A truly multi-faceted video: Where else can you get DIY; a cooking equipment review; multi-purpose tool demo ("it's a bread knife!"); a new sausage recipe; health and safety instructions, AND a promise of future scary Hole Cutter of Death footage? No wonder we're all glued to our computer screens night after night. I think the one "thumbs down" came from someone terrified James was about to breath his last after drinking that coffee.
An original vlog, no music and lots of effort wrestling with ceiling panels. It's good sitting here after a day of shovelling snow watching someone else struggle. Very entertaining though James, even the cookery lesson. 🌭
Making your warm libation at the beginning of the video reminded me of the old gag where the featured character talks while adding so much sugar to a cup of coffee that the top of the pile of sugar builds up like a small mountain rising out of the sea. The punch line is of course "This coffee is cold!" It's amazing how much difference it makes to get even a single ceiling panel in place. Having that preview makes it a little easier to accept the one step back to get two steps forward. More work, but no worries. It's nothing that a wee dram of the single malt can't more than adequately reward!
Your struggle reminds me of my apprentice days 50 years ago working on iron-ore ships on the River Tees, but without the warmth of a fire... I didn't count the number of failed ceiling boards I had cut from looking up and measuring to looking down and measuring only to find I'd measured from the wrong side having lifted up the boards to the ceiling,, ''bugga'' was the call and from other cabins along the passageway, frustration too.... Cannot wait for the wiring connection info at the distrubution panels, not seen that done in real time before.. Keep 'em coming James you're doing great..
Unboxing stuff seems to be de rigueur on vlogs these days. It's like Christmas Day every day. Cutting your bread with a saw blade guarantees that someone will now send a bread knife or even a canteen of cutlery. Keep it up James.

I'm going to have to see the boat before you go down to London. I just hope these covid rules are relaxed a bit before you go past Gayton junction. I'm only in Northampton at present. You are getting on really well.
I know it's counter-intuitive but to cool the stove down you need to open the vents up not close them down. Having the vents closed means there is no airflow so the heat stays in the stove and builds up. If you open then vents the fire will burn quicker but the airflow will take the heat up the chimney and out of the oven, it'll get rid of the fuel quicker too.
I think you’ve found a new idea for a cafe. Stove top cooking with workshop tools lol. Proper. I see that you’re loving now the stove is up and running and that progress is being made with the ceiling.
Evening James. That butty looked awesome 😋 Don't know how you continued working after that lol 😂 That ceiling is really making the boat look homely. Keep the good work up ship mate 👍🏻
Good vlog as usual James, was getting a little concerned about your fire bars which can melt just above white heat!! bet you've burnt off all the new stove smells now.
Hi James just me again another good vlog just thought I might say that your cooking reminds me of them how not to safety video's you have to watch when you start a new job😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I have to admit I was just a tad concerned about the amount of coffee and sugar you added to your mug at the start of this video, until you poured it into your flask - phew!
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt thats ok then . I used to take 2 spoons of sugar in tea and coffee, now i donttake any at all and it just tastes great , when i saw you do that i thought yuk all that sweetness.lol

I hope not. The jigsaw blade worked just fine, maybe a little uncouth, dare I say even uncivilised, but it’s more fun than a bread knife
