- In this video, we'll take you on a tour of the best fossil fish area in the world! The Green River area for fossil fish in Wyoming at the American fossil quarry is home to some of the most spectacular and rare fossil fish on the planet!
This area is a must-see for anyone interested in fish fossils and more, because lots of other types of fossils can be found here. Not only will you get to see some of the most beautiful and rare fossil fish on Earth, but you'll also learn about the history of this amazing location! Watch this video and see for yourself why this area is the best place to collect fossils!
So it's the identical technique I use to spit a frozen stack of corn tortillas. I'm a pro already lol.
Frozen burgers too 😂
That counts!
😂😂😂 true!!!
Now that is my kind of fishing!
You gotta love the crystal collector
Whaaaat!! nice split my friend
What a fantastic location!! Sending jealous vibes from the UK
I really enjoyed this video. I had no idea places like this exist (fossil quarries). Thank you!
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Been many years since I went our and searched for fish fossils. You looked like you had a blast and "netted" several great finds. Even a poor quality or partial fossil would thrill some fledgling pebble pup!!! I think all of us rockhounds should make "pebble pup cups" or small collections for little kids interested in rocks. When a new baby is born into our family ... I make them a rock collection and write out a little story about rockhounding in our family ... for when they are old enough to get into rocks.
Wish you could still get out there. Being dusty and rusty may be not as much fun but living thru Brian can help. He sure helps me and I’m 40 but am super depressed so I Don’t get out much either. Just wanted someone on here to know your comment was read and appreciated.
@fit_pharmd4830 Thank you so much. Bryan's videos helped pull me from the lowest energy I've ever felt. I have a rare blistering autoimmune disease. 8 years of prednisone and experimental meds...etc. These videos have helped reawaken memories of good times, revisit old haunts, and allow me to experience it again. I am so greatfull for his channel. Thank you again for acknowledging me and I likewise want to celebrate you, your kindness and send you best wishes for you journey. 😊
@@fit_pharmd4830please don't let depression ruin your life. It will if you allow it. There's beauty and love everywhere. This universe wouldn't exist without you. Seriously
@@kellyharper367I pray they can help you as I have EDS and it's effected every aspect of my life. Stay strong and know you are loved
@marywright4934 Bless you, Mary. Peace and strength to you, too.
Saw you had a new video, had to immediately watch it. What amazing finds!🐟
the detail in those is crazy!
My friend Jeff was just here and he says next year I’m coming with him even if he has to drag me 😂 I’m ready! He was telling me some stories… you can find some amazing fossils here!
We have been there and highly recommend! Awesome, friendly people!
Just beautiful, they are each a work of art.
Great fishing 😁👍
Very accommodating setup. Awesome finds.
I took my family to American Quarry last summer and we had such an amazing time, if you're a rock nerd it's like a candy store, and full of near-instant gratification
Fossils prove that living things did not evolve. Darwinism is a lie.
I was hoping you could have found a dragon fly. The visitor center has some very cool finds. Just a stones throw away is the blue forest wood check that out to
Amazing finding. Thanks for sharing
I was on a job out there in the wintertime, so that quarry was closed; but I had a nice long chat with one of the owners, who owned a rock shop in town. She gave me a tour of the workshop in back where her technician was working on cleaning a much larger find, a beautiful freshwater ray, as I recall.
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
My parents took us "fossil hunting" when we would go camping every year up near Gilbert Lake in NY back in the 70s. We brought back so many slate pieces with amazing fossils!!!
Good fishing spot
It's like you know we are going there soon and beat us to it haha
Those are some really nice fossils!
I've always loved and collected rocks since childhood. Your videos enrich my knowledge and inspires me to keep looking and sharing

That place looks awesome. Love that they provide it all, even the use of tile saw. Smart.

would love to fly out but I'm stuck in PA for the time being.
I could easily get into this but I would also love to get down and dirty and clean the fossils up to make sure they are cleaned and look the best possible!
really awesome man, im a little jelly haha. just a tip, those table saw tables slide forward so you can keep the piece flat against the table. much safer that way, i know that stone is super soft, but it can still rip out of your hands when you hold it and saw like that.
Great voice, nice dude, cool video keep it up bro!
Thank You for sharing your adventures. MANY BLESSINGS BE UPON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, ESPECIALLY MATRIX-Whaaat
One day I'd love to do that with my son 🙏♥️ Love All of your finds Bryan! Give little adorable Matrix my love! 🙏♥️

That's amazing finding all those fishes in the slabs. I think the best fish was the one on the back of the slab someone left behind. It looked good like it was turning. Thank you Bryan. That's awesome

Fish
Your smile is contagious
I am 100% here for this!
Looks like fun
Around what time of year did you go? Curious about the heat.
Great place to go fishing that fish that person left was the best they look like Sardine fossils
By crackie that was pretty fun! Being a Pisces I really liked this adventure Bryan 👌💥
Makes you wonder about the event that caused all the fish to die, without being eaten, and be covered in layers of silt rather quickly.
Massive volcanic eruption?
Agreed, something seems to have killed everything in that body of water. I would think volcanic ash
Excellent!
Ahhhhh, awesome! Lol! I want to go!!!! Ahhhhhhh, whhhat, I love it! That's about the only fishing I can do is with a rockhammer,.... but I do like water too...
Luved meeting u
Been here...love this quarry!
I’m thinking about going there with my family. Would you recommend it?
You bet. There were a couple of sets of 3 generation families. Those with younger kids stayed a couple of hours and still went home with fish.
Great! Thanks!
I second the Yes. And the public dig area for Blue Forest Petrified Wood is nearby.
Hey brother .. I'm from Wyoming a little town called Graybull ... I now live in Oregon though.. and we have a really cool spot here called the John Day Fossil Beds and there's a little place called Fossil Oregon and you can dig for fossils in the cliff behind the high school at Fossil Oregon and guaranteed to find stuff it's pretty fun my wife and I go often... when I retire my wife and I plan to come home back to our wonderful Wyoming ... I really can't wait and it probably won't be much longer .. God bless y'all..
My son and I did that and it’s a good time, you’ll definitely find a lot of fossils, mainly fish!
👌 awesome
Wow so rad👍🏻
good find fossil fish❤
Early boys
Very cool
This was fun Bryan. Always a surprise! You must have been sore after sitting in the rocks for a few hours. I think for me, doing the splits would kind of be relaxing (if I was sitting on a cushion). 🙂⛏️🪨
I was there last fall - coolest place ever…
Just think, one day we will all be there too.
Hope Matrix can narrate the entire video and tech us what he know about Crystals being with Brian on the road traveling from coast to coast.
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Matrix is my favorite rock"hound" .
I was stationed at Vandenberg AFB, CA, in the 90s. I use to take my kids out fossil hunting of the same materials seen here. We found many a fish using screwdriver and small hammers. The spot was on the base on some flat area overlooking the ocean.
Been next on my bucket list but not sure if Jeep will make a 40 hr round trip 😅. Maybe next year. Have a good one ✌
Don't forget to stop at one of the public places where tourists can dig Blue Forest Petrified Wood while you're in the area.
Cool video, would love if that were a day trip driveable distance from me.
Oh damn!. . those are some fine samples. I am looking for a small sample and we dont get anything in India.
This is something I could do
MATRIX-Whaaaaat. Since we’re Disabled and really can’t trek those terrains, Do they have a store that sells?
you can literally just walk across the ravine and find these for free
I seen a vendor at the crowne plaza selling a split but the fish were identically the same orientation, it wasn’t a mirror. It probably was a fake right?
❤
Wow nice nice nice Brian those are beautiful pieces of fossils. Oh my goodness beautiful beautiful sorry I haven’t been on much to say hello but a while back I had a stroke and I’m having injections in my eye to keep from having a lot of pain in it and it’s not fun. So I’m just kinda taking care of myself a little bit not done much. Oh, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings for adventures❤❤❤
This guy reminds me so much of Link from Good Mythical Morning
Aqui jaguriaiva parana Brasil tem também kkkk
That might be over $100,000.00 -
That 3 fish
Very enjoyable episode, but sadly no dog footage.
Yes, they didn’t allow dogs on the site, so matrix had to stay in the camper 😢
Soooooooo coooooool!!!!!😮😮😮😮 Stupid algorithm, I've missed your videos!!!!! Don't forget your hat and sunscreen lotion next time!!!! Where's cute little Matrix? 🐶
These fine sediments seem to be the same as in Solnhofen Bavaria in Germany
How can I buy some of your finds ? Trying to find my granddaughter about everything you find . She's only 6 years old but collects rocks .
Hi, yes, just Google search ultra rocks eBay
Suggestion: Cut them with a larger border, to protect the fossil over time and for the more attractive aesthetic appeal. 🐠
Bryan, some of those would look cool if you put a piece with a fish or two into a deep rustic wood frame. A pretty easy DIY project using free, weathered pallet wood. Even better would be some thicker barn wood that has turned grey. It would stand out brightly against the dark walls of your living room. (At least I think it is your LR that is painted dark blue)?
Cool fossils. Something I want to hunt for someday. I think there is a quarry like that in CO. When I lived in Lakewood, CO., I heard someone talking about it. That was almost 45 yrs ago, so I'm not sure if it is still producing.

Lors de la pose d'un pavement avec cette pierre, j'ai effectivement trouvé un fossile de poisson, genre piranha
I think i went there in September and there was nobody there so i drove back salt lake city utah
You look identical to aragorn from lord of the rings
If its slow burry of fish it will be disintegrated, but fast bury keeps even their twisting movement. Noah flood and sedmentation at work.
Hello, present, my uncle is steady
Where is that?
Wyoming
All figured out except when they were fossilised 😊
Saya juga punya Fossil ikan
Pls! Protect yr eyes and hands.😘😘😘...
So if it's worth $100,000 you just make them richer.

I'm no Bob Villa, I'm just pretty sure the table slides in...

Used to be a good place to fig in eastern Montana on some private land but some of the pieces of crap kept leaving their trash and so the owner kicked everybody out. The human race sux. Those are some cool fossils. Its weird how most of the fish sre on the edges of the stone.
Imagine how many fossils have been destroyed over the centuries...
You're in my neck of the sagebrush
you dont have to go to this quarry.... all around cokeville all the way up to big piney.... this is like a petting zoo... its for the kids.... mostly small fish but you can also find plants crustations snakes and even turtles... you are not going to find dinosaurs in this layer...... theres a opalized forest near there too - i found a Cervalces scotti (prehistoric moose) in a deep wash while i antler huntin up there... stuff like that belongs to the state and will go to a museum
Why don’t you wear protective eye goggles ?
There is something a little fishy in the rocks😅
Bryan if I were your very best friend no matter what......i would tell you Bryan there only a few 1000 years old brother sincerely
এগুলি কত বছরের পুরনো?
the fish were dead when they piled up there during noahs flood
Boil the rock and make stone fish soup
just kidding !
Have you found any aquatic plants ?
Didn’t find any plants but that would be so cool!
No clams..No scallops ..No oysters ?? Seems alittle fishy to me...
Lol a whole lot of poop hahahha😂
😂 yes 💩
@@TheCrystalCollector sorry I thought it was halarious you kept saying more poop hahahha here’s some poop 😂💙🍻💪🔥🌮
Sorry but if I find something over 100k I'm taking it home, especially if it's a pay to dig site. I would NEVER find something like that, but if I did 😂😂
