Bike ride to recce a canoe trip

My attempt to find a canoe/kayak route that will connect the canal network to the River Severn near Shrewsbury. One that doesn’t require a detour all the way to Stourport. The two most likely routes involved the Montgomery Canal and either the River Perry or the River Morda. Both pretty small watercourses.
It seemed sensible to cycle out for a recce rather than just paddle and hope!
It looks like the River Perry might be the best bet.
Also an excuse to get off the tarmac around Nesscliffe, The Cliffe and Shrawardine, as well as the canal towpaths of course.
