Во первых зачем было ее снимать с машины , во вторых грубо снимать верхний слой лезвием это вообще смех , в третьих нарушили герметизацию . А надо было просто не снимая с машины , взять молярный скотч , закрыть им лакокрасочное покрытие вокруг фары, взять шкурку с зернистостью 800 и 2000 и отшкурить до матового состояния , потом отполировать , вот и все дела , хотя фара быстро опять помутнеет через месяца 2-3 , так как нужен защитный слой сверху .

Only missed step here is a sealant when finished. Without the UV sealant it will turn opaque in short time from sun exposure. The original manufacturer has a UV sealant that protects the plastic but its removed in this restoration process.
Just on the surface a UV blocker will not help much. The UV stabilzer must be with the main mix of the plastic. Any type of top coating likely is only to smoothen the surface and yes must have a UV coating as well. The comment of waxing will work but not stable of course.
That polish isn't gonna last long, you need to apply a UV protective clear coat over that, it's gonna turn yellow in less than 6 months, also he didn't properly seal it , those lights will be full of water after the next rain/wash

I think you're forgetting the fact that these people are being resourceful and economical as much as possible. Us in the West just live in a throw away society. I'm a time served HGV mechanic and whilst at college we had to strip down starter motors and alternator and rebuild them. Since then I have never repaired a starter motor or alternator. These people are maintaining the skills that we have unfortunately lost.
And quicker. But you would need a deft hand, because you might cut away too much plastic which will affect the refraction of light and the beam pattern. If you have the time, do the wet and dry thing instead.
They forgot the most important part though. The reason this happens is because the sun affects the top layers of the plastic. Once you get those layers off and get it all nice and shiny from buffing you need to spray it with UV protected clear coat that way it won't happen again. I've done this to every car I've owned and once you do your headlights will stay that way forever. There is a ChrisFix video here on youtube showing you step by step how to do it at home yourself with about $16 worth of stuff from walmart. It's VERY VERY simple and makes your car look so much nicer.

If you strip away the damaged layers they will be clear again but it's only a matter of time before the sun melts the outer layers again. That's why after you sand off those layers you need to seal it properly to protect from further sun damage. UV is basically sun rays for this conversation.
@@bread-chan6650 I've done this on every car I've owned since the 90s. Obviously hitting anything would damage your headlights but for normal use if you do this your headlights will be crystal clear for the life of your car. From my experience anyway.

Easiest way to restore them is wetsand them with 400 grid depending on how yellow they are and work all way up to 800 and then just clear coat them. If u buff them you warp the plastic and if u over heat the plastic, it will Crack in a spider web form then u can just throw them away.

I hit mine with Blue Magic every 6 months with a cloth polishing wheel on my 4.5 grinder. Then his with a nice Mother’s Wax that has UV in it and so far it’s been 4 years and they look great.
On all plastic car light there is a UV protectant clear coat. When you remove that and don’t apply an new layer, the light will be yellow and unclear within a year. You’ve just destroyed that headlight.

You don't have to take the lens off of the headlight housing and depending on your tools and vehicle you can leave the headlight on the vehicle. I personally would have wet sanded and then buffed it. Then I would use a good UV protectant wax. Every few months you have to clean and then reapply the UV wax for it to look nice long-term. You can also spray a clear coat over the refurbished lenses but I normally just used the wax.
Yes can usually all be done on the car without pulling the headlights at all, and just sand it. Put some tape around the light to protect the paint work. You can get the proper UV protective coat and apply that afterward or it will go dull again as it oxidizes.
UV clear coat is okay, but I often end up with an orange peel finish. Has to be done on a hot sunny day. Which we don't get anymore in the UK. #Greta_is_right
The headlights probably had bad seals and were getting condensation in them. These guys aren’t that dumb that they can do all of this stuff but can’t figure out how to take a headlight out…
I don't see 🙈 how more easy, time saving and profitable this method is. It's effective. But some guy on TH-cam just uses Mother's wheel polish, and a power polisher, and charges $40. We should apply some UV protectant once a year to keep it from yellowing or clouding up.

А он этим способом уменьшил толщину линзы + полировка абы как. Хоть она и выглядит презентабельно,светить она будет абы как,но точно не так как надо. Существует техника полировки,при которой не нарушается оптические характеристики фары. Как-то так.

Better to take the light off and work on it indoors in a stable environment and temperature.
I don't see 🙈 how more easy, time saving and profitable this method is. It's effective. But some guy on TH-cam just uses Mother's wheel polish, and a power polisher, and charges $40. We should apply some UV protectant once a year to keep it from yellowing or clouding up.

Скребком фару,ну это полный п...ц. про защитный лак уже не говорю. Несколько лет занимаюсь фарами,такого ещё не видел.🤦

@@schustoff на самом деле защитный слой снимается и при обычной полировке. Но его нужно обязательно наносить,для защиты от царапин и пожелтения. А он этим способом уменьшил толщину линзы + полировка абы как. Хоть она и выглядит презентабельно,светить она будет абы как,но точно не так как надо. Существует техника полировки,при которой не нарушается оптические характеристики фары. Как-то так.
