I did put some extra pressure on my current reader to hear it click and notice that it would freeze each time I had a card in. Hopefully buying a replacement off of Amazon helps
Someone sold me their switch for $30 because the sd card wasn't reading anymore, I followed this guide and replaced it. Now gonna sell it for 200$ on ebay lol
Make sure it is actually plugged into the board. Sometimes it looks and feels like it is, but it is not. I recommend taking off the sticky rubber thing on the SD card reader when plugging it in, then placing it back on top. Also check and see if the port on the board has any corrosion or damaged pins.
I just can't seem to be able to get the reader back on properly after opening up and cleaning the fan. it doesn't seem to click at all. I put more pressure on it and still nothing. Hope I didn't damage it now. Does not read the card at all

thanks for this comment my dude. "pinching" the SD card area produced a small click sound, which made my SD card work again!
Thank u so much!! It was really helpful
Hello!
I have this problem with my Nintendo Switch OLED. Does the replacement look the same as in the case of the oldest model?
Same question
Hello, as someone else said, i have an OLED model, the replacement part is the same on both models?
We will be launching a video for the Oled model shortly.

Good work!
What brand of sd card reader did you use?
The reader is obviously Nintendo, but the SD card itself is a Sandisk.
can you recommend me any cheaper but still good brand to put in my switch@@Joesge
I tried this and the piece is not being detected on my switch still.

Ah crap, these screws on the outer panel are insanely easy to strip eh?
Did you use the wrong screwdriver?
@@Joesge I used a tri-wing screwdriver, so I don't think so. Unless it wasn't bitey enough or something.
Does anyone know what to do if they are stripped
This is not the olde version like in the thumbnail
my sd card reader has no holes
