    Great video! I have a 2018 Tahoe and pushing the control arm down is a lot more difficult than illustrated.

    It should be noted that you don't actually gain ground clearance until and unless you add larger tires.

    • @ronlaverdiere
      @ronlaverdiere 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That makes no sense. The fender moved up - he didn’t do a body lift from the frame. Where do you think the height came from? Of course it gives more ground clearance - only at the front end though.

    ok, so for everyone wondering what the process for install is for this kit here is what needs to be done. i just completed this install for the exact kit on my 2016 chevy suburban.
    for the front 2.5inch install what was left out of this video was.... DISASSEMBLY: you need to release the upper control arm (ball joint) completely from the knuckle, remove wheel sensor cable brackets, loosen the sway bar link all the way until there are barely no threads left (do not have to remove fully) which gives you just enough clearance to shift everything down to get the lower strut spacer in place. once you have the strut spacers (top and bottom) installed you need to loosen the two upper control arm cam bolts (just enough that it can move more freely) in order to have the play to re seat the upper ball joint in the knuckle. tighten the ball joint, tighten the sway bar link back up and repeat the process on the passenger side. after the vehicle is on the ground under its weight you then need to re-tighten the upper control arm cam bolts. do not re-tighten them while the vehicle is lifted as it will cause a lot of stress on the control arm bushings if you tighten them while in the air then put load on the suspension. and as always take the car to an alignment shop when you're done. the front install took about 1 hour on a lift with mechanical experience. hope this helps anyone out. and yes its the exact process for tahoe/suburbans 2015-2019. the video they posted is about the rear lift is pretty much spot on and took about an hour as well.

    Why didnt you show how exactly you installed everything back together using the 4 spacers and the one that goes underneath the shock??? I ordered mine tried it and was not able to put it back. In the instruction sheet it said I need to remove other things not shown in this video. I've been looking for a video that will show the complete installation but you dont have one. If you do let me know...

      Hi Alex, Please call our 1-888-629-9226 and we would be more than happy to walk you through it step by step. Here is another video.th-cam.com/video/cG0aqja9BHY/w-d-xo.html
      You do need to separate the upper ball joint and as the instructions show pry down on the sway bar to make enough room for the lower strut spacer. If you are struggling to install all 4 spacers please call. John

      @buleyauto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      They don't show it because there's no way you can wedge the strut back in there with the shims and the lower spacer without taking the entire front end apart. Doing it this way makes it look easier and sells more kits.

      if you read my comment at the top i explain how you get everything in then back together, i had the same issue and fought forever on the driverside first. you have to remove the upper control arm from the knuckle them loosen the cam bolts on the upper control arm to have the room to fit all of it

    Would a leveling kit cause a difference of feel when braking? Husband got leveling done on our suburban Ltz, but I feel I have to push harder on the brake when stopping. Also one of the bucket seats is shaking, does leveling change a lot to the vehicle?

    • @suspensionmaxxman
      @suspensionmaxxman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Larger tires and or larger wheels reduce braking distance. Also if not properly balanced the tires and wheels may create a vibration. Also if it is a Suburban LTZ, it is equipped with magnetic ride shocks. Our kit relocated the magnetic ride sensor to keep the factory ride. If you didn't use the proper kit for your magnetic ride vehicle the ride quality will not be the same as stock. It's common for people to change tires, wheels and add a leveling kit all at once. But changing so many items at once creates too many variables.
