- July is finally here, summer has gone and the General Election is over. Now lets build a theme park! But seriously you have missed nothing over the past couple of weeks. The gates have been firmly locked each time I come past and there is no activity to show but as promised, here is an update video for you all but sadly not even a digger this week :(

I’m so happy for everybody in the UK to be getting a Universal Studios Park. Especially for people that have never been to any of the parks.

I'm not from the UK, but here in Belgium London is just a train away so I'm very excited to have such a big park so close.

You would think if Universal were to build a theme park in Europe then it would be more centrally like Germany with many surrounding countries. Being English i really hope it happens here and can't wait for the construction footage.
I hope they will get permission to build the park. That would save halve the travel time and costs, would make the timezone difference a lot smaller (just 1 hour instead of 6), and would save a lot of pollution by being able to travel a much shorter distance by car or train instead of needing to travel long distance by plane.
It's like a 5 min walk for me so works out well 🤣

Knowing big companies and governments, they usually say the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet. They usually do this behind closed doors without the consent of the people. Universal Studios United Kingdom is already a done deal because they know what the people in this country want.
I agree, I think there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than we know.

Not really. There’s a lot of planning and permissions that are required before any real work starts
Not at all. Once planning is granted it's unlikely that we'll see anything major until next year at the earliest other than planned work on Wixams station and the bridge over the Bedford to Bletchley railway.

What should be happening? Surveys on the ground and other advance work will be needed. There were vans parked there the other day with people walking around. Definitely don’t expect construction any time soon. And god forbid they find any type of rare insect or bird or water life. Work will stop completely for years probably.
