NO WONDER… JD is the only level headed objective one in ON3 everyone there tries to be but cannot help their personal biases.

stfu. cant stand our casual butthurt fans. never willing to accept the truths about the state of our program. we havent been relevant in 15 yrs, we cant recruit locally. Kids dont want to come here because we have nothing to offer except a great education which isnt that high on kids list.

Thank you Marc! I had no idea JD was a SoCal guy. I may listen to him differently in the future. I share your zeal for the future vs the past of SC football. It pains me to see a series cancelled like that. It’s also sad to see us lose when the SEC is crowing about their records when they play glorified JV talent teams and see them rewarded for it.

Thanks, Marc, for again giving us a well-informed, thought-provoking show!
Even though hindsight can be 20/20, I think timing is EVERYTHING! Nobody knows if we would have gotten Lynn, Henny, Belk, Entz (ANY of them) if LR had pulled the trigger on Grinch after year one! Time WILL tell!

To be the best you should play the best teams. I think the fans would rather see USC play Ole Miss than a mid level team. The Ole Miss game would tell Riley if USC is good enough to make the 12 team playoff selection as Ole Miss has a good team.

Gents, CFB is FUNDAMENTALLY different from the CPC “Glory Days”. Scheduling a top-tier non-conference opponent makes little sense. Goal now is to win the conference and natty. Winning either is MUCH harder now. B1G is better than PAC-12. Look who got added!
Also, consider this: During both ‘04 & ‘05 title runs, USC ONLY played 13 games. PAC-12 did not have a championship game. The BCS#1 vs BCS#2 winner “earned” the title, except when the coaches poll caused co-national champs to be crowned in ‘04.
MI (and WA) played 15 games this year. Next year the national champion (and runner up) will play 16 or 17 games. No CFB head coach or AD would voluntarily add a TOUGHER non-con game to the schedule.
Chance of injuries is REAL. Why put all your best players at risk in a meaningless non-con game against a top-tier opponent (Especially when doing so doesn’t help achieve your ultimate goal).
Want more CFB? You got it if you make the conference championship game and the CFB playoffs! FIGHT ON!!!✌️✌️✌️
