They don't cost 0 dollars to make. I'm sure the manpower cost for coding and testing and the licensing from Gamefreak as well as your typical operational cost with servers and the usual overheads means nothing they produce in this game cost nothing
I agree that they are overpriced & as such, I skip out on most of the tickets but this is such a little kid take, lmao. 1. The majority of games have things you can buy in-game, ranging from DLCs to cosmetic items - this isn't new. You do understand the majority of video games aren't free, but yet you've paid to buy them. It's a similar concept. And 2. This is a company...companies aim to make this thing called "profit" that I'm sure you'll learn about once your age hits double digits.
2$ community day tickets just reflects how incredibly greedy they are getting...and why I stopped caring about doing much in the game. Fomo isn't a thing when so much is difficult to get without a lot of cash or walking ability. Pay to get some bonuses in a mobile game, sure. Pay to basically participate fully in any event, events that are back to back to back to back is just silly. When pokemon go was newer I constantly praised that this was how mobile games should be monetized, like yea you can pay to progress faster and do more things more often but a free player could still participate in basically everything and do a lot. Now it's borderline pay to play, anything that matters anyway. This isn't inflation, this is just downright greed.
Imagine if Zorua community day really happen in Pokemon Go features Unova Zorua and Hisuian Zorua together. All Pokemon in the wild spawn appears based on your buddy adventure. Only Zorua in the original appears in wild spawn for players who don't have a buddy adventure. First ever community day where players Pokemon Go map doesn't share the same Pokemon wild spawn.
This is what ultimately broke any sense of fomo I have with the game, back to back semi-impossible to do events unless you pay a lot for incubators or walk a ridiculous amount every day for some of them. It makes it so that now, missing something means nothing to me so the game is just super casual and I don't care about anything.
the war in the Ukraine has really done a number on pokemon production, not to mention the fuel costs to transport them all over the world seriously though I've seen 1261 voltorbs with no shiny, so I'm looking forward to that event
The $5 Raid Day ticket actually is the same as it’s always been… though it’s still far from an ideal price. At least it’s not the WORST deal, if you’re able to use all those extra raid passes. Also, for Lunar New Year, my guess is for Orthworm. Yes, it’s more of a worm than a snake, but it’d still make sense with how they’re still favoring Gen 9 a bit more than Gen 8.
People seem to forget that Niantic are a business and their prices will be set in order to maximise profit. The prices will also reflect what they believe people are willing to pay based on data. Don't blame them for charging it, blame people for paying it. The vocal online "community" represents a tiny percentage of people who actually play these games. Also, see it as a hobby. Hobbies cost money, and I bet even if you paid for *every* ticket available it would still work out cheaper than most hobbies. $5 for a ticket for 8 hours of play? How much does it cost to go to the cinema for a 90 minute film? If they didn't charge anything, the game wouldn't exist, or would be riddled with ads. People have just lost all sense of context/perspective nowadays because it's easier to get outraged and complain online.
Hatch events during both winter and the holidays are hilariously shortsighted, but the overall events are pretty meh. Seems like Niantic's model moving forward is that they will have mini-events that have some benefits (and micro-transactions), but their focus will be primarily on the Safari, Generational Tours, Go Feast, and the new Wild Area events. As someone who doesn't play as much anymore, I'd rather they focus on high quality events rather than quantity.
My next year, Pokemon Go community day prediction. Generation 9 Starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly. Jangmo O, Pikipek, Klink ( Magearna make it debut in Pokemon Festival 2025) Larvesta ( after Unova tour) 😬🥶 Pawniard, Darumaka, Zorua ( Hisuan Zorua debut during com day) Pawmi and Smoliv (Pokemon Go 9th year anniversary) Have 12 Pokemon Go community day and hope 1st ever Pokemon theme for December then recap Pokemon community day for the same entire year. Niantic, you need to change the community day pattern to make the game more interesting.
I’ve never thought we should be able to delete eggs. But for hatch days. They really need to allow it. I currently have four 12k, 7 10k, and a 2k. There would be almost no chance to get more than a few chances at hatching a shiny.
Depending on the weather and my schedule at work I might do the hatch event but at the moment I'm happy with what I've gotten up to today the other day I did a Dynamax Charmander battle and ended up getting my 1st shiny Dynamax Charmander which I immediately evolved all the way into my 1st shiny Dynamax Charizard along with a shiny Alolan Sandshrew, I now have a mega Latias and just today I did my daily adventure incense and got myself a Galarian Zapdos 0 star appraisal but it was weather boosted with a cp of 3023
Quick question if I want my Pokémon to learn a specific move that can be learned only in the community day is it possible for it to learn it after the end of community day?
The $5.00 ticket claiming better odds for rare XL candy is bullshit tested it with necrozma raid day 54 raids without the ticket 4 lousy rare XL a whole 7 rare XL With the ticket. 3 rare xl ain't worth $5.00 m
I enjoyed your update video Nick, thanks! 😊 There are a few events I decided weren't worth the trouble of giving up my money....I need enough money for prescriptions and food, thanks Niantic.
Their pricing just further underlines how Pokémon GO fell off from the fun it was initially… (Part of it for me is that I don’t know any Pokémon from these later gens)
I actually don't have a problem paying for Pokémon go. I love the game and it's my entertainment BUT I stopped buying coins and tickets a while back because I was fed up to the back teeth with paying more than players in the US. You know it says something like $10 (or the equivalent in your local currency)? When that not true. In the US, something that costs $10 in the US costs £10 in the UK. £10 GBP = $12.50 currently. $10 = £8 GBP. That is at todays rates from Google. Why should UK players be paying more? Until Niantic stop favouring the US over the rest of the world I am sticking with FTP
Yeah Nick, I love your content, and I always like being aware of what's going on in the game because to be honest, I don't read most of the blog posts... but I'm starting to feel like I should just avoid these announcements now, because I'm getting as annoyed as you about the monetization. I'm not 100% FTP, but I don't even feel like as a working adult with kids, that I even have enough time to take advantage of all the benefits of these paid tickets. It's just getting annoying... rant done!
What Pokemon do you all expect in 2025? Definitely no new generation 10 Pokemon in Pokemon Go even though introduce in Pokemon era. This is 9 th year old Pokemon Go it must be featuring something from generation 9 Pokemon. Paradox form Pokemon from Generation 9 including the Paradox form Legendaries Pokemon. I’ve always wondered the connection between people who play and report on the game for a living and the people who actually run the game trying to make money…. 🤔
The Avatar clothing is a waste, seeing as they charge like all the real high fashion designer prices for stuff that doesn't even flatter the new Avatar bodies 😅 Yes, you are getting a rare view of my grumpy side today. I hope you all have a great day. 😊
The worst is hatching and raids straight up scam, you paying for the chances to get a hundo, shiny or if extremely lucky shundo but even if you pay for the incubators or raid passes the chances do not go up 😂 what a scam 😂
I hated how they released the Paldea starters before the Galar ones! Now were getting the Paldea starter/shiny community days before the Galar ones!!??? Boooooo!!!
I am really sad for the game I am not buying anything I don’t have the money this is for rich people and there kids 😂😂❤❤ should of jumped when reversal did 😢😢
The Paldea starters released over a year ago. Too soon for Galar, since they flipped those gens. Wouldn't be surprised if they combine Com Days with the Gmax versions of Galar starters.
Pokemon Go's releases are a bit weird post-gen 6 because the game came out in 2016... so there was a massive backlog, but in order to promote the new games they released generations out of order. Now we are at the point where gens 7-9 are more or less treated as the same gen by Niantic.
Inflation on digital tickets that cost $0 to even make on items and digital monsters in a video game is WILD
They don't cost 0 dollars to make. I'm sure the manpower cost for coding and testing and the licensing from Gamefreak as well as your typical operational cost with servers and the usual overheads means nothing they produce in this game cost nothing
@ yeah but with every event they’re releasing tickets you’re telling me it is that expensive and they’re doing it to cover costs? Haha no
The only cost that I can imagine is the electricity bill for the servers but that's it.
I agree that they are overpriced & as such, I skip out on most of the tickets but this is such a little kid take, lmao. 1. The majority of games have things you can buy in-game, ranging from DLCs to cosmetic items - this isn't new. You have to hat that 69 percent 😂
I think it's their plot to get people to use up all their purchased incubators before the new year so they can spend more money in 2025
Can’t wait until the future when we’ll be offered the opportunity for extra rewards at every pokestop for only $1!
lol delete this comment before they see this
Don’t give Niantic any ideas. Now they’re gonna discuss this at the business meetings
They're gonna do it like the dynamax so it's coins to get more stuff 😂😂😂
A full dollar? More like 0.99¢
Game feels so dry. These holiday events suck.
If Steeled Resolve isn't the debut of Corviknight, I will eat my shoe. Damn thing is right on the loading screen so I figured it was soon.
I feel the same about MEGA METAGROSS!
Could be Kingambit as well
Steeled=Steel
Resolve=Fighting or Psychic
Watch it be another Lucario-focused event.. 😂

6:22 There’s a few more. Camerupt, sharpedo, Mewtwo(!), metagros, I’ve been told.
Why are there always so many events happening in Pokémon GO that are right next to each other! It's so overwhelming lol
Because they want you always playing and fomo is a thing.
This is what ultimately broke any sense of fomo I have with the game, back to back semi-impossible to do events unless you pay a lot for incubators or walk a ridiculous amount every day for some of them. It makes it so that now, missing something means nothing to me so the game is just super casual and I don't care about anything.
@RyuRaeArashi thats exactly what happened to me as well.
I miss doing prime time daily incense. Doing daily incense during events feels pointless.
Prediction: we will see Dudunsparce in the new lunar year
ITS ABOUT TIME FOR GALLADE! Been holding onto my shiny for what feels like years
the war in the Ukraine has really done a number on pokemon production, not to mention the fuel costs to transport them all over the world
seriously though I've seen 1261 voltorbs with no shiny, so I'm looking forward to that event

Oh, and also, all of the paid content is OPTIONAL. No-one is making you buy anything 🙂
Hatch events during both winter and the holidays are hilariously shortsighted, but the overall events are pretty meh. Niantic, you need to change the community day pattern to make the game more interesting.
The task will be nice curveball throws
I wonder what's the problem with Niantic and Galar, but I'll take Spirigatito.
The Fidough event seems interesting as well.
Thanks for the news!

$5 to clear your eggs.
making a poke omlette
Price increases probably relate to falling player numbers. PoGo probably has a couple of years left in it, if that.
9:49 - maybe Eternatus? :P
1.44 "to no ones surprise" when did gen 9 starters get com days before gen 8?
Gen IX starters were added a full year before gen VIII ones, hence they get the Comm Day first.
Fashion Week hype!!!!! Been waiting for this one. I need a shiny furfrou 🙏🏻
Nick you are the man

In short no, but you can learned all of the moves on the community day recap on Sat and Sun.
Yes but only by using an Elite Charged or Fast TM.

megas left to be released are Gallade, Audino, Camerupt and the Mewtwo forms.
Sharpedo, Metagross too
Im just trying to save up the thousands of coins i will need for the kyurem fusion energy raids.

Niantic still going strong on alienating its fanbase with all these paid ticket events/locked pokemon behind eggs only
Hey buddy!!!
still waiting for my volcano boi mega camerupt

None of this looks like it’s worth doing

Why are they skipping a generation for shiny starters?
who is making these damn events over at niantic? i mean seriously, magby and elekid in EGGS?!?!?! man these guys are just stupid sometimes.
Increasing the cost of the paid ticket makes sense as it costs more to produce imaginary digital goods. Obviously. 🤪
❤
Does anyone care about max pokemon? Because I don't. Getting so fed up of these pay to play things as well
Pogo really becoming a pay to play game
confirmed, voltorb IS a dog
I’m joining the people who think this game is silly and a waste of time
What is your pokemon go code is
