Very good, clear view of micro soldering. Thank you.

Just had this happen to me on my modded gen 1 switch. If just a few of your pins are gone you can solder a small cable from the pins on the left there. Just make sure you match everything up. Honestly though big pain in the ass... a mod for where you could solder a custom flex cable to the pins and into the card reader straight away would be nice.

10:54 doesn't have to be flat....in fact it's gonna sit off kilter like that with the screw in
It just needs to be on and connect
I've been lucky enough and only my read has failed a few times- as long as all the pins are in the connector WILL work

I just got all the stuff required to do this on Amazon, for less than 200, even a microscope camera, the same pins were missing from the board, they were still attached to the reader boards connector. They cost 9$ for 2 and the reader cost 9$. Microscope camera 250x zoom 39$, heat resistant tape with no residue 8.99$, 10 feet of copper sodder wick 8$,.a duel soldering iron and hot air station 80$ several tips and accessories, the heat gun all in one. flux 6.99$, also a new volt, ohms, amp meter. 10$ , 🤞hope it all works

What type of tape is that? I can't find any good tapes for soldering. that stick well, but that tape looks really good I would like to get some for my own work.

Very nice job. last year i attempted this & my heat gun hand drifted hit my shield and went everywhere bar the connector lol, melted the plastic joycon connectors & flowed the nand :| i was waay too focused on alignment & took too long dicking about( also im a lazy soab & should have taken the nand off ) :( . best bit is, i could have just ordered the connector, pull 2 pins out , popped them in & touched them up. That was last year , too disgusted with myself to touch it so its in the back of my router cupboard , a sombering reminder of what i really am

Why couldn't you just heat from under the board? Wouldn't that have helped your struggle @ 6:50 ?

Hi there, I got the "1bit" problem and I switch the SDreader part with another one in a Switch who's working well, but the good SD part still does the "1bit" in the bad Switch and the first "supposed" bad reader does the "1bit" too in the good Switch....
So what must I do? changing the reader AND the connector on the first one? Cause when i put back the good SD (who's dont work on the first Switch) on the good Switch it works again without the 1bit thing...

i hate this sd card reader!!!!!!!!!!!!! its driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!! i ve been switchless for 1 year now.... I finally got my second replacement... did it myself with utmost care... but now it just decides to not connect properly! like i was installing cfw just fine then all of a sudden it stoped recognizing it! then i put it back, all was fine, and then it worked enough to boot into cfw, but couldnt install games and had low speeds!!! maddening

I would assume whatever the employment age requirement is in your area. If you are young then you might need to look into a work permit of some sort. Labor laws vary by state.
