Thank you Dr. Lori. I was married in 1979. The green set was given to us for a wedding gift. I have gotten a lot of use out of them. They bring back a lot of memories.😊❤
We got at least four sets of Corningware when we got married in 1994. Got some colored glass pots & baking bowls, but they did not last like the Corning has!
I have a large PYREX collection. One of my favorite sets is the New Dots set. I saw the set in rhe background. I celebrated when I found the largest green dot bowl for a good price because it completed my set. I rarely buy anymore, so expensive now.
Similar to Pyrex's 'every day set - hand down forever' - I consider vintage Corningware -Corelle Ware dishes the same. For a period I shelved my collection so that I could use the new trends... only to end up donating all the new stuff to Goodwill and going back to my 'Old Town Blue' sets. Lightweight - easy to clean - indestructible - attractive... what more can you ask for?
I have the yellow big bowl, and the red set, we bought 25 years ago for $50.00, that was alot , we found 2 of the red refrigerator container for $5.00 each and the turquoise with the white lid the casserole dish, for $10.00 that was 15 year's ago I love them all. ♥ 😊
I started collecting pyrex about 20 years ago. I have different patterns and colors.. wish I had purchased them in 1978 the year i got married. I do use them daily but i don't put them in the dishwasher as to preserve their beauty. Interesting video.
My parents got married in 1950 and got the brightly colored bowls as a wedding present. But the ones I remember most were the avocado green, mustard yellow and brown bowls from the 1970's. I think I still have those...
I remember that about the fashion in the 70's. I still like the colors which was less bright but still colorful. I recently found one medium size Cinderella bowl and I love it.
Thank you Dr. Lori. My mom had the set with the yellow green and Blue? Well they broke when I moved. I found a whole set in the garage that was in perfect condition. I remember making chocolate chip cookies in the yellow bowl when I was a kid.
I have a set of three mixing bowls in red, yellow and blue. My mother in law gave them to me. I had a set of the avocado green but they haven’t survived! We used it!
Dr. Lori, I love this video! My mom has the yellow set and they are still used and not chipped or anything. So many great memories! Another thing she has is her mixer from her wedding in 1958. Hamilton Beach, with the 2 white Pyrex bowls. Still works great too! Love your awesome videos with all the wonderful info! Thank you for what you do!!!
I grew up in Levittown in the 70's, and I remember the colors of the appliances,, bathroom fixtures (toilets, sinks) The dusty rose, avocado green, almond. The Pyrex and Corning craze is having dealers crank up the prices ridiculously. Love the patterned sets. All I typically see is the yellow.
Thanks for sharing Dr Lori. Great video on vintage Pyrex. It's so nice to see such brightly colored examples in excellent condition. They Definately weren't subjected to dishwasher wear.
Just found your channel enjoyed the video and learnt a lot thank you looking forward to seeing again soon with best wishes from Perth Western Australia 🐨🦘🇦🇺🥰
My parents received the gooseberry pyrex pattern 63 years ago for a wedding gift. They are now on display in my house and are in perfect shape. They were used almost everyday. Pyrex is amazing.
Just found you & subscribed! Watched 4 other videos from you & I'm thrilled with your knowledge, ability to explain succinctly each piece. Mostly I love your humour! Us Canadians love polite, especially when we can laugh along! Thanks for your wonderful content!
I have had my Pyrex stacking bowls since 1985, I have used them for so many things including serving large dishes at the holidays. You never see them anywhere, my set is clear and you can read Pyrex through the bottom. I bought the set of 4 at Kmart for $35 worth every penny.
I love watching your videos and learning the history behind objects. Great information about Pyrex; it is so interesting how history has affected our household goods. Thank you, once again!
0:56 Prosperity colors - I never knew that 2:56 The Gooseberries Pink with the onion (never realized it was an onion) 😭 7:33 my granny had the teal set I recently saw a set from the orchard collection (first time ever to see an entire set) from that collection
My dad had a gas station and people were so ridiculous. They would wait in line and sometimes he couldn’t even cram $1 worth in the tank…….memmmmmreeees……..🎉🎉🎉
I bought two large Pyrex bowls for 5$ each at a flea market a few years ago and used them. Went to get them down one day and dropped both of them on the quartz countertop and broke them. I liked them because they were old-I looked them up after I destroyed them and found out how dear they are!
Years ago I found 4 of a pink green, orange and brown and they all fit inside each other consecutive. And I paid a dollar a piece for them. I wish I still had them, but I gave them to an ex-girlfriend's daughter and told her to hang on to these.

If the pink pyrex is mass produced, why can't I find some of it? Seems like maybe it wasn't so popular or I would find it all over like all the other mass produced things from that time period.

I keep yelling when I watch you. You say vintage, (and it's from my teens.) I'm saying no it's not. Then I have to check myself. LOL 0:00
Me too!
Yes, everything we got when we got married 30 years ago is vintage now. But we feel like antiques!
My goodness I've never seen such beautiful sets of Pyrex bowls in so many designs & great condition, too! Thanks, Dr. Lori!

I grew up in the 70s and I remember the gas shortage and my parents talking about it.
Fun episode - right in my area - happy to see such gorgeous Pyrex!
The amish butterprint pattern is great in teal even better in pink or orange.
I remember that about the fashion in the 70's. I still like the colors which was less bright but still colorful. I recently found one medium size Cinderella bowl and I love it.

My family wasn’t fond of what we called “swamp green “….lol…..Memmmmmreeeessss……..
Omg I remember them
That was awesome - so interesting!

I've never been this early ❤
Thanks for the video ❤!
Thankyou
I have a great 2nd hand, "Full set" story, where someone tried to buy my Johann Haviland Bavarian China set in line at a 2nd cash register.
I had that teal bowl set in the 70s-80s. They were nice but very heavy, which made them too difficult to lift to pour batter or whatever out.
I want the lids with my Pyrex.
❤️❤️❤️
We had the big yellow bowl when i was kid.Dont know where it went tho.
I bought two large Pyrex bowls for 5$ each at a flea market a few years ago and used them. Went to get them down one day and dropped both of them on the quartz countertop and broke them. I liked them because they were old-I looked them up after I destroyed them and found out how dear they are!
Love your videos.
How are the Pyrex bowls in such great condition? My mum's were so faded because she used them everyday! ❤ Another informative video!
I don’t need perfect to use it to bake a cake.
Years ago I found 4 of a pink green, orange and brown and they all fit inside each other consecutive. And I paid a dollar a piece for them. I wish I still had them, but I gave them to an ex-girlfriend's daughter and told her to hang on to these.
I still have the large pink bowl, and still use it. I think I’ll retire it now.
I have never come across the Apple Orchard bowls

Arthritis makes it difficult to lift the bowl when it's empty, much less when it's full....😢
❤
I'm 72. My mom is 95 and still has old pyrex bowls on her kitchen shelf! Mint condition? hardly.
Why the gloves? I’m just curious. Are you concerned about lead on some of the items?
Watch me explain my gloves in the video at th-cam.com/video/0gxhyPngbHI/w-d-xo.html

Good question to ask during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video so I can answer in detail and teach everyone watching. Check my website for the next date.
