civil war has been expanded to central plains since 2021 coup and the conflict between the regime and the rebel forces is getting larger and messier. Note there are not single unified front of resistance against the junta: MNDAA(kokang chinese) are part of Northern Alliance whose aim is confederacy from the existing Myanmar and more or less act like China's proxies. Newly formed ethnic and local groups like KNDF from Karenni and other PDFs forces from various regions of Myanmar aim to achieve federal republic while they themselve are not in the formal alliance. And, there are decades old actors like KNU and KIA whereas people are largely from minority Chiritians but sitll have strong affinity to federal democracy. The groups are varied and messy but all of them agreed to get rid of Junta's opperssion from their region. This is the general overview and not the complete picture.

Myanmar have Chinese ethnic minority. Same goes to many other countries in the world, including the US, where Chinese is an ethnic minority there.
Singapore's population is 75% Chinese, Malaysia have 22% Chinese population and is also the second largest Chinese populated nation in the world after Thailand, around 7.5 million Chinese currently living in Malaysia.
Chinese is a general term for varying regions Hans from China who live in other countries. Chinese is a nationality. That's why when you meet a Chinese from Malaysia or Singapore, they will call themselves Singaporeans or Malaysians. They only call themselves Chinese when talking with individuals of the same nationality, but they will say their region of origin (Hokkien, Teochew, Hainan, Cantonese, Hakka, etc.) if they are talking with another local Chinese individual.
There are existence of different Chinese subgroups depending on the country. Like in Malaysia, you have the Peranakans, who are part Chinese and Malay. Or Chitty, part Chinese part Indian. Chinese people exists in other countries as Ethnic Minority, just like how other country will see other ethnic groups in their own territories. Because of their differences in regions, their language differs as well, which in the past, they are unable to mix together, hence in Malaysia's past, Han Chinese from different regions have different status and specialises in different jobs.
