Message to parents: If you want your child to grow up to be a good person, you must teach them consequences for wrongdoing when they are still young. Don't cover for their crimes, don't get upset with the teachers, when teachers try to discipline your child or expect more work done from them... If parents truly love their children, they will allow their children to face consequences. It's the only way children will learn and grow up to be good... Parents that think they need to protect them and hide them from consequences because they love them, are hurting them in the long run.
PS: Great short film, I loved it. The letter really moved me. This whole project was very well done. Bravo!

As a father of six who has never laid a scolding hand on any of them, please take this advice. Above all, you teach by EXAMPLE, not by use of ANY physical violence or threat of same. Just because your parents used these on you and think it did you no harm, does not make it so, because it most certainly did. Children need courage and confidence with which to face the challenges of this world, they gain neither of these by experiencing fear or intimidation especially from the very people that they should instinctively trust to act in their best interests.
The greatest mistake parents make is being dangerously selfish psychopaths themselves while expecting their own children to become anything better. The good news is that sometimes they do, the bad news is that they very often don't. The very bad news is that some of them end up on death row after being caught murdering others. While the even worse news is that some of them never get caught as they ended up becoming politicians or some other kind of murderously corrupt gangster.
You not only get the government, political class, legal system, and the job you deserve, you also get the children you deserve and so the future you deserve.
God save the USA and the World. For let us face it, if it was left solely up to the inhabitants, absolutely none of us would have made it thus far.
One other point. What do you lot think God thinks about a country that murders around 1 million of its own children every year before they get a chance to breathe their first breath? Life is either sacred or it is not. The Natural Laws of God don't play intellectual mind games or politically correct semantics.

I never hurt anybody or stole anything in my life, studied in school. Go to work everyday and try to better myself. You have to be a parent to your children, not try to be their best friend.

I can only imagine the thoughts on the inmate knowing that in a few hours he/she will not belong to this earth again. It must be terryfying.
Now picture that, but you never committed the crime that put you there.
That is the reality for 5% or all Death Row inmates, and that is why I am against the death penalty myself.
Imagine how terrified the person he killed was. A man was put to death in America because he brutally raped a 3-year-old child. when he was finished the child said I want my daddy and he killed that child , he strangled her. The daddy of the child was tortured all his days because he couldn't protect her from that evil man. And if they put an innocent person to death, that's on the DA and the courts.
@@MWilmott This problem can be solved by restricting the use of the death penalty to the rarest of cases involving demonic crimes where there is certainty of guilty. For example, Mohamed Atta was certainly guilty of killing thousands by flying American Airlines Flight 11 into the North Tower of the WTC on 9/11. The 2012 Delhi gang rapists were certainly guilty of raping and mutilating Jyoti Singh on a bus in New Delhi.
I fully support the death penalty. Evil doesn’t deserve to walk this planet. They need to kill these people the exact same way they killed their victims. Eye for an eye. All the naysayers would change their tune if they witnessed these murderers in action.

It's not always more humane to kill a person by a lethal injection because it can fail. And if it does the prisoner will experience an insane amount of pain. A pain that is not possible to describe. And i believe death penalty is wrong. Normal people is not allowed to walk around and kill people but an executioner can kill someone and get away with it? I feel thats kinda fucked up. Better to let them die from a normal reason inside the prison i think that is cruel enough to do. its really painful to be locked in. I have only been locked in for 6 hours but that was more than enough. I can't imagine what it would be like to be locked in until i die. I feel that is alot better punishment and no one has to kill anyone for it

I can appreciate the moral. However, not to nitpick, but I think it's important to point out that in the U.S., the death penalty is carried out with 3 drugs. One to render the inmate unconscious, one to paralyze the muscles, and the third to stop the heart. Also, they don't use a doctor to administer the drugs, as this goes against the Hippocratic to not cause harm. Sometimes, most of the time it is a machine that automatically administers the drugs. Sometimes they have say 3 buttons and 3 people start the machine, ,but only one does anything. This is so no one knows who really started the process, and helps the people involved not feel so guilty. I won't get involved in my own feelings on the death penalty. Let's just say it's....odd that a country like the U.S. has a death penalty.

There was a very strange feature in this case, strange because of its extremely rare occurrence. This man had once been brought to the scaffold in company with several others, and had had the sentence of death by shooting passed upon him for some political crime. Twenty minutes later he had been reprieved and some other punishment substituted; but the interval between the two sentences, twenty minutes, or at least a quarter of an hour, had been passed in the certainty that within a few minutes he must die. I was very anxious to hear him speak of his impressions during that dreadful time, and I several times inquired of him as to what he thought and felt. He remembered everything with the most accurate and extraordinary distinctness, and declared that he would never forget a single iota of the experience. ‘About twenty paces from the scaffold, where he had stood to hear the sentence, were three posts, fixed in the ground, to which to fasten the criminals (of whom there were several). The first three criminals were taken to the posts, dressed in long white tunics, with white caps drawn over their faces, so that they could not see the rifles pointed at them. Then a group of soldiers took their stand opposite to each post. My friend was the eighth on the list, and therefore he would have been among the third lot to go up. A priest went about among them with a cross: and there was about five minutes of time left for him to live. ‘He said that those five minutes seemed to him to be a most interminable period, an enormous wealth of time; he seemed to be living, in these minutes, so many lives that there was no need as yet to think of that last moment, so that he made several arrangements, dividing up the time into portions-one for saying farewell to his companions, two minutes for that; then a couple more for thinking over his own life and career and all about himself; and another minute for a last look around. He remembered having divided his time like this quite well. While saying good- bye to his friends he recollected asking one of them some very usual everyday question, and being much interested in the answer. Then having bade farewell, he embarked upon those two minutes which he had allotted to looking into himself; he knew beforehand what he was going to think about. He wished to put it to himself as quickly and clearly as possible, that here was he, a living, thinking man, and that in three minutes he would be nobody; or if somebody or something, then what and where? He thought he would decide this question once
for all in these last three minutes. A little way off there stood a church, and its gilded spire glittered in the sun. He remembered staring stubbornly at this spire, and at the rays of light sparkling from it. He could not tear his eyes from these rays of light; he got the idea that these rays were his new nature, and that in three minutes he would become one of them, amalgamated somehow with them. ‘The repugnance to what must ensue almost immediately, and the uncertainty, were dreadful, he said; but worst of all was the idea, ‘What should I do if I were not to die now? What if I were to return to life again? What an eternity of days, and all mine! How I should grudge and count up every minute of it, so as to waste not a single instant!’ He said that this thought weighed so upon him and became such a terrible burden upon his brain that he could not bear it, and wished they would shoot him quickly and have done with it.’⁸

This video may look upsetting only because of his letter to his mum, but this man made the choice to do the crime and he can’t blame anyone else for his actions apart from him self. Nothing justifies the death penalty imo. It doesn’t matter what the person did. Killing a person makes you a murderer no matter why you did it. It doesn’t make you any better than the person who has been sentenced to death. I’m glad to live in a country where the death penalty has been banned (Germany). It’s just horrifying.
There is no humanity left on this earth. It has become worst than hell. Every country has the same problem. Death panelty should be abolished in every country. This is totally inhumane. No person whoever it may be has the right to take the life of another person. Good to know that it is banned in your country.

Would some of you say where you're from? I'm American, and I was astonished at how civil these comments are. If it was mostly Americans talking, the comments would be vicious, slamming not only each other's opinions but their intelligence and their faith or spiritual path. They would tell each other that they're terrible people, even that they're not human at all.

A mother's love never stops, no matter how badly her child turns out. There are times, in spite of all the right things parents do, kids just go wrong on their own. I'm sure it breaks their parent's hearts when that happens. And then, there are parents who do NOT guide their kids, but kind of let them raise themselves, because they are "too busy." And that can turn out very bad in the end also. But no one can place the blame when they were not there to see it so you never really know what may have happened to turn the tide into disaster. I can't even imagine the heart-break of a mother whose child is sentenced to be executed. I rather imagine that some have parted ways before the event, so that they are not hurt quite so badly, but I'm sure it still hurts them to know.

@@jamespalmer4945 Most countries are phasing out capital punishment if only because it's not proven to be a deterrent and it's much more expensive housing capital cases. Then there is the often unpopular - in the US - reason that it's inhumane. (I'm fully aware what the criminals did, btw.) I just read a lot about capital punishment. #weallneedhobbies

Guess quarantine got me here. I'm not a mom but damn the feelings to watch your son die are heartbreaking. Something you have to live with for the rest of your life. As a mom that probably full of regrets knowing that her parenting was not perfect got her son to lose his life for the crimes, he has committed. Parents out there show love to their kids and educate them no matter what you can do to help and support them. Even when time is hard still show your kid or kids that you are doing everything to help. The Death Penalty is harsh, yes but it's a lesson for human beings. Taking lives just to satisfy your needs instead of working hard for what you can accomplish will bring happiness in the end instead of heartbreaks.

Why act like a person being executed is a victim? If they killed someone, that person probably wanted to live. They took their life from them. They were the victim. A convicted killer is not a victim. He is a killer, and if he isn't stopped, he most likely will kill again. You can't just allow people to kill whomever they please. I wanted to go very far from my family and relatives and always tried to live without any contact from my childhood.
