokemon faint if you can help it in order to conserve your revives. switch out when they get red then quit before the last. You'll get less points but you'll be able to fight more because you're splitting the cost of fighting between max, hype, and super potions as well as revives.

I just powered up some of my best attackers too, only those with 95% IVs or better with perfect movesets. I pumped up Dragonite, Arcanine, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Sandslash, Lapras, Poliwrath, Ninetails, Cloyster, and Golem. Powering stuff from level 20 (hatching max level) to 30 is about a 20% power increase and worth the investment for good Pokémon.

Hey Nick, what do you think of this idea:
In many places that I go to, most gyms are level 10. As a solo player, it is near impossible to take down these gyms let alone defend them. So, what if every 2 weeks or so gyms are reset so they are free for all again? This would make the game so much more interesting.

In a pinch,Powering up a Pokemon will revive it if it gains an hp. Also max revives at level 30 help out a lot by giving you 2 possible revive drop possibilities from poke stops

Nick, did some experimenting with incense runs over 30 miles per hour. Go Plus does detect the spawn by vibrating. You can also hit the button to attempt the catch, but it will never show anything onscreen. No messages, no line, no spawn, but they are still there!

    Dear Trainer Tips,
    Hey Nick!
I just have a suggestion about the "Gym dominance" ( I have yet to find a clever name for the gym problem where you see nothing but level 10 gyms scattered with very powerful Pokemon, which makes it both difficult for opposing teams and friendly teams to gain and take prestige)
This will answer your concern for the attackers having an advantage and at the same time give an advantage to friendly teammates.
I have run into problems such as the lapras problem you've had when attempting to build friendly prestige.
What if there was a simple time limit that Pokemon could hold a spot in the gym?
-an example would be every time a Pokemon is placed in the gym there would be an either a 12 or 24 hour expiration.
Basically giving a chance for other players to take a turn having a spot!
What if there was a time limit for gyms on a larger scale?
-perhaps everyday, a gym would simply clear all Pokemon completely, (an example, would be everyday at 9:00am, and this would EXPOSE hackers and deal with then at the same time so even they have to wake up and grind on the game as well, and will allow niantic to monitor which users are frequenting the same gyms everyday) leaving the gyms open for people to go back out and to play competitive once more! Of course, if you wanted to wait for gyms to go down before going out, you can totally do that or you can still battle existing gyms to get more experience, which benefits those that want to level up in the game!
This opens up for even the simplest players and allows a refresh for new gyms to at least attempt to take a gym and earn in game currency of course, and allows ONE USER TO PlAY THE GAME AND STILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO HELL HIS/HER TEAM.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this message.
    Your subscriber,
    Chaz
(OPEN TO OTHERS SUGGESTIONS AS WELL, AND ALSO WHAT COULD BE THE FLAWS OF THIS SYSTEM?)

Which pokemon are better to powerup. Attackers or Defenders?

Wigglytuff is by far my most used and effective gym attackers. My 1529 CP wiggly with pound+play rough takes out some of the most common defenders (with just under 2k CPs) and my 1869 WT can take out a 2k+ Dragonite with ease. Basically Wiggly is super good against everything except Snoralax.

hey nick! when you mentioned poison pokemon, you had weezing listed 2nd but forgot to mention this is a legacy moveset (his only fast attack is tackle now). also, just a comment about your video creation process: when you talk about pokemon movesets i noticed you do hand motions to coincide talking about each pokemon's fast and charge attack which is great but you go from right to left (audience perspective) when you do it, which is backwards from how we typically read. just a small thing but thought it might improve your videos in the future.keep up the great work man!

Very early on I caught a Wigglytuff with Pound and Hyper Beam with relatively high CP above 1,000 and it had pretty good IV's and I've been slowly leveling him up ever since every time I catch more Jigglypuff's, funny thing is I didn't know it was a good Pokemon to have until way later when I looked at lists and was like "Oh hey this is actually a perfect moveset for this Pokemon! Yay!"
