Locked On USC’s Podcast is a show for the Trojan Family hosted by Marc Kulkin, a Columnist for WeAreSC.com. Marc covers the Trojans football & basketball that includes unique perspectives & access behind the scenes. Five times a week for 30 minutes we’ll cover USC Athletics when no one else does. Locked On USC is part of the Locked On Podcast Network.
No. 13 Is Huge For USC
The USC recruiting class grew in number and size when massive offensive line prospect Elijah Vaikona made his commitment to the Trojans. In the show's 1st segment, I break down what Josh Henson will be working with when he arrives on campus. The Trojans are now up to 13 commitments and they might not be done for the week. I explain in more detail.
The Trojans defensive line has plenty of depth. The room is deep with 19 players who can play either inside or on the outside. I explain what Coach Henderson and Nua need the most from their 3-deep depth chart.
In the final segment, I explain my vision for a better USC football gameday. But I need Jen Cohen to give me an open checkbook.

USC Is Filling Needs This Week!
มุมมอง 2.9K21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
USC's recruiting is about to get another bump. Lincoln Riley could see an offensive lineman and one of the top linebackers in the country commit starting on Tuesday. I have all of the news and notes about the players and my confidence level that they'll pick USC. Every year a couple of players surprise the coaching staff and end up starting. Last season a true freshman started at the offensive ...
No More Excuses With Recruiting!

USC added another commitment to its 2025 recruiting class when WR Corey Simms from St. Louis Missouri made his announcement over the weekend. Lincoln Riley and Dennis Simmons now have three wide receivers committed for 2025. I explain what Corey will bring to Los Angeles. In the show's 2nd segment, I explain why USC is running out of excuses when it comes to fixing recruiting. Specifically when...
Inside USC Recruiting

The recruiting dead period is in effect and Lincoln Riley is on vacation, but there is still a lot to talk about. USC lost another defensive commitment, but just one minute later, there was a message from Lincoln Riley on X letting Trojan fans know they had another commitment. It's the recruiting dead period in the football world, but it doesn't mean recruits aren't de-committing and committing to new teams. I explain w...

Lincoln Riley gave a lengthy interview with the ON3 Network recently as he discussed everything from the state of USC's football program going into year 3, as well as recruiting and what the future holds. Dead Period Noise

USC football wasn't the only team taking multiple hits on the recruiting front. Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss lost three commits in one day, and it happened once the dead period started. I explain why this will happen more often with recruiting, but I also explain how USC can help stem the flow of de-commitments in the future. In the show's second segment, I talk about Coach Lincoln Riley's coaching...
Another USC Commitment!!

The Trojans just wrapped up another official visit weekend and they got another commitment. Now we wait for the news to become public. I explain why USC fans are blaming the wrong people for the way they're feeling. USC is an ...

Locked On USC only brings the best of the best on the show. J.D. PicKell from the ON3 network and the Hard Count podcast joined me for an episode, where we talked about USC football's current state of the union, plus, we peeled back the layers on the recruiting angle. The show's second segment is about the bigger picture of college football: the good and the not-so-good. Or wait and see. In the...
No More Verbal Commitments!
มุมมอง 4.7Kวันที่ผ่านมา
I have a solution to help USC stop losing verbal commitments and I explain why USC needs to change the way they do business. With that said, I think USC got another commitment. Julian Lewis was at the Elite 11 Finals and I have some insider news and updates on his play as well as thoughts on Miller Moss going into the 2024 season. It's Friday so of course I have something to rant about that I c...
Willi Knows Why

USC's recruiting class took a couple of steps back when two guys de-committed within 36 hours of each other. But that doesn't mean the Trojans do not have a very good class, including offensive lineman, Willi Wascher. What Is USC Doing Now?
มุมมอง 4.3Kวันที่ผ่านมา
USC recruiting received some negative news when 5-star Isaiah Gibson pulled his commitment and opened his recruitment back up. It's a bad look and I explain why during the show's first segment. The Trojans' optics took another hit on the same day when it was announced that USC and Ole Miss would not play their games that were scheduled to be played in 2025 & 2026. No reason was given, however, ...
USC Needs More Recruiting Noise
มุมมอง 2.2K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
USC's last official visitor weekend of June is coming up and the staff needs to make some noise. It's been relatively quiet, so before the next dead period starts, it would help USC's recruiting momentum with a few more commitments So far, USC's best recruiting haul happened following an unofficial visit when Justus Terry and a few others pledged to become members of the 2025 recruiting class. ...

Ju Ju Lewis: Colorado Bound 😮
With all the craziness going on in CFB, the portal, coaching changes etc…..I don’t get excited about “potential” recruits anymore. Appreciate your efforts and updates to keep us informed. But until one actually signs on the dotted line too much can change. I hope USC has a great upcoming season, so the coaching staff can showcase their success in player development. This will be key in future recruiting. Fight On!
I get it man, trust me! NIL and the transfer portal have really changed how recruiting works.
I wanted to go to a Pac-8 again. Bring back the local feel and jettison Utah and Colorado and the Arizona schools, but keep them on the OOC schedule.
So seven conference games and five out of conference games?😤✌🏼
Joe Castiglione said it best "we talked to other coaches about Oklahoma going to the SEC and they were happy, but the people who weren't happy are here anymore" now who could Joe Castiglione be referring to?
What’s your & Joes point that Lincoln didn’t like Norman, Oklahoma or he’s gonna try and slant something that SEC fan wants to hear? What if we agree -now what?😂😂
I'm no hater because I love when usc has decommitments..
I saw that SEC short. That was hilarious
It was! I still felt bad for Oregon State, and the Washington state though😅

What is the percentage of the 2024 recruits visiting USC on their official visits giving their verbal commitments without the recent de commitments on both offense and defense as of today? That should give us an indication how recruiting is going. De commitments should not be considered a verbal commitment.
It's amazing the haters that have risen from the very bottom of the trash heap. USC has when through something that no other university has went through but SMU. Look at that problem but since time has risen to see better days. You know its funny how these other universities haven't suffered nothing and act as if they're doing something special. No your doing what a power 5 should be doing that's never suffered a death penalty sanctions. Yet were striving for the sky with Lincoln Riley. Oklahoma can't seem to get pass losing Lincoln Riley. Oklahoma he's gone, you should be doing well, Lincoln didn't leave you with the death penalty and you should be doing well with recruiting. Lincoln Riley hasn't said anything about Oklahoma at all to shade them. I think Lincoln Riley out grew is ceiling where he was. I mean a lot of his recruiting was in the great, great state of California. So why not take a job where you see has a lot of interesting things going on and a university with mega legendary history of turning out NFL players through history yesterday and today. Lincoln Riley sees the problem at USC and gave us defensive coordinator all the rope to get it right. He did right I feel by letting it play out to the end. You can't expect to get a good to great replacement by cutting your defensive coordinator short A good coach will not take job if he feels like your not going to stand by him. Lincoln Riley is starting from the ground up with a recruit and development program. Lincoln Riley knows over time the recruiting local and far away will come once it changes it stripes. I see the process that others can't see. Lincoln Riley has to get our California defensive players to believe again after a terrible Clay Helton

Can't wait for football. This focus on pandering to spoiled shake down artists -- aka "recruiting" -- is boring.
Marc the player that I am watching is Newby he could be a Swiss knife I believe he played receiver in high school has speed and size play linebacker and speed. Play a defensive back what kind of people Lynn likes to use?
Raejason Davis will start at LB
Hope so!!!
Once our NIL gets on par with our educational background, we will be unstoppable in recruiting. Best Educational system and Alumni, if we can couple that with a great NIL deals in place, we will have to turn away people.
If we can get the tax rate lowered, it would help big time!
Rusty always putting in work ! FIGHT ON
That dude is absolutely cringe none of his comback are funny
Fountain, Newbie, Shelby, Hughes are going to be THE ones bringing the bizzzness and the hurt!! All-Americans ALL of them.
Marc, the Trojan spirit runs deep in my family. My Grandparents, Uncle, Brothers, Mother & Father all are Trojans, the reason I tell you this is because the way you portrayed Riley Pettijohn’s probability of ending up a Trojan was more wishful thinking than solid info! Please don’t jinx it!! Fight on!!!! And as for Noah “Texas a&m , I want the bag ..I don’t want to have my skills honed by the elite coaching staff, I’ll be in the UFL soon, La Verne. He was more interested in the food than the best chance he had to end up in the NFL, he will regret his decision soon enough!
I like you, Mark, but you're timing kinda stinks, buddy
So does the stench of your comments
Mark, don't get our hopes up after what just happened with those 3 Benedict Arnolds...I will believe it when I see it. Stop it Mark, or should I say Marge

Do not be surprised if Amos rocks the defensive house! I just know coach Henny is cooking something special, all meals got to have wonderful, D E S S E R T,,,
Equal revenue distribution is killing the ACC too. It is neither "fair" nor makes any business sense. Eventual contraction of the B1G and SEC or creation of the super league is inevitable. The revenue generating schools simple won't subsidize the weaker schools forever.

We have to give credit to the hard work the coaches are doing in recruiting. As mentioned prior , it is so unfortunate we kept Grinch to long which has put us behind with recruiting especially on the defense . I think Williams at corner can become a freshmen starter . He is a kid to watch for being a super star . Marc I have a real in your head question for you . Realistically what do you think the teams record will be and why in 2024 ? As you probably know I have them at 8 and 4. . I think the over and under is 7.5. But would really like to hear your thoughts. Thanks Marc , keep up the great work . Especially when there isn’t much you can report on . I cant get too excited about recruits until they sign but like the updates on the non binding verbal commitments haha ! I wish the season started already . But now living down under I am an avid fan of the Australian Football League . My team Collingwood won the premiership last year . So the good thing is , that during the college football off season I have the AFL over here to watch . Lol Fight On !
Braylon Conley would probably disagree; it's going to be fun watching these young stars fight for minutes. Oooh, I can't wait!

Star rankings never matter when the best players Decommitt
USC is the only one of 68 P4 schools without more total, and with fewer blue chip, commits than 11 weeks ago!
I think that we are definitely rolling in the right direction we just need to keep it up. And JuJu will hopefully let everyone know for good that he is going to USC
What if those ✌🏽 were for the decommits?
Peace Out?😂
@@LockedOnUSC exactly my thoughts 🤣
It does not matter where someone lives only that they want USC. I'm not one for excuses. Either you did it or you didn't . I agree star rankings matter for those selling star rankings . It's always about money. I was in the gym listening to a father talk about his son ( a 3 star) . He talked about what his son was doing to get to a 4 star. It was not playing football at his high school.
