I'm doing more research and need some money to do this swap. I thought it would just be a matter of copying and pasting the EEPROM data on the new cluster but it's not that straight forward.
@@MegatronicsZA A few days ago I DM'ed a dude on tiktok who got it to work. I asked him what I'd need to do the replacement, he said: The cluster, the pin adapter, immobilizer transfer + coding, upgrade can-gateway. I dunno if this helps tho. I could ask him more?
Yeah that's some pieces of the things you need to do for the swap but I found out that there's more. There are some addresses on the Immobilizer that needs to be changed. He's right about the things he told you, but how you need to do it, the steps to follow. They don't really share that info. If you can please ask him for more info.
I've seen some people online get it right with a golf mk6 cluster but also as you well know they don't show how they got there. I have seen an upgrade on a passat where the original board was used and then entire cluster was swapped to digital I'm thinking of going that route as the screen and board are all that's required as far as I could tell from the video
@@jaynaidoo4986 yes you are right they do it with a Golf 6 cluster that they put on a VW Golf 5 casing and make it work but they never show how they got there but I'm making progress. I've ordered the tool from AliExpress but it will take time to arrive.
could you please do a video off the dashboard and engine fuse boxes and diagram if available. I have the same exact vehicle and I can’t find a diagram ANYWHERE and I’ve put one of the fuses in the wrong place so I need a video to show where they all go. Thank you so much

I am doing the same swap on VW Caddy 2006 with cluster from 2012. I Got it working by changing immo data with AVDI in obd2
