As long as you one with the correct read/write you'll be fine
Manscaped forced advert was worth the watch for this video. Great info ! Thanks 🙏
Hi good video question can I use a Lenovo memory card sd on my switch 🤔 it's a 1tb card
I always get the class 10 sd cards from san disk I have a 400gb sd card on my switch I ran out of space on my 128gb sd card and had to upgrade to a 400gb for more storage as games these are getting much bigger
Onn at Walmart that is the way I have had it for 2 years and it works wonderfully and I still can’t fill up and it may be 1 second slower ( that means you have to wait a whole sec for &20.00 less)
Does it make your games smoother and run better
thanks man I just bought a switch earlier exactly the video I was finding
So glad to have helped! 😁
Has anyone experienced some San Disk micro SD cards being too thick & won't fit into the slot? Mine is a 512 GB San Disk official & it totally jammed in the slot. I had several people look at it plus i sent it to nintendo saying I think it's a manufacturer defect but all they did was pull out the card & send back & didn't fix it. I put the sd card into my daughter's nintendo switch lite & it slid in no problem & worked. Freaking ridiculous. My OLED is brand new & never had an sd card in it before.
I got a 128GB SDXC Kingston Card with 80mb/sec, I just get slightly slower load times?
I bought my switch and a 128 gb memory card cause I wanted to play breath of the wild. But I didn’t want to spend 360 bucks for a switch and Zelda. So i went to get one and they just stocked I didn’t think I would need a bigger memory card since I like to have physical games well covid hit so I got a 512gb the first one died after a year my second one was great but I bought to many games it was at the point of having 2- 512gb memory cards or buy a 1 tb. Since they became affordable I got a sandisk for 90 bucks so that’s what I am using I have 250 gb left to buy some more games
Awesome
So any sd card is OK as long as it's not generic? I'm not trying destroy my new oled switch
As long as the speeds I talk about are there and it's a respectable company it'll be fine
Ever had any problems with the Integral Card?
Because i actually wanted to buy a San Disk 256GB for 50 Euros
but looks like the Integral one costs 52 euro and has 512GB
but i guess i just buy the 256GB one from Integral since im 50/50 Physical and Digital
Never had an issue, still use it today. I also use integral for other things too and no problem at all
will any microsdxc card will do? even with the ones with only a picture of a phone on the box?
As I say in the video it needs to have a read speed of around 100mb/s, best to buy a known brand or the card may fail/corrupt
I got samsung pro endurance 2tb
Read/Write speed: up to 170mb/s 120mb/s
UHS level: U1
SD type: microSDXC
Read/Write speed: up to 100mb/s
Can i use this too?
I bought the SanDisk 512g card with the Animalcrossing design and I keep having the issue of my switch not reading the card.
Could be faulty, try formatting it and seeing if it works
@128KB
I'll try to reformat. It could be bad which is why the price was so good. Definitely will be alit more cautious buying memory cards from online.
I just want to ask for your opinion on the SD card Nintendo released which has 512 GB of storage 100 MB/s for read speed and 90 MB/s in write speed.
Also, does the type of Switch matter? ‘Cause I have the first Switch that came out
Can the microSD card that has the symbols work fast and so on and so on thank you guys?!🎉
The speed on package is always "up to" My 512GB SD Card from Samsung that have typed on package up to 130MB/sec have at the speed test only 71MB/sec. I dont know if this is enough speed für my nintendo switch
Can I put the sd card for an old Nintendo switch into the Nintendo switch oled?
Yes but it will format the card when you do that
@@128KB will the data for every game be affected or is the progress I have made in my games going to be the same as before if I transfer my user data beforehand?
i have a nuilaks sd card and it keeps corrupting all my data💔 and i cant download anythingn
Get a new SD card!
@@128KB i am!
Ik this might be a bit late to the party so to speak but I bought a 1Tb (Extreme Pro) micro sd card from SamDisk or whatever it's called thinking it would be compatible but when I tried to use it the card wasn't being detected.
Unsure if it's just not the right type of card & I need to get one of those official switch sd cards or downgrade to a lower gig one.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Having corrupted data issues with mine, same extreme pro too. Maybe SanDisk ultra and extreme has better compatibility?
Just got my Lite couple days ago. About to buy a microsd at the moment and got so overwhelmed by class10, UHS, speeds, and all the names like extreme pro ultra plus evo etc etc. Still am so confused. If I can sort of grasp this is.... get a card thats uhs1 around 100mb/s. I was about to buy a card that was way too fast for my switch anyways so now I have dialed back abit and gone for more storage size than before. I just dont want to make a mistake and have my games tank hard and run slow etc. tldr which sd card = uh yes
That's right though, providing its around 100mb/s you're good, just make sure it's a good brand
so that Integral micro sdxc memory card will work for nintendo switch oled please let me know asap
thanks
Yes of course
@@128KB do I really need micro sdxc card for my Nintendo switch oled Evan that I will buy games Tru Amazon or not
Or do I just need micro sdxc when I download games thru online eshop on Nintendo switch pls let me know asap thank u
Just bought a fake one and lost all my game data (not the save data because it’s supposedly on the console). Can I redownload games from eshop?
I have question I'm looking at getting a sd card for my switch and you didn't say anything about this brand nuiflash sd card I'm looking at getting that brand but in a 1tb and it has a 80 read speed is that good because I just got a switch for my birthday would appreciate the information if you or anyone could tell me
Thank you for the info. I did get 160 r/w Samsung on Amazon for $80 on sale. Not just thinking of my current Nintendo switch, but the future Switch 2.
Probably going to be in more digital copies as time goes along.
Hope the new Nintendo Switch has Bluetooth capabilities to help it catch up with the times. ❤
Well… I got a 512GB one but that one is yet to be filled by more than 50%. And now I’m still interested in getting a 1TB card that is About to be released. Why? Because that card would be Zelda themed offer by SanDisk to go with the TotK themed Nintendo Switch OLED, that I preordered. Being a Zelda Nerd can get expensive, I guess… 😅
Yes zelda is the best nintendo game hands down
This lad is legendary. He’s replying to everyone’s comment!
I try! :)
I have a question, do some of these sd cards burn the switch? I heard this on another video
I having difficulty to trust SD card coz SD card easy to get corrupted. I not sure if it safe but I feel scare and worry if buy any of the as card it's happen again corrupted
Make sure to buy a branded one like SanDisk or Samsung and you'll be fine
@@128KB you mean trust the one at the shop instead of buying at shopee? How about buy SD card the one with yellow Nintendo switch SD card?
@@sangandikrafael8783 that one is from SanDisk
so yes
@@ilhanovic5219 ohok thanks you.
Is the Phase 2 version of these cards ok to use?
What about xiaomi extreme 1gb microcard?
is 1terabyte sandisk ok on oled? is 1tb compatible with oled? or I will buy only 512gb
1tb is compatible
Is the teamgroup sd card a good one to get it's 160 mbs and 512 gb
i want to buy one for my switch lite (only for fortnite updates)
i see that there are different kinds of sandisk though...
ones witch the nintendo switch branding indeed, but also cheaper ones.
will the cheaper ones also be fine ?
Yeah better deals can be had like the Integral I show in the video
just got a samsung evo 128 GB since it was on a really good sale! thanks for the info
Awesome! No problem at all 😁
Same
Just got my switch! What about gigastone micro sd card?
Awesome Just want I needed to know 🤙🏽
Glad to have helped! 😁
Your videos are very helpful as I review options to get a Nintendo Switch (OLED) for my Grandson for Christmas
So glad to have helped! Your Grandson will LOVE the Switch OLED I'm sure, it's a great system!
@@128KB thank you for the response.
My Grandson got the Switch OLED for Christmas and was truly excited. The biggest challenge is understanding the buttons on the joycons. He has played on touchscreen tablet for most of his gaming and is not familiar with controllers (joycon or otherwise). I have not been able to find a video on this topic: "How the buttons function in different games". Do you have one like this or can you point me to a place to learn about this?
My nintendo switch is destroying every sd card I insert. I ve tried 4 regular SD cards and they work perfectly during the first weeks, then it stops working. My PC does not even recognize it is an SD card anymore. I will try with a licenced sd card.
I am not sure what kind of SD card I should get for my Nintendo switch I’m not really sure what kind is accurate so I don’t get scammed so I’m just wondering if there’s actually a good brand of an SD card so I can put it in my switch without anything bad happening because I’m kind of new to it. I just got my switch last year and I started using it this year so I’m just curious.
Check the link in the description or just ensure it's a Sandisk for good quality
I got Sandisk 1TB from game stop best to go i feel because over time u will be getting more games and some the games DLC and extra stuff take up a lot space and just better to. Start with because then u wouldn’t have to keep buying so many Sd especially if u play fortnight or APeX with bigger GB they stay adding on to them type games and so many skins and stuff take up a lot space so if u can offered it the best way is Sandisk 1Tb save ur more money and u don’t have to remember what games are on what SD 2 or at least like a 500 GB depending on how u game
I have one of the "fast cards" for my oled switch... And while downloading it Stopps all the time... With an error Code wich does Not help me in the slightest
Try formatting the card and try again
Great video! This is excellent information. Thank you my guy.
Is Lenovo a good brand to buy from?
Maybe, they're a big brand so guessing their microSDs would be fine
Best video I've watch that explains it simply, I just have a question would the Samsung brad of micro also work for this?
Absolutely Samsung would be great 😁
Do you think there's any chance that the switch prompts a corrupt data error after the game is downloaded because the memory card is not right. Because its happened with me with a 1 tb lenovo sd card
Yeah possibly, can redownload the games from the eshop or transfer back and forth from a pc
Can kingston work fine instead of sandisk?
Absolutely
The Nintendo sandisk 256 wont get recognized on my laptop or my switch why ??? somebody help
Does the write speed matter for the micro sd?
Without knowing anything about sd cards, I bought a generic 1TB card off ebay for only 12 bucks. It worked fine for about a week or so, but now every time I turn on my switch I get an error message saying its unable to access the sd card, should I format it and delete everything off it or just buy an actual name brand card?
I'd buy a decent one
@@128KB Yeah I looked stuff up and apparently thats a pretty common scam, people can somehow alter the code in a card making it appear bigger than it really is. Mine only filled to about 30 gb before getting corrupted, you recommend any good ones? Edit: forgot what video I was watching lol nvm
@@JaylanxYT yeah sadly people do it all the time :( good luck getting a good one, you won't have any issues then!
I have a Switch Lite and this would be my first time putting a micro sd card in it.
If I were to buy a smaller micro sd card now and eventually fill that up is it a lot of trouble to upgrade my micro sd card size later?
Or am I better off getting a larger micro sd card now, like a 1 tb? And just save myself the trouble of having to upgrade later?
Any input on this is appreciated!
Highly recommend getting a bigger card now so you don't have to worry much about it down the line. Girlfriend and I just got our Switch Lites this week and I picked us up a pair of 256GB Teamgroup cards for a great price, definitely worth it!

@@Kaiokendrew Thanks so much for the input! Do you feel 256gb will be big enough for you for awhile? I’ve been considering either a 256gb, 512gb, or 1 tb! Which size would be best for the Switch Lite? I plan on having both digital and physical games.
@MissRuthless Oh definitely. To be fair, I also own a PlayStation so I won't *just* be counting on my Switch but 256MB seems like a very, very generous amount considering even the biggest Switch games are usually right under 16MB. Of course, your mileage may vary, and what works for me may or may not work for you, my friend. Anyway, I hope that was helpful and enjoy :)
@@KaiokendrewI’m looking for a switch lite as well, would you say you still have space in your sd card?
