So there’s EOD in the other branches. What makes each branches’ EOD different? Is the Navy the only one that does underwater stuff? Is the Air Force more concentrated on Aircraft? etc. etc.
Yeah Navy EOD is definitely the only one that does underwater explosive work, they jump freefall (Halo) and static line, they also Helo-Cast, most well rounded EOD of them all.
Harlem Jay That’s kind of what I’m thinking after doing some research of the other branches EOD for the past couple weeks. I’m kind of wondering which branch is more proficient on the technical side, because I get the feeling the Navy are more “operators” than technicians.
Ivan If you want the technical side without the jumping, diving and extra tactical training. Your best bet would be Air Force EOD. But remember, they train at the Navy EOD school and learn from them so it goes to show how good the Navy is when it comes to the field. Air Force EOD is very focused on the ordnance disposal aspect, they are not special operations. Check them out.
@@IvanOfficial01 No problem, and I'm Just a prior Army guy that decided to switch over to do something different. Have a friend who is a current Navy EOD tech so I know what I know because of him. I will be taking my PST to get my contract in a couple weeks though.
Do you enlist as this or is this something you get into once you’re already in the Navy? And is it a pipeline where if you fail you end up wherever the Navy needs you?
Hi there, thank you for reaching out! You'll be able to enlist as an EOD. No college degree is required to apply for a position as an EOD Technician. However, a high degree of difficulty should be expected. Training is tough and ongoing. You can apply for the Navy Warrior Challenge contract for EOD Technicians at any time during your first enlistment. You can learn more here: bit.ly/3bFkVDY
From what I know you contract with the navy to be and eod tech if you fail you’ll become a navy diver because that training is required as an eod if you don’t make it through dive school good luck buddy because now you’re the navy’s and they’ve got a new job for you that you get 0 say in
@@natethagod2426 Bro, this is a Navy video about Navy EOD. Not talking Army. In the Army, EOD may be an "SOF enabler". In fact, EOD is also not special forces in the Corps or the Air Force. Unlike the other services, underwater diving and jump school are requirements for EOD in the Navy plus other special ops qualifications, elevating the position to special forces.
why arnt they using oil pipe line perforateores - pre made mini shape charges, on the arty shells and mortars? has to be cheaper then 1kg of c4 and det line.
A bad day as a eot tech is when you have to do you're job cause that means you have to go into a dangeous area where there is either a dud bomb that can go off or a Primed bomb that can go off any second
EOD is a pretty thankless job that is shadowed by the SEALs. Respect all the way around!
About time y'all started posting videos about EOD. I couldn't find anything about this rate
I agree

One of the most exciting jobs today that needs a lot more respect
Yes exactly. Plus if the bomb explodes and the armor protects the person they will lose both their hands, that sucks.
@@DampSeagull9166 i heard people say it’s not made to protect
@@obriantomlinson2776 It’s made to protect you from bullets and shrapnel, not a whole IED.

Proud mom of EOD son currently on deployment. Total respect! Def Badass!!
Fact: If you make a mistake while disarming a deadly explosive device, you'll never know it.
There’s something comforting to know if you stuff it up you’ll never feel it.

And Muenster Johnson knows that fact , because, He was an EOD Technician , and, was killed disarming Ordnance......🇺🇲🇺🇸🪖💣💥🤬🖕

Is the eod only through enlisted or can it be through officer too.

Do All Navy EOD Techs Have To Go To Dive School Or Is That A specific Few?
All Navy EOD techs go through dive school in Panama City
