Men of Troy played like little boys of Troy for most of '24 season. Bright spots but unable to seal the deal in crunch time where games are won by the BETTER team, which is not where USC is right now...Can't play with the big boys yet...

This season was a tough one , first year in the B10 was embarrassing……. Every football coach I played for were bada$$es they would chew your a$$ until your mom felt it , you played with fear of not letting your coach down and you didn’t want to do green bays and run all practice long the following week 😂 ND is laughing at us , everybody is getting stronger and we are getting weaker….it sucks or we just don’t have the horses as my Dad would say !!!

You shouldn't feel so bad. Really. We're the fifth rated team in the country with a great defense and running game and we only lost once by a point to a team we should have neaten. We were supposed to win. And one correction. A loss would not have knocked us out of the playoffs. We just wouldn't receive a first round bye. Let me leave you with a cheery memory from my years at Notre Dame, sometime between 1970 and 1974 - a period we played SC twice at home. I lived on the third floor of Sorin Hall at that time and one Saturday night after the SC game I went down to rhe first floor to join a dorm party and when I arrived, you know what I saw? A couple USC cheerleaders. I was awestruck. Was so cool they would be so engaging and friendly. We didn't hate SC. We didn't hate any school. We had respect and regard for everyone. Anyway, what a cool memory.

Mark, I generally agree with much of what you say, however, Freeman inherited a very good ND team to begin with where Riley did not. ND has had very good players on each side of the line for years and that's why you find so many of them playing in the NFL, and there in-lies a major difference between the programs. Also, you cannot overlook the fact that the ND defender on that first pick six was holding the back of the receivers shoulder pads; that was an obvious and blatant PI.

This loss to ND was not a blowout in fact the game was much closer than the score indicated. Jayden played well, with the exception of two awful plays. Let's be honest this was not a LR Offense, his offences are dependent on a Heisman caliber QB something we didn't have this year.

Play calling was balanced for the majority of the games but 49 attempts happens due to the last drive of the 1st half then the last 2 drives when they had to pass which is all situational. LR called a good game and Maiava played well 95% of the snaps but those 2 pick 6’s were back breakers, plus that missed PI when Joyner was tackled on the 3rd down screen was killer for us

It came down to team culture. Notre Dame showed that it had more toughness and resolve than did Southern Cal. The Trojans were their typical selves: soft and playing seven-man football. It was the Midwest versus Hermosa Beach, again and always so.

ND fan here: Pre-game Vegas odds favored ND by 7points. IMHO SC is a much, much better team than their 6-6 record would imply. Watching yesterday's game it's tough to understand how this team has lost 6 games. SC's passing game made ND's vaunted Defense to look less than ordinary (except for 2pics near end of 4th Qtr.) If USC 'stays the course' they will be OK

Marc we didn’t have a full set of competent lbs when gentry went down Arnold was fine mason just disappeared soft confused out of position poor angles slow always following plays and standing over pile when whistle sounded. Our lb play overall very poor .

I too am dissapointed. PC made the 6,-6 team see sports psychologist . I think mental health is so important. The whole team and staff including HC should see one. It will lead to break thru.

So much talent at SC, I have to lay the blame at Lincoln's feet. If ND had the WR talent that SC has, I'd bet my mortgage on ND to win a NC. I mean ... I don't understand how SC lost six game this year, but I'm glad they beat LSU.

6-6 and losing to ND is not a very good, period, carriage return. This was LR's junior year. Don't know if he will graduate senior year with Head Coaching degree from USC yet. Hold the D-Staff together. New OC and WR coach needed.

It seems like Riley learns his lesson, but it takes forever to do it. When I saw that he was coming to USC I was excited like most USC fans. But when I saw that Grinch was coming with him, I thought "Well, there's always a catch". He should have never been here, much less had a job after the Tulane game. I just hope that he sees that he can't be the OC and HC before another disappointing season. He must have a huge ego to think he can do both when its NEVER been done at an elite level.

Awful performance by LR again ... USC O could do anything vs ND D run or throw (quick passes not stupid fades) should had went to final possession. SC lightweight D was overwhelmed but ND OC is as dumb as LR and Lynn was getting the ball back when needed. Whole season big time whiff by LR. He should pay back his salary to NIL and buy some players.

First of all , Notre Dame fans , so called Catholic 2:13 behavior at this game was abhorrent, Disgusting. When you leave a little girl in tears sitting next to us , with their Disgusting catholic behavior just because Notre Dame won a football game, was terrible.
