I really enjoyed it . I booked three nights in Bridlington to make the most of it. I made a video at another RSPB reserve and did two landscape videos as well. Great to have a pure photography trip and I now have videos made and uploaded until the end of July.
@@DarrellOakdenPhotography That's great to have been able to do that, and to have videos in hand now. Look forward to seeing the other RSPB one, particularly! Thank you for this interesting channel.
Thanks Darrell for sharing your beautiful photos. I especially liked how tack sharp they are. Looking forward to seeing future videos from you. All the best!
Really enjoyed this video, Darrell. Lovely shots too. I'm visiting in a couple of weeks' time so keeping it all crossed there are still some puffins about and I get some good shots too!
Hi Darrell. Some great photos of the Gannets flying. We have been there twice and there were far more Gannets the first time we went. Bempton is always a great place to visit. Thanks Jon and Sandra
Now added as a subscriber. Great vlog Darrell, love Bempton myself. I just might have been one of the other 4 or 5 photographers up on the reserve on your day 1, I arrived at 04:30 for my day there & finished at 6:30pm! A long but very enjoyable day, always plenty to see up there. I saw the Peregrine too, but not perched - it just flashed past a couple of times. I did see the Barn Owl too, a surprise flyover at 2:30 in the afternoon. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Some great images, and amazing that you were using the Z 6ii after all the comments from other you tubers who said the focussing was not up to scratch when compared to other makes of camera.
I definitely prefer my D850. It is far more dependable. However, that wasn't an option. I did get a lot of shots where the focus missed and some that I put in the video were only good enough for TH-cam and I wouldn't have printed them. Still got some that I am really pleased with.
Hi Dan, I haven't watched this yet, but I was in a hide this week here in Sunny Jersey and a couple from UK came in, obviously we started chatting, and they told me all about Bempton Cliffs, how weird is that. I'll tell you what I think after I've watched the video :)
Great video Darrell, I’m not a bird or even a landscape photographer as a rule, more a Street Photographer than anything but do enjoy a bit of everything really. I’ve seen a number of videos about Bempton Cliffs now and next week I’ll be about 35 miles inland from there, on a camping break actually. I was wonder if you think I’ll be able to capture any of the seabirds using a Fuji Xt3 ( APS- C ) with a 50-230mm? I don’t have any longer and can’t afford to buy one, plus even if I could I wouldn’t, I’m hoping to change systems, most likely next year now.
@@DarrellOakdenPhotography Yes, I knew that bit but as I’ve never been I didn’t know how far the cliffs were but after watching your video I’m hoping I’ll come away with something. Much appreciated, if I do manage the odd decent shot I’ll post and tag you on Instagram, if that’s ok?
another great video Darrell, looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks, when did you go? had the chicks hatched yet or is everyone still on the eggs?
Hi Darrell, greetings from the Czech Republic. Incredibly beautiful shots. I like to watch your videos and they are an inspiration to me. You can see how much you enjoy photography. I also bought a Nikon Z6II and I'm already looking forward to more photography. May I ask what camera card you use?
Greetings from the UK. Glad you like my photos. My card is nothing special - SanDisk Ultra Sd 128gb. I don't take extended burst shots so I never need any quicker write speeds.
I’m quite new to photography so forgive my question… you were struggling to get your shutter speed up but i notice you were at F/11 most of the time, why not open the aperture more
Really pleased you had a good couple of days visit to Bempton Cliffs, I live 2 miles away and have been here over 30 years and love the views and Wildlife. You got some great shots of our beautiful Seabirds and Coastal scenery, maybe try Flamborough next time and you may get lucky with Grey Seals and we also have Dolphins. 👍😊🐦🐬
I have only been once when I filmed the video and timed it to hit breeding season. I would guess that this would be the wrong time of year to see the numbers I saw.
Aw, absolutely loved this! Superb images as ever and the music for those end shots, a great choice. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I was really pleased with this video.
Fabulous images ! I shall never get there myself, so it was great to watch your video. The puffins were a real bonus. Such sweet looking little birds!

Great video and some stunning photos, well done
Thanks Mark. It is an amazing place to visit.
Excellent images Darrell. Also like the new introduction video graphics.
Thanks, glad you like photos and the new opener. I need to think about the end screen that's been around a while.
Another wonderful video Darrell with some stunning images 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

There were no shortage of gannets. I had a great visit.
Many thanks for sharing this video, have not done much bird photography but we are staying here in late September so might take a look
It is well worth a visit.

Thanks for the sub! I was looking for the more unusual birds. I was tracking skylarks for a while but didn’t get a photo.
This put me into Vortex💛 Thank you♥️

You will definitely get something at 230mm the birds are so close (with APS-C the crop fact will make the lens seem longer).

It was the first and second of June (just over a week ago). I didn’t see any signs of chicks.

This definitely would have worked, but I am working out the most reliable AF settings on the z6ii so I wanted more DOF as a backup.

Keep an eye out in a few weeks there are a couple of videos waiting to go from Flamborough including seals and a great sunrise.
Is it worth going in January?
