We fly to Hurghada twice a year from Bristol. For some reason you always get the obligatory nuisance on the flight. I so admire the cabin crew in terms of what they put up with, I couldn't be quite so tolerant.

    • @thegadaboutdad1057
      @thegadaboutdad1057  ปีที่แล้ว +3

It was the racism that was the real problem. There was an Asian chap with his daughter just to the right of us who was getting quite worked up over it. He eventually went and complained to the crew who then denied them further alcohol.

You never told us how you liked Hurghada? My beloved late mother worked for the national bank of Cairo back in the 1950’s to the 1960’s and used to vacation in Hurghada and she told me it is a very beautiful seaside resort. I have never been there myself but would like to visit Egypt now that I am retired.

I’ve vlogged lots of the trip, so my time in Hurghada will be TH-cam soon.
My parents also lived in Cairo for a couple of years in the 90s.
You should really visit Egypt. For me, a Nile cruise is a must.

I went too Lanzarote last month and the guy behind was playing music on his phone for well over 2 hours , why he didnt use earphones is beyond me .
He wasnt young either , in his fifties .So many rude and entitled people around .
Kids screaming i can sort of put up with , its hard keeping a child happy on a plane , but ignorance is unforgivable.

I was on a flight when the pandemic protocols were in place, one man wouldn't wear his mask, then ate nuts despite being asked not to, due to someone with a nut allergy. He then played music without headphones, and reclined his seat so violently he knocked a drink off the tray of the person behind, and not one word of apology. The flight crew said and did nothing. It was awful.

No , just because you are a kid do not mean you can scream. Either learn the kid to behave or wait until they are older. Tired of kids getting away with stuff just because they are kid. If they are not mature enough to be sitting hours on a plane then wait until they are older when they can. Not counting landing and take off as then it can be that their ears hurts and had that issue myself as a kid.

My comment may be unpopular but…….Manchester airport has the most disruptive passenger incidents in the UK every year! Certain destinations worse than others but it seems to attract the worse kind of people. Unfortunately too many people spoil the experience for others these days and would be in favour of booze ban in airport and onboard and also there being a breathalyser at the gate! You may disagree but trust me it’s a much bigger problem than you think. So many police incidents and diverts it’s getting silly……and yes 9 out of 10 times it’s always Manchester flights.

My recent experience at Hurghada Airport was nothing short of disgraceful. The behavior of the airport staff was shameless, rude, and racist, leaving me deeply disappointed and infuriated. It is disheartening to witness such underqualified, dim-witted, and corrupt individuals in positions of authority.
As Kurds who couldn't speak Arabic fluently because living in Sweden since age of 6, we became the target of the old individual who checked our passports. It seemed like he was envious or harbored some ill feelings towards us. He went out of his way to ensure that we missed our flight, deliberately mispronouncing our names and searching for any excuse to argue with us about trivial matters. He bombarded us with intrusive questions about our father's name, birthplace, and our inability to speak Arabic.
After some time, he conveniently pretended to be ignorant of the English language and began interrogating us in Arabic. It was only when someone behind us stepped forward to assist with translation that he shifted his focus to Saddam Hussein, praising him as a great man-ironically, the same man responsible for a genocide against our people.
When we confronted him about his behavior, he responded by hurling curses at us in his language. The flight was thankfully delayed or else we would've been stranded thanks to this racist man. Our initial intention had been to help the kind and needy individuals we encountered during our stay, but after enduring such treatment, I can confidently say that I will never set foot in Egypt again.
I sincerely hope that the airport authorities take this review seriously and address the abysmal state of affairs. The treatment we received is an embarrassment to the friendly and helpful people we encountered in the city, who truly made our stay amazing. Hurghada Airport must reconsider the hiring and training of its staff if it wishes to maintain any semblance of credibility and hospitality.

    • @thegadaboutdad1057
      @thegadaboutdad1057  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That is truly shocking. It may be worth trying to make an official complaint.
Having said that, I believe it may fall on deaf ears but if enough people complain they will eventually have to listen.

Yes, we need to raise awareness among others and encourage them to take action.
A collective effort, such as boycotting the airport for a period of time, could exert pressure and break this terrible cycle.
It seems like the only way to bring about change and hold the airport accountable for their actions.
It's truly disheartening that people can have such a wonderful experience during their stay, only to encounter such disappointment right before heading back home.

They would turn up at the pool mid-day and if you had left your sun loungers they would just take them, even laying on your own towels. The pool guys were good at removing them, but it happened every day where at least one of us would stay on the beds whilst the others would go swimming, but even with people on the sun loungers, they would still sit at the end of them and even put all there stuff in them. It shocked me too. The holiday was expensive, so initially assumed we’d get a meal and in-flight entertainment. My own fault for not checking before I buy.
Neither crying children (which I know isn’t always avoidable) and drunk/unruly passengers make for great traveling partners. 😞

I've just returned from Doha to Birmingham with Qatar Airlines. The flight was full and I would guess at least 95% ethnic. After we landed, I've never seen an aircraft left in such abject shit order in all of my days. We were seated right at the back but had to walk right to the front to exit. I don't know how the staff put up with it. Flying is a privilege or so I thought. It's no wonder there is so much unrest in the world with this level of ignorance and self entitlement.

I was on a packed 787 dreamliner in June. Heathrow to Vancouver. 90% Caucasians and the plane at the end of the flight looked like it had been burgled.

Flew from Manchester earlier in the year, after we couldn’t get a flight from Glasgow, our local airport.
After this single experience, I will never fly from Manchester again.
The buildings are just that, bricks, concrete and mortar, like any other airport, so no problem there.
The staff, specifically in security, that was a complete eye opener, to the difference between my local airport in Glasgow and Manchesters attempt at customer service.
Fist of all, not enough staff on the ground, so security checks took ages, with frustration building in both passengers and staff.
The passengers handled the delays admirably, but the same could not be said for the staff.
I witnessed multiple security staff, harass a woman in her 50s who was pushing her mother of 70-80 years old in a wheelchair and demanding, that the mother stand up from the wheelchair and walk unaided through the body scanner.
When advised that her mother could not walk unaided, the security staff then raised their voices, became belligerent and threatened, the mother and daughter, with potentially not getting on their flight, if she failed to stand up !!!
The staff member cheekily said, “you should have contacted the airport and advised us that your mother had mobility issues” to which the daughter showed proof she had, but the airport failed to provide any support in processing them through security, to which the staff member just ignored her and repeated his demands that she walk through the scanner unaided.
Some of us offered to help hold and support the older lady, but were warned to stay out of it and get back in line !!!
Disgusting, disgraceful behaviour and totally unacceptable and repulsive to any decent person.
I can only speak about my multiple experiences in Glasgow Airport, where on departure and arrival, the warmth, care and support of every member of staff, makes it a joy to travel and I will avoid Manchester airport at all costs.

Usually find your destination followed by airline are the biggest indicator of how pleasent your fellow passengers are. Normally fly BA myself and sometimes easyJet. I never book with package tour operators like Tui because as a solo traveler they take the micky in surcharges and the tightest seating arrangements of all UK airlines. Not saying they are bad, just not for me.

I didn’t show the racist remarks in the video; TH-cam wouldn’t be happy if I did and I really didn’t want to give it airtime.
It all came about because they’d had to much to drink and got louder and louder. Quite a few nationalities came in for criticism. As an example I’ll just say that I’m 100% sure that not all Syrians smear excrement on the walls of hotels!
