- Lincoln Riley gave a lengthy interview with the ON3 Network recently as he discussed everything from the state of USC's football program going into year 3, as well as recruiting and what the future holds. During the first segment, I explain my thoughts on how Riley sees the program
Can we finally put the JuJu Lewis saga behind us now? He's all done with his official visits and the predictions are rolling in. No one has removed USC from the lead.
Every successful football program is disciplined on and off the field. Ever since Coach Riley took over team discipline hasn't been an issue. But there is always an issue that needs to be addressed. I offer my solution to a situation that may need the staff's attention.

Most have never built a business or in this case a football program. In business it takes a few years . You make a lot of mistakes . People come and go until you get a foundation of people who believe in you and your company.
I could write a book on it. You can't understand unless you've done it.
What's important today is you build your staff, LR must believe in his own ability to build the organization. Along the way you need administration support as your using their money ( it's not your own business it's USC's)
Support LR know the nats , bugs like Finebaum will be around trying to put negatives in your ears . Stay the course!
Heck if you are paying them then the boss has the right to tell an employee what the rules are and that following them are essential.
We just need to keep rolling in the right direction!

It all sounds good and I believe him, but it's time to start producing on the field and getting and KEEPING these high profile DL recruits. It gets tiring to see them flip to Oregon , Georgia, Ohio St, etc.. I wanna see all these ( built in ) advantages start to pay off, because I haven't seen enough of it recently. And I'm not an unrealistic fan who thinks we should go 12-0 and win the Natty every year. It's year 3 now... It's time to see results!! 10-2, CFP berth, and potential Big 10 Championship game. That's not unreasonable. They should be able to accomplish that this year...
Ps Marc, please have a segment soon about what Paul Finebaum said that LR is thru at USC. I'd love to have your take on what that blowhard said! And I would LOVE for you to have him on your show sometime if that could be worked out..

Morning Marc, I don't understand it CLR has his first full season without double digit wins and he can't coach why all the hate Finnebaum. Let's not forget the dumpster fire he inherited.
It was a solid interview and I enjoyed the open conversation minus the usual coach speak 101. I am a big time LR and staff guy. ✌✌✌✌✌
Riley has atoned for mistakes. He added top defense coaches (add ex Rams McDonald). ADJen's unwise NILs are deal breakers. These coaches can make 4*s into 5*s. Forget recruit losses!
No he hasn’t. He still needs to prove he can change his culture from finessed football to physical football 🏈

Gonna need kinda hard to force people back into campus housing if they’ve already signed a lease. Better to give them a custom made “USC Messenger” app with geo-location.

U missed the most concerning part of that subject , SC is coming off a 8-5 season and lack of leadership & sense of urgency is still an issue apparently.

@@Talkinsports91 And you missed the part about our record and team performance last year being well known and well publicized. I know we went 8-5 and had a sieve for a defense.
@@LockedOnUSC The custom made app is still a good idea. It allows the coaches to know where the players are at all times and be able to communicate with them. There would have to be a requirement to carry their phone with them wherever they go.
Say Marc, what up with all the doom and gloom brother. You know we had the number 20 rank class last year. This year we already the number 15 rank class. We always been great closer's no matter who been the Coach been. As far as the other ✌️✌️✌️✌️ emoji, I think there other states recruits and there agents done got smart 🤓 . Keep it on the low,for they don't have to feel the pressure of these town kids. Fight ON
None of the SC receivers mentioned here had more than 300 yards catching to their name. They have hardly seen the field. The offense last year was missing an OL and it will be the problem with SC this next year. Moss does not have the escapeability that Caleb did and Caleb needed it just to be able to throw down field. Its going to be a long year for the SC QB. It doesn't matter who is the USC QB, not even a Heisman Trophy winner could get them anywhere.

I know we pay more taxes but I’m positive several of your subscribers have the option to work out of state but we choose to stay as you cannot beat the weather and all the amenities we have. If we can entice them to at least give it a year they will be sold. This should be a heavy focus.
The issue USC is going to have is the high taxes Cali has. The bag is smaller for any new recruits coming in because of that. I don't see much advantage anymore to the L.A. lifestyle being a factor. Everything is falling apart in state unfortunately.
Most athletes will be setup as an S Corp or another similar structure. The taxes will be similar state to state and not a big difference. None of these athletes are w-2’s where that would be an impact them.
@@ajstar89 Doesn't circumvent the cost of living out there. A higher tax rate is still applied at state level. Federally it shouldn't be much different, that is true.
@@michellecruzhickok6244 you negotiate housing into the NIL deal as provided in the scholarship like years prior. Reily negotiated similar for his deal 😉. I’m telling ya most people taking any income will do it in a stock format and pay less than a standard person on a w-2 in ca making it about even.

I think don't Lincoln will be at USC forever. No, I don't think he will bolt to NFL, but I do think USC brass removes him instead.
LMAO There is not one annalist or ranking service in the country that puts USC's WR room in the top 20.
Recruiting rank this year: #17. Next year: from #3 down to the 40's with the decommits. Portal rank: #33. Preseason rank: 17-27 that range. SP+: 23. FPI: 18. Vegas: 7.5 wins. It's gonna be ugly.
