Hi there, I’m trying to decide between Helcim and Stax for my business. I process between 20-50k a month with an average ticket of 375 per transaction, in person payments only. What would work better for me?
If your monthly sales are $50,000, Stax will cost slightly less than Helcim. However, you mention that $50K would be the max amount you process in a month, in which case Helcim probably comes out ahead as the lower-cost choice for your business. There really isn’t a huge price difference though, so I would also take into consideration other factors like hardware, services, software considerations, etc., to determine which makes the most sense for your business. To learn more about Helcim, we recommend you check out our review. Best of luck! www.merchantmaverick.com/reviews/helcim-review/
I will be doing a POS Portrait Photography business, variety of Locations, not a High volume business, leaning toward SQUARE, but currently have a PAYPAL NON-BUSINESS ACOUNT, Looking for advice and recommendations as to what system or Card Reader to choose. Single Business owner, not yet registered with a Business Name, but I have my Business NAME DECIDED ON, Please provide ADVICE, OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS FOR MY FUTURE BUSINESS,THANK YOU.
Congratulations on your business! That's super exciting. You really can't go wrong with Square for ease as a low-volume seller, but we also like PayPal and their processing rates are affordable if you wanted to stick with them and transfer over to a business account. If you're looking to switch to Square, check out: www.merchantmaverick.com/set-up-square-account/?.com&Best+Credit+Card+Readers+For+Small+Business&video_id=qbNoumJ6BbM
On each transaction you process with a credit card reader, the payment service provider (Square, for example) has to pay processing fees to the credit card’s issuing bank, plus a fee to the credit card network (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.). The payment service provider charges merchants a percentage-based fee (and often a flat fee of at least $0.10) to cover their processing costs and also make a small profit. It’s how they make money! 😊

You will never know what the original comment was
But I want to know
Why do you got to pay a tiny percentage plus 10 cents over each transaction?
