A video of the severe thunderstorm that brought heavy rain to NYC this late evening, causing some flood on local freeways. This storm system was responsible for bringing some tornadoes in Dutchess County, NY. and Western Connecticut.
On the bright side, this storm did briefly quell the 90+ degrees heat!

@@SpottingWithTom The riots and protests happened before 2020, and it was from the liberals who hated Donald Trump who the libber women started all those joke of those marches saying it was for women rights, but no Republican women were allowed to be apart of it, even though it said Women’s March…for womens rights. Funny thing is, women have had rights for a very long time. Lol. And funny how those women didn’t have a “March” until Donald Trump became the President. Lol.. those marches were for bashing all men and Madonna threatening to blow up the White House. The riots were from hateful liberals who destroyed property, and they beat up anyone who was a Trump supporter. As soon as Bi-Done became the prez, funny how there’s no more hateful bashing men and women’s rights marches. Now that it’s ok to be around people with or without wearing a mask, I haven’t heard about any women’s angry marches. 2020 was just about the Corona virus. We couldn’t leave the house to have riots or protests. What a shame. Lol

@@stephensnell1379 Oh absolutely. I always pull over if I believe that the weather is too dangerous to be in motion, just like the Georgia video I made in May when I got pummeled by quarter size hail!

The National Weather Service in New York City has issued a flash flood warning for: New York County in South-eastern New York. Brooklyn in South-eastern New York. Western Nassau County in South-eastern New York. Cranford County in Northeastern New Jersey. Richmond County in South-eastern New York. Suffolk County in South-eastern New York. until 9:40 pm. At 8:23 pm. Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing heavy rain across the warned area. ½ inches of rainfall are expected. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall. Or caused plenty of small creeks and streams: Urban areas, Highways, Streets, and Underpasses as well as other drainage areas in the low-lying spots. Do not drive into areas, Where the water covers the road, Most flood deaths the current automobiles and vehicles. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Please report thunderstorms, strong winds, large hail, flooding and heavy rain. When you can do so safely to The National Weather Service through your Facebook. Repeating: A flash flood warning has been issued until 9:40 pm to the following counties: In New Jersey, Bergen, Essex and Hudson, and the following counties: In New York, Bronx, Brooklyn, Nassau, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Queensbury, Suffolk, Cranford, Rockland and Westchester.
My area in Connecticut was under a tornado watch as well. Was hit by 4-5 thunderstorms in 5 hours.
It seems new york has the best severe thunderstorms. I would love to move to new york and work as a real estate agent but I think I'll wait till the pandemic is over.
Come to chicago, ny storms are tame compared to the storms here. Look up the august 2008 chicago lightning storm

These storms were located in Iine of Little Egg Inlet to Queensbury. 40 miles per hour in South-east of Staten Island. Moving east at 50 miles per hour. Severe thunderstorms will be near: Bronx around 8:10 pm. Jersey City around 8:15 pm. Western Nassau around 8:20 pm. Port Richmond around 8:25 pm. Jamaica Flushing Kennedy Airport Clearview Expressway Whitestone around 8:30 pm. RFK Bridge around 8:35 pm. Westchester around 8:40 pm. Long Island around 8:45 pm. Flatblush around 8:50 pm. Five Points around 8:55 pm. Severe thunderstorms produced damaging winds, destructive hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection. Move to an interior room of the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas. Where the water covers the road. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm. And may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Repeating: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 8:55 pm late evening for the following counties: In New Jersey, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union. New York City's weather:
(!!!) Late-evening severe thunderstorms with steadier shower in places and the area. Then a slight chance of torrential showers arriving overnight. Potential for severe thunderstorms. Low near 56°C. Chance of rain 99%. Winds light and variable.
That same day at like 1 AM in far SW Louisiana there was cat 4 hurricane laura with winds up to 150+ mph along the coast in some of the little bayou towns like Holly Beach and Cameron.
Also the city of Lake Charles took like 130+ mph winds.
That date just reminds me of Laura.

I started the video in Rego Park, and drove to College Point (where I anticipated the heaviest of downpour would be based on radar tracks...and I was pretty accurate!) and then I drove south on Van Wyck through Flushing, Kew Gardens Hills, and the video ended in Jamaica.

As an Autistic person, The only way I can experince thunderstorms is through videos like this one, irl thunderstorms hurt my ears, eyes, and head.

I have never been in a tornado but I have been in a REALLY strong wind but that's bc I lived in the UK
I assure you they are nothing alike.
The roar getting louder and louder as it draws near is pretty creepy and a nerve-wracking.
I also wish I could get a thunderstorm like that but with very powerful straight lines winds that push trees down or uproot them cause I have one near my apartment that is really annoying me etc. it’s a very thick tree though.
