As a kid my father and uncle worked in construction, leveling land for homes to be built on, and one day he took us on a field trip to Pacific Palisades, where he and my uncle were working. There were fossils everywhere in the rock. They looked just like this! We brought home several pieces but my uncle gave them to a friend, it made me sick because he said he wanted them for his fireplace, then he sold them!
I don't know how I missed this, but I love it! I'm not the biggest WY fan but I want to go back just for this, agates, and dino fossils. Joe's cool...he's a good sidekick!
What a cool wrap-up of the fossil dig! You and Joe did yourselves proud with the haul. I reckon you are branching out on your fossil-finding ventures quite nicely; Diving the rivers, driving those backroads, and now, digging in on a fossil site, there can't be too many more exciting ways to find cool fossil stuff, BUT having said that, I now expect you to say "Hold my beer, challenge accepted!" I LOVE the turtle & the palm leaf... If I wasn't living hand to mouth, on a monthly pension, I'd make an offer. As Joe said, everything has a price. Stay well and I'll see you in the next video. Cheers!
I'm glad everything is for sale. So with that in mind. How much to share your insights on preparing fossils?? I have several that need brought into the world again, and I'm afraid of messing them up.
It’s the Geico caveman not Che Guevara, so don’t get mad about Joe’s shirt. If you want to dig here too check out the following website, tell them we sent you: www.fossilsafari.com/
This is amazing. Here on the jurassic coast, UK we have some amazing hotshots, some of which we have visited in my videos but this place is absolutely amazing
That stingray is insane. What a bucket lister to be out there finding that stuff. What book is that? Would love to get it. I could watch this all day, thanks for sharing these highlights.
Finding fossils is so much fun. You guys are doing great work, that sting Ray is so wonderful,I wish it wasn’t cracked. I have some slabs of limestone that came from my father-in-laws farm land out in the flat plains of Kansas that have just tons of fossilized shells in it. You are on a treasure hunt for sure.
That would make a great Table top . Gave me a grate idea . Everything is for sale . Good I will look you up when I am ready to put in the countertops .
There was I expecting to see fossils and instead I got fish n chips , geddit?🤭. But seriously folks how great is this ? Thanks for one of the best things I've ever seen on YT.
Awesome ⛏️👍🏻 You find some gorgeous fossils 😃🙂 I have a replica of a 47 million year old turtle of the famous and scientifically important spot "Messel pit" here in Germany 🇩🇪✌🏼 And you found a real fossil turtle in Wyoming... That's crazy! 💪🏼💪🏼 I love watching your adventures 😉
That Phareodus is fantastic! Would love to see you go hunting with Paleocris and Wildkyle, it'd be kinda like the fossil channel equivalent of Woodstock 😆
Awesome stuff guys, love the camaraderie between the two of you. Hope to see you at an in person club meeting one of these days... next season hopefully.
@@DiggingScience been keeping those live streams going at least, hope you’ve been able to watch some of those... that reminds me I still need to upload the last one. Oops! New puppy really takes up a lot of time haha
Это нереально красиво. Супер. Жаль что у нас таких карьеров нет. А ещё жаль что у нас мало таких людей. В основном англоязычные каналы можно посмотреть о палеонтологии.
Hey! I had a question, I was looking online and this quarry says that you can only keep fish, nothing crazy like stingrays or turtles. Just wondering how you guys were able to keep the rare fossils you found? And how would I be able to do the same? Thanks a ton, awesome video!
Have ya'll ever been to the fossil quarry at Ft. Drum, Florida? I have seen some gorgeous specimens and crystallized mollusks a friend from years ago used to find there. And I gotta wonder if this splitting technique could account for some of the monolithic quarried stones found in many of our ancestors constructions in our distant history?
That butterfly was remarkably well preserved!
You guys make me really want to go fossil hunting! Always entertaining to watch!
Do it! And thank you!
Some of the best samples I have ever seen .. damn so good.
When he talks about the fossils, it's science but when he holds up the pieces.... that's art!
Amazing looking fish. Thank you for sharing. 👍
In 1958 my father had a kidney shaped pool built in our backyard with the entire top tile border made of fossil shale. Great to see them again.
Dang
I live in Ohio, and would absolutely love to visit this place.
LET'S GO ANOTHER GREENRIVER VIDEO! Makes me long for the summer... cannot wait.
bro... why is your profile picture wendigo noises?
Joe is awesome lol love his personality. You guys seem awesome!

52 million years ago is mind boggling. I love stuff. This spot is on my bucket list. Thanks for the great video!
The fossils are real, their age is questionable
You have just become my favourite TH-cam site. 🙌👍
We are humbled you think so and strive to meet those expectations! Thank you for watching, we cannot wait to share more!
I’d love a video showing how Joe preps out these fossils!
Same! I do work with these types of fossils, and I love seeing other people working on them as well!

@@_jurassic_9890 head to Warfield Quarry so you can dig the wall and stay for the whole day!
but Fossil Safari doesnt let anybody else take home things like turtles, rays, giant fish, etc. They only let you take home the common stuff.

Some really good finds there guys. Joe slaying it as always.
Man, those are some great finds. Nice video!
Very kewl! I know there is more work involved than what you're showing,, but it still looks like fun!

Wow, the fossils at the end looked really good! I really liked the big fish that had been broken.
That palm is really nice. I’ve been dying to find a plant fossil down here in Florida
I don't know about the millions of years, but those are some cool fossils.
Great workmanship guys ... Joe's had to read, between serious and angerary ... I think it's just dry humor 😂 LOL. Thanks for the share.
I love these videos! More please!
Those are fabulous, and you guys have lots of passion for the science, especially taxonomy
and paleontology. Also, ictheology, and slab-cracking-ology

I made a nice flagstone walkway and I was splitting a big piece that revealed a beautiful Ammonite and I made it the main piece in the middle
The jingling sound of shale breaking apart is also oddly pleasant
Wow wow WOW!!!! This is an awesome amazing adventure!!

I had no idea I had a fossil quarry !
How do you take those large slabs with you? Do you cut them down into a smaller size? If so, what tool do you use?
Such beautiful finds!
What’s the proper way to clean/prep a big fish like that? Would you apply Paraloid b72 as you clean?
Very, very interesting. Thanks.
